the union needs to sit down with the company and tell them to give us our 4% performance bonus back retroactively back to Oct 2009 and give our XMAS bonus of $600 by july 2010. and if they wont then make it clear we will demand them back retroactively for 2 years next oct 2011 or we will seek a 3% raise each yr of the next 4 yr contract..if they give us our 4% bonus back by this july and in oct 2010...in exchange we will seek a 1% raise and a 3% performance bonus next 4 yrs.. either way we will be holding all the cards next yr.....

Ford could not of stayed in business if they were to keep all the retirees on the insurance roles,,, thats just a hard fact...99% of people I know of when they hit 67 have very little or no insurance besides medicare.. be happy with what we got we got better coverage then 99% other retirees...

there would be a cutoff point...if u have 20 yrs or less they would get a reduced pension and convert the rest to a 401k.. most companies give u 10% of your base pay and they increase that by alot your last 5-10 yrs before u get your 30 yrs.. take a guy with 15 yrs he may get $120k in an account and receive $8,000 per yr with rapid increases in yrs 20-30. Ford has over $65 billion in our pension fund so they could easily do this.. u just have to manage your retirement money yourself...

the VEBA wont last 20 yrs unless its changed.. believe Ford will convert our pensions into a 401K in 2011.. and Ford will agree to put more $$ into the VEBA program.. its a win win for everyone
