1. My new '09 FEHL is black, quite the challenge to keep looking great. I wanted to put some good protection on it while it's still brand new. Everybody at the other forum I hang out at (CorvetteForum) has been talking about REJEX, not a wax, but a polymer sealant originally developed for airplane windshields to make them so that nothing can stick to them and it has an extremely high refractory index as well. http://www.rejex.com/rejex.html The stuff is fantastic, real easy to put on and pretty easy to take off. I did it in the garage last night, took just about 2 hours. One coat is all you need and is said to last up to a year. Unbelievable, the car looks 10 times better than it did when I picked it up three weeks ago and is so incredibly slick and shiny, it doesn't seem like anything could stick to it. Supposedly, bugs, bird droppings, brake dust, tree sap and just about anything else just rinses right off with water. You put it on the paint, the chrome, and the windows. You'll like it. Just thought I would share... :shades:
2. Here's another volume question for you guys. When making a phonecall, when the call picks up on the other end, I always always have to turn the volume up (past halfway) to be able to hear the call well. Thats with the windows closed. The phone volume through the bluetooth does not follow volume patterns of either the audio system at the time or the voice command prompt volume either. Anybody wondering about this same thing?
3. I don't mean this in an adversarial way so please don't take it that way, but you seem so obsessed with figuring out how to milk every last mile you can out of it. Doesn't it take away from your attention to driving & the overall driving experience itself? To each, his own, right? I take a slightly different approach. I drive it the same way I drive my other cars except this one is the slowest of them. I step on the gas when its time to accelerate and I definitely keep up with traffic and no one behind me is ever wondering when I'm gonna move. I don't crawl around, I move, and I don't even know what hypermiling means, sounds like a respiratory problem. And being this way, I average 33.6 mpg most of the time with all types of driving combined. I think thats great, I used to get 14 with my 2001 Explorer Sport that I just sold. I loved that thing, but I was spending $80 a week on gas and now I'm spending $25, big difference, that's why I bought it & waited 5 months for it. By the way, most Hybrid people are usually shocked when I tell them that my 2005 Corvette gets 26 mpg on the road, it's not a gas guzzler, it's highly efficient, almost green... :yup:
4. Overall, it seems pretty clear to me that the majority of the dealerships have no qualms whatsoever playing dumd to the price protection guidelines. They will show you the invoice and claim "they pay the increase so you do too". I find it very unlikely that any of them would not be aware of how it's supposed to work. They're not stupid, they all got the memo, they all know the procedure. Yet, they all seem so inherently determined to get over on the unknowing customer for a thousand bucks. When confronted with proof otherwise, they seem to quickly back down and comply claiming ignorance before "WE" enlightened them. Pardon my french but that's bullshit, and kind of disturbing. Anybody else feeling this way?
5. Just picked mine up last week, really love it so far just have to get used to the fact that it's a noisy little engine, noisiest I've ever had, but it runs sweet and the transmission is great, smooth & seamless. Anyway, I decided to check the tire pressure in all 4 tires since I just got a new digital guage. Was really surprised to find that all 4 were inflated to exactly 37psi. Doesn't that seem too high? I normally keep all my cars tires at right around 30. Now I'm going to check and see what they're supposed to be at. You might want to check yours. Overinflated tires will result in premature treadwear...
6. YOU need it, not the dealer, not the salesman, and not anybody else here, JUST YOU! Why don't you just stop posting altogether, nothing at all, until AFTER you've got your new car. Can you do that?
7. fmorriso, you have made so many friends here you really should throw a party. Do you have this affect on people in all areas of your life or just here on this forum?
8. You are too funny man, that is hysterical
9. I just got mine today too. I love it, but yes, the engine does seem to be louder than I would have thought it would be. I would also agree with your observation that from a complete stop, the moment you touch the gas pedal, the gas engine starts immediately. Lets see what others think about it as we are all getting them now...
10. Mine came in yesterday & I picked it up today. I'm really happy with it, it's awesome although 5 months was a long time to wait for a car. The electronics in this thing are very state of the art and high tech but will take me a while to figure out. Right now, having a problem getting it to pull all the contacts out of my Palm Treo. It drives impressively and feels nice & tight, overall very well put together, decent quality fit & finish. They sure have come a long way. AND, they didn't charge me the $1,030 increase, they agreed that they were price protected and filed for the credit on their end. They couldn't argue with all the documentation I got from this forum, thanks guys... I will report back soon, gotta go play with it some more now... :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:

12. Here's a little tidbit of information for everybody. I called ALLIED SHIPPING directly. Their number is (404)373 4285. They are VERY nice & VERY helpfull on the phone, and even seem happy to help. All you need to give them is the last eight of the vin, and they will tell you everything they know about it. Mine was built on Sept 15 & gate released on Sept 17 according to ViperPilots tracking. ALLIED claims they picked it up at the factory in Kansas City, MO. on Sept 15 to transport it offsite to somewhere in Liberty, MO., where it stayed as part of a large group being held for the last 3 weeks due to "5 seperate quality control holds". I wish we could find out what the issues were, and why the dealers seem to be in the dark about all this. She continued to inform me that they were all just released yesterday, Monday, Oct.06, and transported to rail for shipping. She added that they should all reach their respective destinations within 10 days now. Thought you might like to know... One call to ALLIED SHIPPING provided more information than any of our dealers could...
13. I haven't abandoned this thread, just still waiting to see what is going to happen. The car isn't in yet & it was shipped 2 weeks ago on 9/15. The manager is claiming he's still waiting for an answer on the price protection from their Ford Rep. Last claim they made was that the Hybrids were exempt from the price protection. We'll see whats gonna happen in the next few days I'm sure, and I'll let everyone here know the outcome as it unfolds. But hasn't anyone taken delivery recently on an order that was originated prior to Aug 1st? Let's hear from some of you...
14. Viper, Thank you for providing this service for as long as you did. You helped many many people stay excited about their new car order through your tracking. Can't you make it a "subscribe to" service and get paid for it? I would think most folks on here wouldn't mind paying a reasonable fee for this service being as it doesn't seem that the dealers can provide the same level of tracking as you did... Just a thought... Take care Viper, and thanks again...
