  1. Flatrock doesnt have millwrights, just mechs and as far as ive heard no openings at this time except CAP and LAP i think
  2. So just got done reading the ruling and no wonder they kept it under wraps for so long, UAW prez Bob King dropped the ball and didnt have everything in writing as lengths of time for company sacrifices but then turns around and makes our sacrifices perm with this latest contract...thanks Bob! Hope all u union officials that strong armed this contract are happy to have a job...we just blew 50 yrs of sweat and tears by our union for better working hrs, pay, and healthcare for us and for retired members in less than ten yrs !!!!! Ford is laughing all the way to the bank! Do us a favor Bob and retire now u have done enough damage...i mean a lawsuit on verbal discussions and handshakes for evidence...REALLY!!
  3. Well at dtp the list for trade to prod is greatly smaller now most have been placed back to tools only some machinists and T/D left
  4. According to the national neg. team for trades last contract the UAW has a agreement to replace trades that took the buyout one for one until the trades to prod. list is exhuasted then if spots remain its the companies discretion to fill or not fill remaining spots for instance if there were 50 millwright spots and only 45 trade to prod millwrights to fill them then the remaining 5 may not get filled....welcome to loophole 101...
  5. Wait a minute lets see here 40,000 x 2000 = 80,000,000 and 23 x 40000 = 920,000 so how you get these billion dollar numbers??????? Please check your math before you start pointing fingers bro!!!! I think your fingers added one to many zeros.
  6. At the end it mentions people wondering 'Who deserves a raise in this economy?".....Well who deserves bonuses and large stock options?.....Alan M. apparantly cause i havent heard Wall St. or the media crying out UNFAIR! He gets millions...10 times as much as the CEO for Toyota or Honda...Mr. "I'm just fine where I am". Why cant people wake up out of their "media" coma and see things with their own eyes and see how workers all over, not just us UAW members, have been abused by corporate greed and politicians who take the money and turn their heads. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!! THEY HAVE KILLED ALL THE MIDDLE CLASS!!!! We used to be the top of that, no longer. Now the "new middle class" starts at 200,000 a year or better and who makes that? Yep you guessed it upper managers....WOW imagine that. Im ashamed of the people of this country, hard working Americans who have let this happen by "following the herd", voting for greedy politicians, and downing the unions at every turn. Im ashamed of the corporate heads as well that do this to us time after time all in the name of profit...but not taking sacrifice themselves. Did their fathers or grandfathers work as tradesmen, work in a factory, work their fingers to the bone for their future??? And this is how they repay that memory....screw those same hard working Americans till 70% of this country are in poverty level wages. But what do I know Im just one of those "spoiled UAW workers".
  7. Again someone who doesnt know me if you want to know how i arrived at DTP ask. Dont assume here let me help you.....i left saline due to a pending sale to JC so i came to DTP voluntarily pay cut and all because i had previous production time before my apprenticeship so yea i asked for this for my family and job security...but my trade was put on hold until some positions opened up. But Ford hasnt done that they have been cutting trades even though most locals are doing major OT for their trade. But when they do need extra they dont put on perm. positions just "temp" ones where they dictate how long, no matter what the posting says, for instance if it says 60 days they can keep you for a week and send ya back or keep you for 6 months and not ask you if you want to or not cause you dont matter. And what happens when you get sent back u ask? You get placed in general labor pool wherever they need you not back to your old job or classification if you have one. Where if you get on C crew and can hold other shifts you cant bump till Feb. So you get screwed both ways how would u like that???? So like i told Jeff you dont know us so dont act like you do!
  8. Well Jeff let me ask you if Ford adds product are they are gonna put tradesmen on out of the goodness of their heart??? Have they done this yet in production or trades???? Dont hurt yourself thinking about it ill answer it for you...HELL NO!!! They have added product to Van Dyke and Sterling have they added trades or prod....NO. How bout when they added to Romeo....NO again! When are you gonna get a clue FORD DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT US!!!! Prod or trades they dont care if we dont hit them in the pocketbook and its not a "raise" its getting our former wage back i had to take a pay cut. And in case you werent reading i was talking about looking out for each other but that also isnt happening for instance trades who went to Sterling for a "temp" trade job got screwed for a year out of any overtime opportunity while Sterling trades were soaking up OT and did the UAW on the local or national level do anything?? Yep u guessed it NO! They had to put a grievance with the NLB. Here is something else.... where do you get off lecturing me or any tradesmen in production did you have to take a pay cut?..NO, did you have to watch as the only trade offerings in the past three years were only temp offers in which you are at the mercy of the company with no real union representation NO because you dont care your not a tradesman WE ARE!!!! So in the future have some respect and put yourself in our shoes and dont judge so fast like we are all just a bunch of greedy lazy assholes cause you dont know us!
  9. One problem gentlemen is the fact that we have almost 500 tradesmen out of trade is due to the last concessions we passed. After the last round of buyouts instead of backfilling those openings Ford cut those spots (almost 450 of them) and the UAW did nothing, I got the same old "Its their business they can do what they want" bit, because they were opening the contract and going to agree to concessions. So no wonder why so many of us are out of trade. I feel for my old friends at Saline cause if this sale goes through there where are those trades gonna go? So the numbers are gonna keep getting bigger and bigger. Where is it gonna end UAW???? I sure hope all of you on the national negotiators are at least getting our rate of pay back in this contract so us being in prod. hurts the company a little(albeit not much lol) because right now there is no incentive to get us back to tools cause they dont care about us complaining they just keep adding to the numbers. Me and a couple of others were the first tradesmen to arrive at the Rouge and the company and UAW didnt even know what to do I got told all kinds of different things from both sides and it changed from week to week from" you gave up your trade" to "you wont be in production more than 2yrs"...well 3yrs and still here in prod. Now we have at least 100 or better trades in the Rouge complex...and the numbers keep climbing ask the tradesmen who got reduced from the frame plant but i bet they are at least making trade wage unlike the rest of us. All u active tradesmen better take some time and start caring cause this could be u!! Maybe stop worrying about your 7/12s and start seeing the big picture, FORD WANTS TO GET RID OF U!!! Start seeing what you can do to help bring back tradesmen from production make some calls, talk to your committeemen, make some noise instead of watching out for your own ass...this is a union right??? Because if you keep up with the" i just want my overtime" bit i may be seeing you working next to me on the line sooner than you maybe realize. Keep that in mind.
  10. To answer your questions: 1. Then they would have seen their sub weeks and tap weeks go down the drain left with nothing after they are gone...so allowing them to go to production is a good thing even though it sucks 2. Their prod. seniority freezes...like myself i had 6 yrs on the floor before my apprenticeship so when i came back to production i got to keep my seniority...those hired off the street into the trade dont have that luxury so they assume 2007 no matter what 3.Guess i already answered that...with my story above..lol hope this was helpful....
  11. Well just goes to show you what u know, Im a millwright working in production not in my trade, so yea Im working but me, and the 20 or so other millwrights in zone 1 just want to get back to our tools and do what we have been trained for. The company has been dragging their feet adding trades even though they are shorthanded in most facilities. The union hasnt done much either to get us back either. I hope the national negotiators during the contract talks fix this and get us our trade jobs back!! Never in the history of this company has so many tradesmen been out of their trade and placed in production or not placed at all, last number I heard was 350 assorted trades off their tools....this has to change!!! I know what you are gonna say....just want to be lazy and ride around on carts and drink coffee...WRONG!!!! I want to get back to the only job I have ever cared about and enjoyed doing...working with my hands and using my skills to solve problems. If you have never felt like this I truly feel sorry for you maybe next time its offered you will take a trades entry test at your plant and have a chance to experience this. Until then spare me the poor me "trades are lazy assholes and deserve what they get" routine most on here cry about. And I wont go on about all the lazy asses filing medical to get the easy jobs, or the union pets getting their buds to get them those jobs too....etc. etc. etc........
  12. Gentlemen the 1.5 rule is a local addon to the heirachy placement rules set down in the national contract which are in layman's terms1) layed off personnel 2)any "protective status" personnel (that would include any trades back to prod. from other facilities) 3) zone placement by seniority....and so on. But here at the Rouge all trades are centrally located at the M + C Unit located in the Engine plant and are not "assigned" to the buildings in the Rouge (ie final assembly) but loaned to them. So we as tradesmen working in final or other buildings in production and since we have never worked in the M + C unit the rules are bypassed so to speak so it goes from rule 1 and skips to rule 3. This is only at the Rouge because of its central maint. if you were at say Mich. Assy. it would follow the steps in order. The 1.5 rule reinstates the placement rules for the Rouge exactly how they are supposed to be and no longer skips over us tradesmen who are in production from other facilities so now if a job opening comes to the Rouge, after layed off tradesmen we get first crack (by seniority of course) at the position before it goes to the "Zone list". Hope this was helpful if you have any other questions feel free to contact me on here or i currently work on B crew at final in the frame yard driving hilo ask for "Moose". May we all get back to our tools soon!!!
  13. Hey numb nuts, if they only offered 40 hrs why would you drive 60+ miles to work if you didnt have too. I live in adrian and I didnt get offered, but if I did only get offered a straight 40 hell no but if I knew there was OT...hell yea I would work but in this shit hole they dont tell you anything...fucking CIA bullshit keeping everything secret. So next time you decide to rant on about us "hicks' know your facts...and dont give me that line "move closer then" bullshit. Cant even if i wanted too cant sell my house here just like everyone else in this fuckin state so i cant move and since this wasnt my original plant i live out in BFE and do the drive...and i dont bitch about the drive its what i have to do for my family. Maybe you should put yourself in our place and be a union brother instead of being a selfish ass and think of only yourself!!!!!
  14. First off its just how the contract has always been worded for "heirarchy placement" this is nothing new added its just never been used because we have never had this many trades working production ever!! Second skilled working production at AAI, sheldon, saline, or wayne would have first crack at openings at the facility that they are in before everyone in the zone so whats the big deal. Its already been done at other locations! GET OVER IT ALREADY!!!! This process has only changed for the Rouge because they had local language that blocked this process, now they dont ,so the only ones that were getting screwed were the tradesmen working production at the Rouge
  15. i believe you are talking about the rule that if you are a skilled tradesman working production at lets say dearborn and dearborn has a opening in your trade that you would get the position before it went up in the zone , its the "placement heirarchy" first recall people on layoff, second tradesmen on "protected status" working production, third posting in zone.... been in effect for awhile now but up until recently the rouge had local language preventing this because of their central M and C unit they have recently changed this and gone with the rest of ford and now follow the "placement heirarchy" to the letter.... hope this was helpful
