Actually, it is the salaried people who make all the decisions within the company. Yes, there are non-decision making salaried people, I will give you that, but most salaried workers are in the decision making process. Engineers are not necessarily managers, but I have seen loads of dumb ass decisions made by them.

Did you retired salaried people stop to think that maybe the company is in this position because of poor decisions that you made while you were still working? Why should you be able to drive the company into the ground then expect the active workforce to pay for your mistakes. Also, maybe you should have paid attention to what was going on in the real world and not retire at such a young age. Bottom line, no one gets shit if this company fails, so stop whining.

Does anyone else wish they were as smart as Wakeup? That guy knows everything. When I grow up, I want to be just like him. All kidding aside, the problem with the union as a whole, not just the UAW, is that it is too fractured. What this country needs is a "super" union. Something like less than 20% of American workers are in a union, but just imagine if all of us were in one union. When we go on strike, the whole country would shut down in less than a day. Divided we fall, and we are definately divided right now.

Johnny screwed himself with his arrogance. In regard to Al, everyone I spoke to liked what he had to say and what he was offering. The only thing Tony has on him is political experience, but what has that experience done for us? BTW, George Bush has experience also. The company has gone through some major changes, yet our union is still operating the same way. Keep voting for these people election after election and we'll be screwed just like Delphi and AA.
