  1. YIKES! 2007, sorry, I hadn't had my coffee yet... silly me!
  2. Back in 1997, I actually saw Bill Clinton and his 2 bodyguards get into his black FEH on the streets of New York... pretty cool. I heard Obama had a 98FEH last year. So, I was wondering, who are the famous celebrities driving one? I heard of a few famous folks with a Prius, which is cool too, but I haven't heard so much about the FEH. anyone have the scoop? Thanks.
  3. thanks for the tip Mine is black as well and I can't imagine it looking any better... ya got me curious now!
  4. I have had my FEH for over a month now and I can report, I average between 40.2 and 40.7 mpg in my city streets within 6 miles of my house. This is where I do my driving 5 days a week. On the weekends, if I go visit friends/family on the highway, I only average 37 mpg... If I drive a long ways on the highway and there is not slow traffic so I can drive fast, I only am getting 33 mpg.. I used to drive like a bat out of hell when I was younger, but now that I can "see" my mileage per gallon, it is this incentive to drive like an old grandpa, and I am a 36 year old female! When my husband drove on a trip, he only got 29mpg... he was so annoyed with me because I teased him about how I was kickin his but and was the "hypermile queen"! :happy feet:
  5. My orange engine light warning is on and stays on (since yesterday) I only have 500 miles on the car and haven't noticed anything wrong. I left a message this morning for the dealer. Any ideas as to what it could be?
  6. It is possible if you dont need tha ac and if the road and traffic conditions are favorable to hybrid driving.
  7. I rarely have an average under 40. You have to be lucky to have flat, or modestly sloping roads, not run the AC so much, andjust be smooth with the braking and "intuitive" about redlights and all that.
  8. okay, so mine came in yesterday... I had been driving the 08 hybrid, and let me tell you the 09 kicks buttt!! It is awesome. My mileage avg with the 09 is even better. I am easily getting 44 in city driving. The nav and sync are incredible as well.
  9. Mine came in yestesrday. Was due Sept 22nd... ast in Kansas City until Oct 8th... weird.. but, it is here and it is awesome
  10. For curiousity's sake, how many FEH 09 have been made already, and is 25,000 still the maximum? If so, then production will stop in a few months I'd imagine... but then I heard a rumor that Ford was going to get 5000 more hybrid batteries soon and be able to increase 09 production. Also, it would be cool to know how many 09 hybrids went to each state. Where can we find that info? I know the vast majority are in CA and NY... so, what about the rest of the US? I barely see 08 FEH in Atlanta, I think people here just aren't aware of how cool it is, but I do see a ton of Prius in Atlanta, and I mean a ton of them. Maybe people are still a bit skepctical of a hybrid SUV, although, I have heard of some people hypermiling and getting sometimes, under certain conditions, 45 mpg with the 09 FEH. wow!
  11. What are people referring to when they way ICE mode? Does the Limited have a button to sync the garage door opener? I have seen my neighbor's Mercedes have this feature and wonder if the 09 escape has it. Does the econ mode on the air use gas or battery, how much compared to regular mode? How many gallons does the tank hold? i am guessing about 13 gallons. Thanks, I am a newbie.
  12. Thanks for posting these manuals. I may not have my car yet, but I can study up! :stats:
  13. I am driving a loaner 2008 hybrid and I wonder why the battery meter never goes above halfway. Is that normal? How do I charge it? Does it only happen when driving with gas going about 60mph on the highway? Thanks.
  14. Why can't the dealers be told the truth? I was pleasantly surprised when in early Sept, my dealer told me it was coming... I hadn't been bugging him and had though it may not come til November... so he wasn't just lying to placate me. He was told for sure it would be in my hands by Sept 22. Also, he was lied to and told it was due to the gas crisis. then now that is over, so it must have been a different problem I guess they were embarassed, which is why I am driving for free a 2008 hybrid escape until mine comes in. I didn't freak out, but they offered...which shows me they truly feel bad and were not the source of the confusion. Why is Ford disrespecting their dealers? That is what gets me. Anyway... I was told, for 99.999% that I would have the car by noon on Oct 7th... crickets chirping... and no phone call. Hmmm...so, 10 more days. Hell, I could walk to Kansas City to get my car sooner than they can bring it to me~!!
  15. Mine was finished in the factory Sept 16th, by Sept 20th it was supposed to already be in Kansas City. No car is here in Atlanta... where is my Hybrid dude?
