Agreed, did not realize how small the XC90 was until I sat in the Ford. Growing Kids = Need more Room.

Too Funny I am trading in my 2007 XC90 and also getting a 2011 Limited Explorer. We have ordered our Explorer with the 2nd row buckets as well. They do fold flat (at least enough from my perspective) but the optional center console DOES NOT COME OUT. If you were to remove it you would have a exposed metal floor under the console as the carpeting is cut around the console. As a result, I decided not to go with the 2nd row console and save a$100 .

You bring up a good point good customer service is hard to come by and easily worth the extra bucks in the long run.

Also if you log onto the Ford Partner Website and then click search dealer inventories it will show you the XPlan Price. Just find a Explorer with comparable equipment and it will give you a good ballpark figure.

I inquired about this function from the deal and they told me that the latest Verizon USB Wireless network cards (3G) will turn the car into a mobile hotspot. It was a big selling point for me. Hopefully it works!?! I have to wait for my Explorer to be delivered.. it will be one of the first things I do.

New to the forum and never thought I'd say I can wait for my NEW FORD!. I used get in arguments with my high school buddies that FORD were horrible cars. In my defense, I attributed all my FORD experience to a used mid 1980 Escort (it was a death trap). Now I will openly admit to eating crow as I sat in a NEW Explorer in true amazement. I ordered one immediately. Also it feels good to see an American Company like FORD start to be contender in the industry this great land gave birth to. Thanks for all the great posts...

Sound like they are holding back on you. (my 2 cents) from what I have read on the posts and heard from my dealer it all comes done to how the dealer places the order. If they are willing to use some of their allocation for you car or not. My dealer gave me XPlan and included it as part of there allocation.

Then I will keep my fingers crossed for the both of us! LOL

Thanks for the feedback, I did not even think of the slip factor when trying to load the roof rack. It seems like a good investment especially since the Black paint maybe come a commodity soon. LOL

Try Meguiars Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner... use it all the time and it should do the trick. It works on both polished and uncoated wheels.

Has anyone purchased the rear bumper protector for the 2011 X? Does it really need it? Does it look OK installed or does it look like an after though? I'm a new guy to the forum and any feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated?

When was the " official" cut off date? I read 3/24. Does that sound right with you folks. I ordered an X in Tuxedo Black the week prior and am sweating it out.. hoping my order made the cut.
