  1. Any ideas when the car mags will have complete write-ups on the Focus? January editions just came out. Production starting in late January. March editions?
  2. . That's good news. I did ask the manager at my dealership, who placed the order on my Titanium, and he said he checked with Ford Regional and "no holds" at this point. Let us know when your order is placed, so the rest of us can check with our dealerships!
  3. Hey, great idea. Wish I'd thought of that. When I order the after-market headlights for my $27,000 Focus, I can order a coffee can exhaust to go with it. Maybe a body kit, too.
  4. Will do. The dealership manager where I ordered my car was going to check with Ford's regional office about the delayed availability of the parking package. However, I watched him put the order into the bank, and when he put in the specific code and later sent the order, there were no flags or alerts. He said normally there would be something come back if there was a problem with the order. But, I'll see if he found out additional information.
  5. The halogen headlamps on the 2010+ Ford Fusion (Americas) have excellent reach, intensity, and pattern uniformity. Some good points on headlights, but I take exception with the above statement, being the owner of a Fusion Sport. I came out of a V6 Honda Accord Coupe into the Fusion. For the first month, I felt like the Fusion had CFLs for low beams. Same is true now after driving my 03 SVT Euro and jumping into the Fusion. High beams are OK. I do agree that the new Focus could have good headlights with Halogens. We'll see. But, again, with all the technology in a $27K-plus car (Fusion or Focus), lack of projector beams and/or HIDs is an oversight and unfortunate.
  6. Ford seems to have a blind spot (no pun intended) on headlights. The Fusion Sport doesn't have or offer as an option HID headlights. Now, the 2012 Focus "global car" doesn't even have projector beams, HIDs, or LEDs. This in a $27,000+ topped out vehicle, if you order all the high-tech, electronic goodies such as parking control, My Ford Touch, nav, Sync. I certainly would pay extra for HIDs, having had them in a Honda Accord. It's kind of like ordering a great meal in a 5-star restaurant and finding your folk is dirty.Close, but another Ford over site none the less.
  7. Anyone seen photos of the 2012 Focus line up at the LA Auto Show? Road & Track magazine has some but don't see any of the sedan.
  8. Check the bottom of the Packing Guide, posted on another topic on this forum, under SEL & Titanium options. Also saw a mention about "late availability" somewhere else.
  9. I went with Ingot Silver. Like you, I wanted to see that color on a car, so I found an Ingot Silver Mustang at the dealership. I think most of the Focus colors, except perhaps Blue Candy, is available on other Ford models. Not perfect, but you can get some idea of how the color looks in person. If I had ordered the hatch, I probably would have gone with a brighter, sportier color. (I have a red SVT Euro.) Since the sedan is more conservative, the silver looked like a good fit. OT: Order went in with parking technology package but there's some info pointing to "late availability." If so, the dealer will take that option off so it won't be delayed. Want that car now!
  10. Ordered my 2012 Titanium Sedan today. All options except the red or black seat color. Who would have guessed you could spend $27,000 + on a Focus? While at the dealership, I played with My Ford Touch in an Edge. That's going to be a terrific option- if the software works as planned.
  11. Time to make decisions on your new ride.
  12. At 23K, my Sport (all options except AWD & navi) has been flawless. This is a great car. Only thing I'd like is HID headlights.
  13. I thought with all the tech options available for the SEL & Titanium that the BLIS system would be an option. Not seeing it mentioned anywhere on the order guide, I guess not. Anybody heard differently? My Fusion Sport has BLIS and it's habit forming!
  14. Any idea when Ford will release the prices of the option packages?
  15. Ice Capades, Any idea when option prices will be released?
  16. Agree. $26-plus K for a Focus is a stretch, I think. While the fully loaded Titanium probably better suits me, I'll probably stay with the Fusion Sport and rethink the ST as my "toy.'
  17. Saw a really nice, 4-color, 12-page brochure at my local dealership yesterday. Titled "The 2012 Focus-Start more than a Car, " it has photos of all the U.S. models, S through Titanium, and all 11 wheel options. Unlike some of the early photos from the NAIAS and Paris auto shows, none of the models shown in the brochure have projector beam headlights. Of course, we've known HIDs aren't an option. The 18-inch Titanium handling package wheel is the 5-spoke shown on the burgundy hatchback photo that's been around since the car was announced in January. After seeing the photos of the actual car and figuring the estimated cost of a fully loaded Titanium, I'm rethinking my interest in this vehicle. Several reviews of the Fiesta have mentioned that it is underpowered. I wonder, too, if the 2.0 Focus engine may be the same. For a few more hundred dollars, the Fusion Sport may be a much better buy than the Titanium with every option.
  18. Any photos out yet of wheel choices? And any photos of the production or pre-production U.S. Focus?
  19. I guess it is safe to assume if the 5-door shots that have been around since NAIAS show projector beam (non-HID) that the same headlight assembly would be available on the top-of-the-line sedans. Certainly wish HIDs were an option.
  20. Any new photos other than the "stock" shots of the sedan & five-door that were released with the ST news from Paris? Particularly interested in seeing a sedan with projector headlamps and the sedan in Titanium trim.
  21. Agree on the headlights. I hadn't dug down deeply enough to find the omission of the HIDs. I'm currently driving a 2010 Fusion Sport and have an 03 Focus SVT Euro. There's no comparison between the two. Doesn't the top of the line Mazda 3 have HIDs?
  22. Thanks. Now, we can look forward to pricing. I'm going fully loaded Titanium - small luxury car!
  23. >09/06/10 - 2012 MY Order Bank Open Date Did the order bank open & wouldn't that mean that the order guide/options list accompany the opening?
