  1. Having prepped myself beforehand, I went into the finance department with the intent of denying any additional warranties suggested. I did just that - "No" to the extended power train, "Gold Club," or any other royalty-esque titles my ears heard. But then the devil across from me said, "You've made a substantial down payment and this is your first car. I don't mean to scare you, but..." and here is where the pitch for lojack began. His offer went from $999 to $650 to "look you don't have to get it. I'm just saying your insurance company is not going to re-imburse you for what the car is worth if it is not recovered" to $625. So I complied to those last three digits, mentally thanked my sponsor for the xplan pin yet cursing my weak nerves. Anyone else get lojack?
  2. I know you are frustrated since you were one of the first people to order. It sucks, all this run-a-round. But you're taking your frustrations too far. WAV files for us to listen to? Constant updates that go no where? Honestly, best of luck, but I'll stop reading this thread. Another dealership awaits you. Hope you are sitting in a new FEH in the coming months.
  3. In case any anxious readers are curious about delivery time, my vehicle was shipped on 7/18 and arrived today, 7/30. About 12 days from the KC plant to Orange County, CA. Hope everyone else's orders/deliveries go as smoothly as possible!
  4. Generally, the larger dealerships are more likely to get allocations than a smaller one (well, that's what two dealerships told me and they were both large). A salesman tells you, "Yes I have will have allocations" but there is no way of knowing if he's flat out lying or being too optimistic about their chances. I don't know if anyone will have a full proof answer to this question. The only way I can help is - if you are still looking for a FEH/FEHL and are living within the KC area, Southern CA, area or are out of state and willing to go the extra mile(s) for this vehicle, then try these places: http://www.mossyford.com/new-inventory/veh...0a9901366bc3d15 http://www.garycrossleyford.com/New-Inventory.aspx No running around and playing an allocation or waiting game. They're in stock now.
  5. So a few posters on here have said that they hardly use their energy flow monitor so it must not make a huge difference when they drive. Another poster brought up a good point that it would be nice to know how far you can coast on EV if you are low on gas. Overall, I just think it is a nice option to have but it's disconcerting that it's not standard for the FEH, let alone the FEHL, as opposed to a Prius. In other words, "screw the navigation" since I can always buy a decent portable GPS elsewhere but it would be fitting or helpful if Ford followed the lead of other companies by making the monitor standard on their hybrids as well. I don't even plan on subscribing to Sirius when the introductory months have expired. I really just wanted the moon roof. Screw the navigation, but give me the monitor.
  6. Thanks for the link. It looks very functional but a whole lot more boring than the navigation screen. I'll keep that $2500 in my pocket though.
  7. Hello, I'm expecting my FEHL and day now. I ordered it without the GPS Navigation system since I couldn't swallow the extra $2500+. I understand that not only is the navigation top of the line, but it also allows the driver to monitor the energy flow of the car or how much is being powered by gas vs. electricity. If you didn't get navigation, how would one monitor this? I am no where near experienced with hybrids and am wondering what to expect. Is there anything on the driver's dashboard to pay attention to?
  8. Hello, My 2009 FEHL has apparently been shipped and I am crossing my fingers it will arrive some time next week, weather or strike permitting. This is the very first car I am purchasing on my own and would like some advice - Do any fellow future FEH owners recommend purchasing Ford extended warranties? I asked someone about this and he said was not impressed with Ford's engines and said I should at least consider buying a power train warranty. Any thoughts?
  9. We've all got Ford Fever Viper Pilot and the only cure is You!!... More Cowbell!. Thanks for your help and hope you have progress to bring me.
  10. Hello, This is a tracking request for a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid Limited: 1FMCU49369KA14942 Thank you again!
  11. My dealer informed me that the KC Plant closed the first two weeks of July and that my schedule build date was 7/14. Are you sure it is the last 2 weeks? The first two weeks includes the 4th so that's why I believed him.
  12. This is a rookie question, but once you have a VIN, how do you track it through the plant? I have read that you cannot do it through the donlen site because that is only for fleet orders and what we have are retail orders(?)
  13. I believe the priority code 10 means you are on the first round of vehicle production (for some reason, it doesn't start with 1, but with 10). The higher number you have, the lower the priority you are on the build list. That's odd that you have a priority 10 and ordered in the middle of June. From other sites, the people in round 1 of production ordered in late April/May. If it is 10, you should have a VIN or your dealer should at least be able to give you a build date. I assume 10s are built by the end of the 1st week of July. I'm hoping someone who works for Ford or has better insight can verify or nullify this. I haven't been given a VIN, but just relied on what the dealer told me over the phone. Sometimes I get the notion my dealer is just shining me on. :blah: Dealer: "Yup, I see it right here on my computer screen (as it displays a screen saver of how he's spent his commission based on my purchase). It says July 14th which means you could receive it by the first week of August.... but that's not a definite. (whispers - but what is definite is how you didn't get anything in writing from me)." A large cackle is heard in the distance. Employees who are on the production line have written that the more accessories you have, the longer it could be for your vehicle to be built (shouldn't be shocker). Sun/moon roofs can be tricky and navigation can delay the process as well (waiting for parts and installation. You could figure that a FEH with no moon roof and navigation could be built faster than one with those ordered. If all goes smoothly, it should be ~2 weeks between build date and delivery.
  14. I ordered my 2009 FEHL on 6/3/08 and have a build date of 7/14/08. Possibly 2st week of August delivery (?) I'm curious how late some other people ordered their vehicles to obtain a priority code 10. So far, it looks like most ordered in late April/May. Has anyone ordered in Jun and received an delivery date in July?
  15. Hello and Thank you for yours and everyone else's responses. I appreciated them as they gave me a lot to think about. I feel really bad about the way things have gone. My X-Plan price looks legitimate. Gas, D & D and FDAF look to appropriately add up to the invoice price. The $3000 leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. I really should have gotten in writing that if the vehicle was not received by a specific month, I a refund would be necessitated. During the meeting, the dealer made it sound like it would be a guarantee of an August delivery, but it does sound so optimistic. I think part of the reason why I didn't argue too much is because it took me a few weeks of searching to find an X-Plan pin. Once that was completed, I was a little tired of the whole situation and wanted to just seal the deal for the car. The past few days have been pretty stressful and there doesn't seem to be much I can change. I hope 5 months down the line I am not still waiting for delivery. Up to this point, I just feel a bit swindled.
