  1. When I fill up my MKC the miles to empty used to read around 370 miles.  I had the dealership perform an oil change and replace the air filter in December.  Since then when I fill up it shows around 320.  The miles per gallon has not changed  (it's been 23.4 - 23.5 for years) and I've driven it over 500 miles since the maintenance was performed.  Vehicle has about 25K miles on it.  Any suggestions?   Or is this something I need to return it to the dealer for?  Thanks for any input!

  3. Thank you for the information you supply! Do you happen to know when the order bank for the 2014 Mustang is scheduled to close and when production on the 2015 (or 2014 1/2) is scheduled to begin?

I have a lease on a 2011 Mustang that ends 2/28/14 and I'm trying to figure out what to do. Thanks!

  4. .......Something equally as stupid - Can't get the 3.31 axle ratio on the V6 convertible, in the States (have to settle for 2:75). It's optional on the V6 coupe only. It's STANDARD on the the V6 convertible and coupe going to Canada.

  5. Anyone have any recomendations for the cleaning and care of the cloth convertible tops?

I just use regular car washing soap and a soft bristle brush. Before winter, after a good cleaning, I spray the roof with Scotchguard for added protection from road salt (I live in Michigan). Make sure you cover the windows and any paint that could get overspray since it does leave a film.

  6. I'm getting ready to order a V6 Mustang convert. and after doing some research I've found out that the 3:31 axle is not available on the V6 convertible UNLESS it's one going to Canada - it's STANDARD on those. (Unless I'm reading something wrong)

Also the cloth top is optional on the V6 on those going to Canada, where it's not an option on those for the states.

Is it possible for a dealer to DSO one and get those options on one to be delivered here in the States?

I realize I could always have the dealer change the axle and top once it's delivered, but that opens up the possiblity for problems, not to mention the labor cost associated with delaer installation.

  7. Hi mustang07. :D First, let me state upfront that I am not arguing or trying to give you a hard time. I simply want you and everyone else to have the correct information concerning this subject.

As you can see, by Federal Anti-trust and competition laws , Ford can no longer offer pricing plans to it's employees for Mazda vehicles. This has been the case since December 2008 - January 2009, and the above copy and paste is from the latest update on the Ford AXZD-Plan website (dated August 2, 2010 and exactly the same as the rules I posted in Post #5 in July). S-Plan was a simple Mazda extension of the AXZ-Plans. The same now goes for Volvo vehicles, completely ineligible for Plan sales. Obviously, there is no reason for Ford to post this information on it's official Plan website unless it was true.

Mazda (or its local Dealerships) can advertise whatever they want. They can even say that they will sell a car to a Ford Employee at S-Plan prices. But it will not be an S-Plan sale (they no longer exist for Ford Employees) and it will not have the built in protections against price gouging that Ford offered.

There will be no AXZS-Plan paperwork submitted by the Mazda Dealership to Ford and processed by Ford. If you have any pricing problems, you will not be able to go to Ford for assistance. In the end, Ford makes and enforces the Plan rules and as can be seen above, Mazda vehicles are no longer available since Ford sold it's controlling interest in Mazda.

It would be the equivalent of a Ford Dealer offering to sell a car at A or X-Plan pricing without an A or X-Plan PIN. Yes, they can sell the car to you for any price they want, but without the A or X-Plan PIN, the buyer has none of the protection from price gouging that a true A/X Plan buyer is given by Ford on a true Plan sale. No PIN, no protection by Ford.

So to avoid confusion for others, Mazda vehicles are no longer available for purchase by Ford Employees, their family, friends, neighbors etc., on any Ford AXZDS-Plan sales.

    This information is correct.

    Good luck. :beerchug:

Hi BBF2530 - Thank you for clearing this up - (no offense taken : D )

I was also at my local Mazda dealer last Friday (8/27) and what you have stated is absolutely correct. They are offering the equivalant (at least in the local Detroit area) of Ford "S" plan pricing without the "official" paperwork.

    Phil

  8. I just looked at the order guide and see that the 3.31 ratio limited slip axle is for the coupe only, as you say.

My V6 2011 Mustang convertible with automatic transmission has the 3.31 rear axle. Says so right on the window sticker...... See below....

Thank you very much Rick. Not only does your V6 Mustang have the axle I want - you were also able to get the cloth top which the other peeve of mine. I am even willing to pay extra for those options, but here in the states they aren't available on the V6 convertible. What a bunch of s**t! Thank you again for sharing your information. When it's time to order mine you can bet I'm going to put up a fight.

  9. There are 2 thing's I'm wondering about on the 2011 V6 convertible -

    1. Why is the optional 3.31 axle ratio only available on the V6 coupe and not the V6 convert.?

    2. Why is the black cloth top only available on the GT premium and not at least an option on the V6 premium ? (it was on the 07-09 V6 premium converts.)

I realize if I buy the damn thing I can have the dealer install both - but I would prefer it to be factory installed. If I lease, then I don't have a choice but to stick with the 2.73 axle and the vinyl top.

    Anyone have an answer?

    Thanks!

  10. A black cloth top used to be an option on the V6 premium convertible (07,08,09). Can anyone tell me why it's only offered on the GT premium convertible now? I also think Tuxedo Black would be a great color for the Mustang (not just basic Black) - (why isn't it offered - especially with a black cloth top). Any thoughts guys on a Tuxedo Black V6 convertible with a black cloth top?
