  1. Excellent article that shows what whores are elected officials are no matter what party they belong to. They watched and let this go on and on and so it will be in the future. The little guy has no control and must roll with the punches until he is beaten to death. Go capitalism it sures works better for some than most.
  2. What really irks me is that although the corporations want to lower wages of workers to third world levels to compete they will not lower their wages to third world levels for corporate executives and financial executives. The pay levels for them in third world markets is substantially lower but they do not talk about that. They only point out the wages of workers. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
  3. Same here long time to load pages. Thought it was my computer but everything checked out ok.
  4. Not enough participation. Most salaried people could not or would not believe Ford was screwing them and believe benefits would or will be restored. Fat chance. The union is right to negotiate everything that is wanted as a give back and fight to keep as much as possible. Ford cut benefits for its salaried retirees just because they could. I understand cutbacks and cost savings are needed and salaried was the easiest target. Nothing you can do but hope the company does not fold and salaried loses everything. The sacrifices were made and we live with it like it or not. That is the program you signed up for when taking a salaried position. Lots of luck to all out there.
  5. I openned it and was quite shocked at the statements but I aso noted that is was editted. I wish we could hear it in its entirety before passing any judgement. The unions in this country need to work together in solidarity to accomplish anything.
  6. Wasn't that what the AFL CIO was supposed to do? American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations. Now they are just another large organization that for all intents and purposes does zilch.
  7. Keeps me keeping on. Go US auto industry. My neighbor drives a Toyota and I talked to her and heard her arguments against domestic automakers and convinced her to trade in and buy from Ford through the friends and neighbors program. Go out and seek the misinformed and bring them to the US and Ford Auto fold. We have to be proactive and seek the potential buyers. They are only waiting for the push and realization that FORD in the best quality vehicle you can buy. She is buying a Fusion.
  8. I voted twice. Go Chicago Stamping and I wish them all the luck. I am retired from Chicago Assembly and will vote every day. Praise the Lord and the UAW.
  9. Excellent statement that puts it all in perspective. They have pitted the US population against each other and the politicians are complicent in the directed policy of foreign corporations to undermine the wages of workers in the US. The politicians involved should be charged with treason. They are representative of the elite class mentality that throws crumbs to people who they have kept in poverty by their policies and pits one part of the US against another at the expense of ALL US taxpayers. Toyota would not think of doing this in their country as they would be publicly ridiculed and held to task. They think they are superior to any other nationality and as history has proved they are a firmly RACIST nation and will do whatever to sustain their industry. Japan is not a friend of the US as history has shown. Go to Japan and see how you are treated. They RESENT ALL FOREIGNERS AND CONSIDER THEM INFERIOR. YOU CANNOT GO TO JAPAN AND SEEK EMPLOYMENT UNLESS YOU ARE A JAPANESE CITIZEN. You may try but their policies will keep you out. WE NEED A FAIR PLAYING FIELD>
  10. Also his comments on how much the state of Alabama gave to secure the plant. He stated that the property was GIVEN to them free and its value equaled the cost of building the plant. ALL training was paid for by the state. I wonder how much shelby put in his pocket.
  11. Hooray for James Koester a man who supports America and his hometown. I hope the word gets out about his decision and his event draws huge crowds without Bunning or should we say buthead.
  12. From what he said I assume he has a Master's degree and he just got laid off from a job that pays $16 an hour. He must have been at the top of his class. One hell of a student.
  13. To divest themselves of the retirees and retirements I believe all 3 will have to file chapter 11. All 3 will have to go through it. Then with the recent chapter 11 of some suppliers the bankruptcy judge would not let them dump the pensions on the pbgc. They had to keep up payments. That is not saying they won't let them reduce them. But with the way things are going with the senate and politicians I would not doubt that they will make a special provision just for the auto industry to let them negate all the pensions for current retirees and future retirees. Things do not look good.
  14. This is true about the cameras in the lot. My brother still works there and every year like clockwork spare tires from pick-up trucks are stolen with regularity and it is NEVER caught on camera.
  15. In 1978 when I started at Ford I was warned the first day by fellow tradesmen not to drive a foreign vehicle into the parking lot. A guy who was hired at the same time did not heed the warning and his toyota was overturned in the lot. Needless to say no other foreign vehicles were brought into the lot. This impressed upon me the solidarity of the workforce to stand by the products they produced. I guess that now that some toyotas are built in the US along with the other Foreign manufacturers times and opinions have changed. But I stll cannot see driving something different than a Ford after you have worked there a while. What does that say to your neighbors and the car buying public if you drive something else purchased after you started working for Ford? Sad state of affairs. There is no loyalty left. government is not loyal to its citizens, companies are not loyal to their workers and vice versa. It looks like it is every man for himself.
