  1. Guess Im jus a lil dumb. Gosh darn, themins realy got me on dat one!!
  2. I suppose that the verification on the net is false also. Do your homework before you let emotion rule your judgement.
  3. What a black eye for the Union when Mr. Mulally has to step in to assure our concerns are addressed, a job that the union representation has vowed to do. No one benefits from a strike, no one wants a strike. As most Ford employees I am proud to go to work and do the best job that I am able to do. From a workers prospective, all we want is a fair contract, and to be treated with the sense of worth. Thank you Mr. Mulally
  4. I agree 100%, something needs to change. As long as we have Union Representation that are willing to sell their soul to the company, for position, money etc. we will continue to lose ground. Where are the Walter Ruthers of today in the union? Quote: There is no greater calling than to serve your fellow men. There is no greater contribution than to help the weak. There is no greater satisfaction than to have done it well. Walter Reuther Can our leadership honestly say that they have done their job well? I think not!!
  5. To many people are hung up on the $ amount. There are bigger fish to fry. 1. Real job security, not open ended promises that may or may not come true. 2. Fair treatment of employee's. Two Tier must end, Temps that have been on the books for 10 years, shame on you UAW! 3. Investments that create real jobs, not just shuffling the numbers. 4. Protection of skilled Trades jobs, stop the combining of trades and reduction of classifications. 5. Bring back the ILO'd, displaced Trades working production, we have jumped through your hoops, bring us back. 6. Reinstate the stolen break time, with tag relief, why not. 7. Solid language that can only mean what it says. Here are just a few things, I didnt mention COLA, Raises, Equity of sacrifice grievance, or signing bonus. If you dont stand for something you will fall for anything!! Fight for what you want today, or you will beg tomorrow.

  7. If you dont like the answerer dont ask the question! What do you think the equity of sacrifice is all about? The disparity between salary and hourly employee's. Doesnt take a scholar to figure out which one you side with.
  8. Chief Executive Alan Mulally stock worth $56.5 million! Your right DTP Nick, what nerve we have wanting a little bit for ourselves.
  9. The 2007 contract was thought to be a victory as well. It didnt take long to modify that contract. Dont hold your breath, be prepared for a bumpy road ahead.
  10. You guys said that you didn’t get your full trades seniority in production. Guess what brother, neither do we when we become trades. Did you once say this should also be fixed? Let me answer that for you “NO” you didn’t. Why not do the same for both, just saying. Yes I do read the posts, however I have doubts that you truly understand the gravity of the situation the skilled trades are going through. I can say I know what it is like to have cancer, but until someone exsperiances it, they have no idea what that person is going through. Do you realize that when an apprentice is put on from production that the apprentice has protection from layoff? There is a seven to one ratio per apprentice. Seven journeymen skilled tradesmen will be laid off before one apprentice is laid off. That protection is in place until he or she completes the program and becomes a journeyman in their prospective trade. At that point is when their seniority comes in to play, typically four years after starting the apprenticeship. From my prospective, and experience with what the union has done over the past two years for the displaced trades, I find that there is zero continuity between local and regional representation. Until the union reestablishes that continuity there will be further deterioration of leadership, to the point that the entire union is compromised. Yes, the house of cards will fall. Bravo yerrymaker at least someone has the nads to say it the way it is!!
  11. Wow, talk about the “Me – Me” concept gone wild. Boy, I wish I could have the optimism you have. Unfortunately I have been around the block and through the mill a few too many times. Someone was talking about the stationary steam jobs. I was on the list for retraining until the powers that be decided they might lay off other trades within the roughe complex so they diverted those trades that were not yet laid off. That scenario played out no less than six times in the last two years. Also, what is the incentive to return us to our trades? We are being payed a reduced rate. What better incentive to bring in new work and trade jobs than to give us our contractual wages. Wow, talk about the “Me – Me” concept gone wild. (NOT HERE JEFF!!) I am and have been union through and through. Are you a tradesman working production? Weather you are a tradesman working in your trade, tradesman working production, or are from production it doesnt matter. Your mentality is just like family members that bitch about the union, and dont realize if it hadnt been for the union the wages they did or do have would not have existed. Wake up and quit ranting, until the union and company enforce the contract there will be no new work. When or if they do enforce the contract it will be beneficial to all of us, trades, production and hopefully new hires.
  12. The true problem came in when the union sold the membership the (COA) Competitive Operating Agreement. That gave the company free reign to make unprecedented changes that Im sure the union didnt even see coming. Closed plants, lost products, and of course layed off and displaced employees production and skilled alike. The company knew from the onset of the COA what its end goals were, and Im sure they have not reached their satisfaction yet. The union, unprepared and trusting took this COA to the membership, sold it to us and we have been dealing with the repercussions ever since. Most of the topics on this forum are a direct result of the COA. The only way for the union to save face is to negotiate an immediate cross training program, give trades their pay (and back pay) and or lucrative early retirement or buyout packages. Adding product is a foolish dream, if anything the company is looking to reduce not produce. Remember the last contract ratified in 2007? By March of 2008 it was whipsawed and all gains were lost along with the devastation that has been going on throughout ford motor company. The bargaining and skilled representatives from the uaw should hang their heads in shame for what they have allowed to happen. However there is one one saying that holds true: IF YOU FUCK ENOUGH PEOPLE, YOU EVENTUALLY FUCK YOURSELF. Hang on to your ass this upcoming contract, as you know its not worth the paper it is printed on.
  13. As the disparity of UAW made components continue to shift to other suppliers (outsourcing), the need for Tradesmen will continue to diminish. Not only has our hope been abandoned by idle promises and union propaganda, but the presedence has been set. The union will not back its tradesmen. This should awaken any trades still working with your tools. You have a large target on your back, and the union is only too happy to turn its back on you. We trades that have been working production for the past couple of years are a window into the future, a test case for the company. With little or no resistance fron the union, its like a shark that smells blood. Its open season on UAW represented trades.
