Well,i guess if Ford want's to get rid of alll the seniority job's i'll just have to play the game and spend my remaining year's on k-14.Over the year's i have watched alot of people walk around and do much of nothing and getting lot's of overtime in the process.Perhap's the last 4-5 years of my time at frod will be spent sitting in the computer lab.Or maybe i can act like i have an intrest in helping my fellow worker and run for a union position and spend the last year's talking in circle's.I'm afraid we are in for a BIG sell out in the next contract.5-6 dollar wage reduction.As soon as Ford dangle's a nice bonus check in our face's we will forget about who's going to pay for our pension's and take the bait.

Our 707 reporter is so far behind that anything you read in it is already known throughout the plant by the time you get it.Future product?? really?? we don't even know if we are off 1 or 2 week's for July shutdown.The company and union like to keep us @ oakville in the dark as long as posssible.In fact has anyone from the company or the union come out with a letter telling us why we are only working 8 hour's?Ya i v'e heard the rumour's about part shortage's but it isn't official.Also didn't have hour's or job's posted on Thursday when i left.Supposed to be posted by 2pm on thursday.

That is why it is up to each one of us on the shop floor to fill out the cards that our plant chair put in our 707 reporter.Tell him we don't want outside workers in our plant anymore! tell him we want to keep our premium jobs(repairmen,mpl,etc) because we don't want to work on the assembly line our entire time at ford.Enough is enough it's quite clear to me that OUR national union doesn't care about us the membership,all they really want is more members at whatever cost.Including us the first tier worker's.
  4. When did this newsletter come out? I haven't seen one in month's.The last one i saw said nothing about 10 hrs.just wondering.

I heard the japan part shortage shouldn't effect us much.We are currently on 8hr schedule until after shutdown,reason iwas told by the union was because of the lack of pistons for the engines we use.I asked one of the launch team members about new product and he said only a re-fresh on the flex and mkt.Nothing new until 2015.It would be nice if the company(plant manager) kept us informed of the situation.Like usual Ford likes to keep us in the dark about everything and then expect us to turn our lives upside down at the drop of a hat.

So your plan is to what? sit back and keep letting the company and its executives tell you that you and your wage are the reason for all fords problems?Gimme a break,please tell me you are not that naive.Does ford think that the people that are earning $14hr to build these cars will actually be able to afford to purchase the products?If i was the public i would be asking mulally and his co-horts why after all the employees have given back to the company didn't the prices of cars come down.

Ya thats the answer,lets fill all the plants with these $14 an hour workers than see how willing they are to go on strike for your pensions,my guess is not very willing.After what we have all put up with over the last 6 or so years we should have all been offended by the bonuses paid out to the executives and ready to fight for our fair share!

Between the uaw and the caw the only thing that these guys (leadership) cares about is membership numbers.They don't really care if you can't afford to get ahead in life,as long as the union can add members at whatever the cost.If they cared about the people they represent they would'nt even entertain new jobs at lower wages.It is time all of us union brothers and sisters UAW and CAW stood up to these companies as one and tell them we aren't putting up with this shit anymore!
  10. They can't even supply the edge plant in oakville with enough engines to run more than 8hrs...poor planning and if the rumour of being 65,000 engines behid is correct it will cost ford lost customers.
  11. maybe gary beck in his new role of the head of ford council can bargain to get our 2nd week of shutdown back. Trimdingdong probably loves that he can sell his vacation,plus the extra week this year.

Wow thats alot of product!! don't want to be a doubter but i thought we were only promised a platform at the negotiations (t believe the global c ) i also thought the c max and kuga had homes already.Hope you are right with your predictions or rumours we need something, the flex is or will be on its last legs now that the explorer is on the market and competitively priced.
