Thanks Cyberdman. Interesting thing, I hadn't noticed "New Boston" in the shipment info in the other F-150 threads looked at recently. A search for "Boston" in this thread showed only Mustangs and a single Escape shipped though there. Any idea why my F-150 wouldn't be shipped from Dearborn Truck like all the other F-150's?

According to KBB, there are three package discounts for the XLT: Convenience, Chrome & Tow Pkg Discount $1500, Convenience & Tow Pkg Discount $750, Work Solutions Pkg Discount $500. All three require the Tow Package. But look at it this way, by adding the Tow Package to the Convenience and Chrome Packages you are still saving $1125 over buying the cost of buying the Convenience and Chrome Packages separately.

They just had a shutdown two weeks ago (Jan 24 - 28) due to parts shortages. Are you referring to this, or is DTP slated to shut down again?

Well, the good thing about Toyota's issues (at least for consumers) is that the resulting rebates push Ford into offering the same. Which is great when you are looking to get up to $5250 in rebates on a new 2011 F150, depending on your location.

Interesting. I found very little on the Ford version of this nav radio, and not much more on the XNV-770BT, the Sony nav radio that I'm guessing the Ford product is based on. There are a few user reviews on Amazon and Crutchfield on the XNV-770BT but them seem to concentrate only on the nav / video part and ignore the audio.

So how is the EcoBoost in terms of maintenance? I have a tendency to wait a bit too long between oil changes, and I'm concerned that I might get punished much more severely for doing this with the EcoBoost versus the "standard" 5.0L. Also, does routine maintenance (tune-ups, etc.) become more complicated and more expensive with the EcoBoost?

Well, the good news is it looks like DTP will be turned back on Monday (per the employees forum). Crank out some FX4s soon, please.

Does the DTP shutdown affects all F150 production, or just certain trim lines or cabs? In other words, do DTP and KCAP all make the same stuff or are certain combos specific to each plant? (I'm on the lookout for a 2011 FX4 with a 6.5 foot bed myself and these seem to be a bit scarce here on the east coast.)

Looks like a bad week to try and buy an F-150. There's nothing in locals dealer's stock to match what I want (FX4 SCrew with 6.5 bed, fabric with Plus and rear view camera OR leather, and *no* 20" wheels), and now nothing new is coming in. There were a few FX4s in my region that were pretty close to what I wanted, but they disappeared over the weekend and I would have to buy a moonroof and those blasted 20s if i wanted an FX4 now. (I'd rather not order one as I need it by the end of March, plus i have a coupon that expires mid-March.) I guess I can just hope that the February rebates match January's.
