  1. Thank you for the TSB. I have a question: How many TSB's are there for the 2012 Focus?
  2. Load up your music library??? Did Ford Credit ever consider that not everybody is an Apple lemming?
  3. Which ones did you order online? FWIW, here are the prices for new wheels (fordparts.com): 17" alloy (std on Titanium) - $391.73 17" machined and painted - $411.97 18" alloy - $474.88 17" polished aluminum - $582.12
  4. Regarding the clock issue, do you have GPS time sync turned on?
  5. I agree. Actually, this is kinda funny. Some people that don't have the engine cover want one and I am now wondering if I should remove mine. In any case, I wouldn't assume anything as to why it was deleted. It's possible that the engine cover was removed for a good reason (such as something heat related).
  6. Of course a new car may have some problems. My frustration is really with the dealer for not following up with me. As I said previously, if the car is not perfect, I expect the dealer to do their best to resolve any issues.
  7. While going over the car (Titanium 5dr) at the dealer, I noticed that the round cover (where the ignition lock would normally be) is missing. "Can't find it... wait... we'll order one thru the parts dept. and send it to you... wait... the parts dept. can't find the part number... wait... we'll try to find the part number and order one, I'll follow up and call you later". Later, on the drive home, I noticed that the driver vent control (to the left of the touchscreen) is not working. I can turn the knob but the vent remains closed. The passenger side works fine. I call the salesman. "I'll make an appointment for you with the service department and call you back." When I called the salesman, it was slightly before 5:00 PM. The dealership closes at 9:00 PM. He was supposed to call me and let me know if they were able to order the round cover and to let me know about the service appointment. He never called. Cars deteriorate over time, so when someone buys a new car (and I paid cash), they want it to be perfect. If it's not perfect, they expect the dealer to do their very best to make it right. Right now, I'm not happy with the car and I'm certainly not happy with the dealer. P.S. Does anyone know if service and parts information for this car exists as of now?
  8. The winner of a drag race is the person that gets to the "finish line" first (without "red-lighting"). Drag races are often won with a slower E.T. and a faster reaction time.
  9. Driver reaction time has nothing to do with 1/4 mile times.
  10. Sorry, I don't get the point (the A/V input is an advertised feature). Is there any reason why an iPhone (or any other device with an A/V output) shouldn't work?
  11. I understand some of your frustrations considering that you currently do not have an ETA but... What is fair? There are people that placed their order well before yours but your car was built before theirs. My point is this: I am not upset in the slightest (even though I placed my order more than 5 months ago) because I had no real expectations about the entire process. I plan to keep this car for a long time so the important thing is the quality, not getting it fast.
  12. Thank you very much. I just got the VIN because the dealer hasn't contacted me since I placed my order (on 12/11/10), so I called him yesterday. I am a bit surprised at the ~2 week shipping time. I knew trains were slow but...
  13. Location request: 1FAHP3N28CL154992 Ordered in December... just got the VIN today. Thank you in advance.
  14. The Titanium comes with the Sony sound system. The navigation option comes in the form of a SD card (i.e. no hardware is changed or added).

    Rebates?

Regarding the Focus Technology Rebate, is $500 deducted from the price of the car or do you get a check from Ford or...?
  16. Thank you for your reply. Do you know what the typical time is between the dealer receiving the build date and the actual build date? I am assuming that the build date is typically scheduled X number of days in advance of the actual build date.
  17. What I would like to know is typically how far in advance a dealer would know the arrival date for a pre-ordered car. For example, if a car were to arrive at the dealer on April 1, when would I be informed of this? Hopefully it is a minimum of 30 days.
  18. Assuming that the engine has a knock sensor, I doubt whether the power keeps increasing (by timing advance) as the octane goes up. It very well may be that 91 offers no advantage over 89. In any case, it's good to know that the engine is happy with 87 and can take advantage of higher octane fuel.
  19. That would be highly unlikely considering that the hatchback is the "sporty" one, both in terms of style and substance.

  21. I understand what you are saying but... For example, if it were a new "hot" car and a dealer was only getting a few of them, the dealer would (understandably) not want to sell one at below MSRP. Since I would be ordering the car, I'm not sure why a dealer wouldn't be willing to knock $500 off the MSRP considering that there are many other Ford dealers in SoCal. A dealer would have a choice of making a decent profit or nothing at all (in case I go to another dealer). One other thought: Do dealers normally have allocations for "normal cars"? In other words, if I order a new Focus from a dealer, does that mean that it would translate to one less car that they could order for their lot (and potentially sell at MSRP)?
  22. To those that have ordered a 2012: Did you pay MSRP or were you able to negotiate a better price? Is it unreasonable to expect a dealer to go lower than MSRP for a car that is ordered?
  23. There was a silver sedan that was pretty much fully loaded. In fact, I believe it was the only Focus there that you could actually sit in (and play around with the electronics).
