  1. Ford reveals an electric school bus based on the E-Transit: https://blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/75005-ford-reveals-an-electric-school-bus-based-on-the-e-transit-cargo-van/
  2. Not exactly a "cargo van" though.... https://electrek.co/2023/03/09/ford-reveals-electric-school-bus-based-e-transit-van/
  3. They're also buying an equivalent number of ICE Promasters: https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/us-postal-service-plans-buy-9250-ev-ford-delivery-vehicles-2023-02-28/ Why not also just ICE Transits instead?
  4. The article states that the next-gen Lightning is coming out in 2025. Then the E-Transit will be built on top of whatever that's based on.
  5. Mercedes doesn't report their numbers. IICR, first they merged their Metris numbers and Sprinter numbers together. Then they stopped reporting them altogether.
  6. So they took the unibody G van cab and placed it on a truck frame? I wonder if the same can be done with the Transit cab...
  7. A redesigned E-Transit will share the same platform as a redesigned F-150 Lightning in 2026 (and be built at Ohio Assembly): https://fordauthority.com/2023/01/next-generation-ford-e-transit-should-arrive-in-2026-report/ Meanwhile, the ICE Transit will carry on as is through 2030: https://fordauthority.com/2023/01/ice-ford-transit-production-will-continue-into-2030-report/ So the E-Transit will be BOF?
  8. Seems the GM vans are the only ones that grew within the segment last year: https://fordauthority.com/2023/02/ford-transit-sales-numbers-results-2022-calendar-year/
  9. I'm aware that AWD was coming to the vans, but this was was the first news I've seen of it coming to the cutaways. I can't recall such a thing ever happening before. Back when the Express had factory AWD it wasn't a feature of the cutaways. And IICR, the Sprinter cutaway doesn't come with the 4WD. Would it be possible for Ford to implement AWD in the E-Series?
  10. How big of a deal is this? https://blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/68418-the-transit-cutaway-apparently-has-awd-isnt-this-a-pretty-huge-deal/
  11. https://www.ford.com/commercial-trucks/transit-chassis/ Have cutaway vehicles actually had this from the factory before?
  12. https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2017/ford-transit-driveshaft-recall-lawsuit.shtml How difficult would it be to switch to a normal U-joint? Could that be a possible permanent fix?
  13. I dunno. Doing a search, seems like this has the primary major issue for owners, especially those on the Fordtransitusa forum: https://www.google.com.ng/search?q=ford+transit+guibo That and rain water or melted snow entering the air filter opening, which Ford has sort of addressed. Though before that, many of them had done a lot of janky fixes to either cover the opening or redirect the water.
  14. Bit of a question. Could this end up being "6.0 Power Stroke" bad? https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2017/06/28/ford-transit-recall/434934001/ https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2017/ford-transit-driveshaft-flexible-coupling-lawsuit.shtml http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20170712006220/en/Lieff-Cabraser-Jones-Ward-Announce-Filing-Ford https://www.law360.com/articles/943756/ford-sued-by-consumers-after-recalling-402k-transit-vans Will this end up having any effect on sales? I'm kind of wondering... This is a work vehicle. The thing already has F-150 drivetrains and a F-150 rear end. Why didn't they just follow suit and use a standard F-150 U-joint or just any U-joint in general?
  15. There currently isn't a permanent fix. The driveshaft coupling (guibo) will have to be replaced every 30,000 miles: https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2017/06/28/ford-transit-recall/434934001/ There's currently a class-action lawsuit in progress: https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2017/ford-transit-driveshaft-flexible-coupling-lawsuit.shtml http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20170712006220/en/Lieff-Cabraser-Jones-Ward-Announce-Filing-Ford https://www.law360.com/articles/943756/ford-sued-by-consumers-after-recalling-402k-transit-vans
  16. http://m.businessfleet.com/news/270729/ford-to-idle-transit-production-for-two-weeks As the article points out, most likely had to do with this: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/28/ford-recalls-more-than-400000-vehicles-for-safety-and-compliance-issues.html
  17. Didnt see this earlier. http://businessinsider.com/ford-buys-chariot-65-million2016-9?r=US&IR=T http://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2016/09/12/mark-fields-why-fords-purchase-shuttle-service-chariot-made-sense/90278500/ With the reasons given, isn't that basically purchasing vehicles from yourself?
  18. http://www.forbes.com/sites/joannmuller/2016/06/08/chevrolet-pokes-holes-literally-in-fords-aluminum-f-150-pickup-bed/ Seems like this campaign is aimed at "work" customers.
  19. Came across a pretty interesting quote from a GM fleet rep: http://www.truckinginfo.com/article/story/2015/10/cargo-vans-prosperity-as-a-problem.aspx Does anyone know how much this has affected the landscape of the entire cutaway market as a whole?
  20. Seems like that's all people care about when it comes to Ford these days. Granted, this is a financial trading site, but take look at the comments section underneath this article. http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2016/04/30/dear-ford-motor-company-i-was-wrong.aspx
  21. http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2016/04/30/dear-ford-motor-company-i-was-wrong.aspx People like to crap on fleet sales, but they can prove to be very lucrative.
