Yes, my understanding of this latest offer is that Electricians, HVAC, and Steam Engineers can retire with a buy-out offer only if there are a surplus of those trades with-in their placement zones. Hope this helps you out with this info I posted on the buyouts.
The following information is a supplement to the information you received regarding the Special Program and Special Incentive available to eligible* UAW-represented Ford Motor Company hourly non-skilled and skilled trades employees.
* Special note to skilled trades employees in the Electrician, Stationary Steam Engineer, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Maintenance and Installation classifications: You will be eligible for a Special Program/Incentive only if there are surplus employees within your classification within your Preferential Placement Zone. Furthermore, within each Preferential Placement Zone, the maximum number of Special Program/Incentive offerings will be limited by classification to the number of surplus employees in the classification. After the conclusion of the Open Window Period on January 22, 2010, the National Job Security, Operational Effectiveness, and Sourcing Committee (NJSOESC) will determine the number of employees eligible under this provision.
