  1. That's awesome! Making it even harder for me to keep my SHO. I have been waiting to see if the new Sport was gonna show up and what the specs would be. Built one on the configurator last night. We'll see how long I can hold out!
  2. Haha, it is better than the angry bee hive sound we have now! I would love to have that, "Belly Growl of Doom!"
  3. As long as we can speculate on how they managed the cram the 5.2L V8 from the Shelby GT350 into the PIU and we all lived happily ever after? Now, that would great!
  4. Excellent and thanks! I too grew up in the Crown Vic and Caprice (21 years so far) and while the Crown Vic had its quirks I had not problem taking it anywhere. We transitioned to the "Taurus" and a minor mix of the Tahoe thrown in a couple years ago. The Taurus is great other than the small interior and trunk space. The Tahoe has plenty of room but, driving with the "Nanny" state traction control was a pain in the butt! I'm 6'3" 270 so more room is a plus. Thank you again for your response.
  5. I just found out last night that we are replacing our fleet of Interceptor Sedans with the utility interceptor. I have driven one for one lap at our driving school and liked it better than the sedan. Anyone here have any long term patrol use experience? The sedan is very tight when getting in or out and cramped when riding two in a car. Thanks in advance!
  6. Our patrol divisions are now almost all PI's with a handful of CVPI's and Tahoes. There are two PIU's but, only one of those are in patrol. I attended a Tahoe driving school and they had a PIU that they let us try out as well. The Tahoe wins hands down when it comes to room obviously. They run like a scalded cat and handle well for such a giant tank. The traction control/stability control is the biggest drawback for me. It needs to be dialed back some(a lot). The PIU had massive understeer which I haven't really noticed in the PI.Otherwise it is great. Not having looked at the numbers, it seems roomier than the PI too. The PI is liveable as far as space goes. It could be better though. The side to side room is cramped when there is only one Officer in the car. We sometimes have to double up Officers due to car shortages which makes it really tight. Getting in/out of the PI is not pretty at all. You have to twist and turn just right. If I had to choose, I would take the PIU over the PI anyday. It's a toss up between the PIU and Tahoe for me. It is rumored that we are going all Tahoe. Our driving instructors want the PIU. Our equipment services manager was fired and our chief recently resigned for greener pastures so we'll see what happens.
  7. Love mine! 2013 with performance package. I would really love to have a manual transmission in it!
  8. That's funny! No mods for me yet. I just about had a heart attack when I saw that exhaust was $1200. Maybe after I win the lottery.
  9. Thanks! Unfortunately, I am training a rookie so I haven't had a chance to drive it. I can report though that the passenger seat is much more comfortable than the Crown Vic. A Prius patrol car? I just can't see that working out too well.
  10. Loved the SVO. Unfortunately I couldn't afford one at the time. Long Live the EXP, oops, I mean SVO!
  11. My first brand new car was an '86 EXP! I just graduated from basic training at Ft Knox and had a whole week of leave before reporting to Ft Hood with no car. Luckily I had a nice $4,000 bonus check in my pocket. I wanted the Escort Gt but, there was not a single one to be found in the surrounding states. I loved this thing and drove the heck out of it for five years. Actually piled seven of my platoon mates in it to get them back to the fort one night after their ride left them.
