  1. My Xplan MMH was not price protected. It was ordered in May, and delivered in September. I was given a copy of the invoice (with xplan price) and it showed the increase. My dealer even pointed out to me that there had been a price increase from when the order was placed.
  2. Viper, Can you update this one? My dealer says that the vehicle shipped, and I'm curious as to when that actually happened.
  3. Keep in mind that dealers don't just buy vehicles from Ford. They also buy them from other dealers. When I test drove an 08MMH, my dealer in MN had two on the lot (apparently, a few days earlier, they had four). None of those 4 were shipped to them by Ford. My dealer purchased them from a dealer in NJ. I was told that they purchased them from the NJ dealer for Invoice price, and thus could not sell them for below sticker. However, if I wanted to order one, they would be able to sell it for below sticker price. (Or in my case, X-Plan price.)
  4. Thanks for the update. Hopefully we'll see a blend date once the plant is back from vacation.
  5. rory... it looks like our Mariners will be heading down the line together. You have 05642, I have 05644. We were serialized and sequenced on the same day. According to my dealer, mine is scheduled to be built on the 18th, yours is probably the same. (You must also live in an area with a much better allocation - mine was ordered 5/22!)
  6. According to my dealer, allocations are no longer done strictly "by dealer." They are now done by region. This puts the "small dealers" on equal footing with the "big dealers" when it comes to priority. The impression I got was that orders are FIFO within the region - but as we all know, vehicles are not allocated to regions equally. I ordered my MMH on May 22nd. My salesperson checked with a regional manager and told me on July 9th that my MMH was "next in line to pull" - but the order wasn't Serialized until July 31st. (Interestingly, the dealer felt that the wait for an MMH would be shorter than for an FEH, because even though there are fewer MMHs, there area also a lot fewer Mercury dealers to compete with) Of course, then the question is, "How are the regions defined?"
  7. The VIN is: 4m2cu29309kj05644 Any and all updates are greatly appreciated!
  8. I'd understand it if the colors were unique to the hybrid. I've done more than a few doubletakes at Kiwi Green Escapes that weren't hybrids. It would seem to me that would be a good "hybrid only" color. The color selection has definately been the worst part of the process. We're also in the "hate the least" category.
  9. Black Pearl Slate is a beautiful color. For some reason, it is available on the Escape Hybrid, but not the Mariner Hybrid. (Unless there's a misprint in the MMH order guide) Your best bet is to go to a dealer and look for a vehicle with that color. For example, White Suede is a new color for 09 on the MMH, but the color is available on the Milan, and can be seen on a dealer lot.
