  1. You know as they say - "Even a broken clock is right twice a day" I know that isn't quite a true in our digital world, but of yesteryear that was very true. I guess with law changes and our DST dates changing they found it too hard or unsure to program the future date changes into the system so they removed them. What if in 4 years lawmakers change the dates for DST - and you have an old MFT system and you aren't getting current updates - this still gives you the ability to make it current, but adjusting the clock one hour vs an automated change that happens on the wrong weekends. Also - the GPS clocks don't distinguish or give any DST information I don't believe. They strictly give a time signal like UTC and your device - in this case MFT has to decide how many hours (which time zone) you are from the UTC offset and likewise for DST to make the correct display.
  2. Xplan pricing is for the car only. If you believe it is for more then go to partner.ford.com and look up the price of your other items. You won't really find them there. What the dealer might have done for you is given you the same xplan discount - roughly 6 % or whatever it figures out to be on those other items, but issue is that all add on's have a TON of dealer mark up in them and they negotiate them all the time. So while it is maybe a nice gesture and you are happy with that discount being extended then you win, but that dealer will also negotiate much deeper discounts on those add on items if you push him and he will still make money.
  3. Scooter - wondering the same thing. Several have referenced Job 2 - but I can't find anyone that can say it definitely started - lots of assumptions. My car was built on Friday and Etis was updated with that date today, but the details are not there yet, only the build date. While putting other VIN's in Etis though I did notice that several of them said Job 1 build. Wondering since your car was built recently - if you go put your VIN in Etis - look through the long list - which it is known not all of them are right, but look and see if you have a note about Job 1 or Job 2 build? http://www.etis.ford.com - Click the Vehicle tab and key your VIN there - see what we might learn. Thanks !
  4. That information is a placeholder until the system has real information about your VIN. Search around these threads about Etis - apparently it is an outdated system in the US - but used for some UK information. Our car information still shows up by VIN, but even after you are built and you get details they aren't all 100% correct. It's main use is to just kind of know when your car is built - the details will populate within just a day or two.
  5. Very interesting find on the cupholder ambient lighting. The kit really reads as though you add it to a car that doesn't have ambient lighting at all though vs one that already has it. Would suck to buy the car with the ambient lighting - then still have to buy an accessory to finish it all the way out. Just to see if it would show up on the Ford Configuration I went and built my car again - and it did not show up at the end. The configurator does now reflect the higher prices for the Drivers assist package, Moonroof, and Park Assist - total of $400 increase. I knew this was coming as they showed up on my Window sticker when it was available last week.
  6. If this really holds true and the Fusion on order- which should be being built as we speak - had a 3/8 build date, comes with the buttons vs touch - it won't be beyond me to ask the dealer to swap the panel out with another car he has on the lot. Seems small - but being very honest - it was the technolgy and those buttons which kind of sealed the deal. Is it a deal breaker? - truly almost could be. We were looking at the Fusion and then the VW CC - after stopping to look at and drive the Fusion - we never even went on to the CC. If I don't have the fun stuff - there may be another option out there. Of course - it has to be determined if the panels are truly swappable and compatible - should just be a single wire harness clip on the back side of it I would think. 99.999% of the people that buy this car, especially the ones that buy off the lot probably won't know much difference nor care. Those of us here that obsess over the car, the build and delivery are such a small percentage - someone buying off the lot later would never know the difference.
  7. It is hopeful this is a software issue. Agree with Barsroom - winow switches aren't direct inline electrical switches like they were in yesteryear. They are just a signal to the computer to tell it to do something - such as raise or lower the window. In this case - some software switch or something is getting set wrong after the action and that prevents the next action from working properly until reset. Would think this is something they can surely find and fix with a flash to the computer.
  8. I just inquired from Rebecca on the Ford Facebook page this week - My question: Hi Rebecca - I have a 2013 Fusion on order and I'm curious what the plan is for integration of the Applink with MFT? I'm just really lost as to how this product can even be on the market and you push it if it doesn't integrate with your top of the line system. Thanks for your help. Her response: Congrats on your soon-to-be new Fusion! Right now we're working on releasing AppLink to our Gen1 SYNC systems (that don't already have it). Currently, there are other enhancements we are focusing on for MyFord Touch. Once those are fulfilled, we'll look in to adding AppLink. She even included the smiley - makes you feel better doesn't it. I give her credit for shooting me a straight answer - but it really wasn't the answer as to when either. So everyone can interpret as you want, but I interpret it as they are just trying to work out the bugs and make it work as advertised before they can even think about adding advance features.
  9. Agree - I don't know that I've seen a car from the factory with 2 such disctinctly different wheels. I agree think the H is much more a sporty look and the Y is a bit more on the luxury look. At least Ford has let you tailor the look from the factory. Both are nice. Most factory wheels just leave a lot to be desired. I don't have anything against the H - but just don't think there is enough wheel - too open for my tastes. I love the Y. Should have one of the first Black ones in Dallas with Y's. Supposed to be built on Friday.
  10. Probably something like a DRL. As cool as this car is - when you look around Ford has really missed the boat in the US for DRL's. GM's been doing it for 12 years or more - it is all about safety. But the last couple of years - the different brands - especially Audi, Lexus and a couple of others have really taken off in the DRL and LED's to make their "mark" on their brand. That is about the only thing so far that I see the Fusion has missed out on - other than maybe cooled seats - but I know those are available in the MKZ.
  11. What information do we really have about job2? I've not seen anything concrete - I know the Titanium we ordered we got the 19" Y spoke and someone said that was a job 2 part. I also mentioned I've now got the window sticker and there are price increases on 3 options as of last week - build date of this Friday. Just curious what more concrete job2 information we might have that I missed. Thanks,
  12. Welcome back from vacation and thank you for the tracking service. VIN - 3FA6P0K91DR267161
  13. Best of luck and be sure and give an update. I would think it would get to Phoenix PDQ. Just a few hours down the tracks.
  14. Had not gotten to that level yet. Only agreement was so far was that he would at least match another dealers offer which was $500 below invoice. I've got the $1500 rebate and $750 cash. Increases are what they are - I figure I'll have them try to split the $400 increase and I want them to throw in the lighted door sill plates. If I get that I'm happy with the deal.
  15. Cool - good deal. You made me go double check everything though ! That isn't a bad thing once in a while. For website still shows both 110 and rain sense as part of the package. Should be OK. Now just another $400.
  16. If you don't have it, been a while since I read the whole thread - this will help with the VIN information: https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/vin_tools/default.asp
  17. That option is there- it is the one with the $200 increase from $1000 to $1200. I can handle a small increase, but will be pissed if there is an increase and a reduction of features that come with it - especially that and the rain sense wipers. I know that I have seen these listed at the top of a couple of stickers in the list of feartures. Maybe they just aren't listed there if they are part of an options package.
  18. Ordered a Fustion Titanium on Feb 12, got the VIN on 2/22 and a build date of 3/4. This week build date updated to 3/11 - then yesterday got the "Sent to Plant". Window sticker finally available this morning - VIN - 3FA6P0K91DR267161 http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=3FA6P0K91DR267161 The Window sticker shows a $100 price increase on 2 options - Moonroof, Active Park Assist, and a $200 increase on the Driver Assist Package. I just build the car again on ford.com and the prices have not gone up there. I also do not see the 110 outlet listed at the top and it typically is for cars that have it and it should be on this one. It looks like the demand of these options is going to drive more profit. Could this be connected to Job2 in any way? Maybe signify the start of that? or just random increases? Need to finish going through the information at the top to see what else might have changed. Need to find a Gas Titanium sticke to compare to it - will find one from the ford locator pages.
  19. Thanks a ton for the info. Just in the same boat, once you know it is being built, you want to know where it is and when you'll get your hands on it. Last summer I drove from Dallas to CA - there were many trains - they haul at near highway speeds and it is really nothing but long and flat from AZ to Dallas - so almost find 2 weeks a long time, but that is what I'll plan on. I know it has to wait to be loaded, has to transfer trains in the yards along the way, it all really makes sense, but waiting is just a hard thing. I'll try not to wear out the 800 number once it gets to a rail car - but thank goodness it is automated.
  20. There are several people here that have shared their methods, this thread - http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/52708-useful-resources-for-those-joining-the-ford-family/?hl=tracking has tried to locate most of the information in one place. Do a forum search for tracking and you'll find the different methods most have used. Inkblot - would you mind sharing what the delivery time was for your car from the build date? My build date is given as 3/11. Window sticker is still not showing up, so I'm hoping for that tomorrow.
  21. Thanks. That seemed logical just wanted to check. I figure Ft Worth/Saginaw would be an issue it is one of the busiest train crossroads anywhere.
  22. Curious if anyone in the Dallas area has tracked your order from the factory? What route and how long once on the train? Thanks,
  23. Just looked and wiki covers it pretty well - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tire_code You can take the tire information and start to combine it with final drive ratios to know exactly how fast your car will drive in each gear for any given motor RPM's. This is a big help if you change tire sizes for winter/summer type use and don't want / can't have the computer flashed to adjust for the tire size. You'll then know how far off your speedometer is for a given tire size compared to factory tire.
  24. No - 18" won't work on 19" rims. That measurement is the actual diameter - so they won't fit. Tires are an interesting beast. There are several good web sites that get into the nitty gritty and will explain all of the details better than I can, but on the measurements of tires and wheels the diameter of the wheel or opening of the tire is designated in inches and the rest of the tire measurements are in millimeters. One of the additional sizing numbers is the width of the tire and the other is a ratio of that width to determine how tall the tire is ultimately giving you the circumference. I haven't done the homework and looked at all of the tire options for the gas Fusions, but my guess is for each different size wheel the tires fluctuate in size to end up giving them all the same circumference and hence then all will go the same speed at the same engine RPM's. Since the Hybrids seem to have 17" wheels - the tires probably end up being smaller circumference than a gas model, but that probably has something to do with how easy it is to make the whole car go. I don't know those theories and logic though about the hybrid drive trains.
