  1. I can also confirm with my 2012 that it is the seat cushion and lower back on both driver and passenger seats. It's a great feeling with heated leather in a balmy 0 degrees F.
  2. This might just be my biased opinion, but I test drove a Corola for kicks and giggles (knowing full well I likely wouldn't buy it), the steering feels overly electronic and handles like a full size sedan (aka like a boat). It certainly probably does okay for the every day humdrum, but IMHO is a boring drive. I preordered my focus and had an it fresh off the line within the first month. I have noticed a slight shutter starting off on occasion in the cooler days of a Wisconsin winter thus far, but nothing alarming or concerning. I do about 50/50 highway/city driving and have little/no lag on highway acceleration, and no shutter or high idle in the city as others reported. I'm near 6000 mi almost 6 mo or so in. I tend to think the transmission issues are more the exception not the rule.
  3. I am leaning towards a glitch that many of you have been experiencing. I have had my 2012 Titanium since late June, and whenever I do city driving I let it get closer to empty with the plethora of gas stations around, and like clockwork, 50 MTE each time, I get a single tone with the gas light coming on, and staying on. I also have a frugal co-worker who in late July purchased the SE with the SFE package, and I know he likes to let it go as low as possible before filling up, and he also confirmed to see the light and tone at the 50 MTE mark. I do more highway driving and usually sit around 38-42 MPG on my first 3.5k, and my co-worker has a stop and go city commute and sits around 32 MPG, and we both get the chime at the same interval. I'm not trying to disprove what anyone previously said, I just think its odd ours both goes on at the same MTE mark in quite different driving patterns.
  4. I got that message too, within my first 50 miles of driving, and was fairly disappointed how easily I was able to get it. Not much of an accomplishment, but still neat!
  5. To clarify that further, My link, go to this link, and request a brochure by mail. This gave me a $750 offer. Now I did use x-plan, so this offer was not compatible for me. The private offer I used came from the fact I have an immediate family member that purchased a ford and had an offer to get a new vehicle, and this one was valid with x-plan.
  6. Pioneer, I was hoping I could enlist your help one last time! I received a previous ETA of the June 17th (seemed about right as the car is less than 150 miles away), and just spoke to my dealer today, who gave an ETA of June 27th. Just curious to see if you have the same, or any updates on status! Pics will follow pick-up! 1FAHP3J28CL166856 Cheers! Drove by the dealership tonight, since I don't completely trust them to call me when my car would arrive, and it's in their lot now with my name on the window sticker! Thanks for all the help Pioneer! I will post pics after pick up!
  7. But I think what he's saying is you can't compare a Fusion to a Contour or a Focus. A Fusion is a midsize sedan, whereas both the Contour and Focus are considered compact, so a Fusion should have more room in the back than the Contour.
  8. From what I've read about others having that issue, just pulling the fuse for the MTF will do the same. That should be a little easier to access than the battery may be!
  9. Even once it gets off the train, it doesn't help set that date in stone unfortunately any more than it was. Mine has been off the rail since Thursday I think it was now about a 2 hour drive from me, and my dealer called saying they think sometime NEXT week. ETA I got here was late this week, so there really is no knowing until it shows up, thats just how the delivery contracts run with most of these. As for the insurance claiming they need an exact date, even with a new policy I find that hard to believe. I recently switched auto companies a few months back. I called the guy in the morning, gave him my info, he said he'd call back when he got a quote together. 2 hours later he called, I liked the price, stopped by his office an hour after, paid, picked up proof of insurance and was off. But once the car arrives at your dealership, it usually takes them a day or so to prep it, which should be more than enough time to get insurance coverage.
  10. Anything above 36 months or so the Ford Credit APR is higher than you should be able to find. Although it's more work, if you do the math, its in your favor by quite a bit to finance with Ford Credit for the 90 days, get the 500 bucks, then refinance to your local financial institution. Also, if you get pre-approved by your local bank/CU, and get approved for Ford Credit in the same month it will still only count as 1 inquiry in your FICO.
  11. I made a post awhile back on the logistics of shipping a car, because most people in another thread were assuming their car would ship as quickly as FedEx. But the shipping is completely contracted out to multiple shipping companies. For yours still waiting at the assembly is related to the fact cars have an extremely low priority to get on trains. These companies prefer to stuff as much as possible into each railcar. With a vehicle, its one rail car to them that's half full. My car is sitting in a large new car "waiting" lot in Chicago after getting off the railroad, essentially waiting for one of the shipping companies contract driver to request a load to my area. So depending on the shipping company, they may not have a driver go to my area for 2 weeks. Or a driver could request a load to my area today.
  12. The $1000 being a private cash offer will not be available for anyone who did not get the offer sent to them. But then again its not hard to get a private offer. I have 3 out there in my name for $750 each, one for just simply requesting a brochure with information on the focus. The Ford credit is likely available in all areas, but their APRs were a bit high compared to local banks (at least in my area), but you also only have to finance with them for 90 days to get the $500 discount.

    2012 focus,

Are you sure you didn't get my car???? It looks identical! Except I don't see a moonroof, but I may not be able to see it from that angle! Congrats mate!
  14. Pioneer, If I could get any tracking help, it would be appreciated! 1FAHP3J28CL166856 I will certainly share pictures once she arrives! Cheers mate!
  15. I've done the iPhone before and had no better luck than the LG (Well, slightly better, but not too noticeably). The best ones, from my personal experience, are HTC and Samsung. I've had 3 HTC and 2 Samsungs in the past year and all worked beautifully with any bluetooth device!
  16. Sorry about the bad math. That's what happens when I post before having a cup of joe in the morning! Now it certainly does make a difference with the EPA estimates being that is combined. Right now nearly 90% of my driving in highway, so that seems to help the difference, because if I do have a week off work or something and do any driving around the city, the gap of what I had with regular vs e85 does widen. I do know either way you cut it, it's not saving too much, but it's more personal for me. In my area I am personal friends with owner of an ethanol plant. I prefer to patronize my local businesses, and I know he purchases his corn locally and distributes his product locally. That's my biggest reason, not necessarily the minimal cost savings.
  17. You may know, Microsoft is the one now re-writting the code, is that correct? From what I read a small company developed the code for the MFT that's currently in the Focus. I haven't been able to read of an ETA on any of that, but know technology one of the things that are rarely on time anyways, but curious if you've heard anything there yet!
  18. I work in the cellular phone market and I also had an LG (4 different devices in 6 months), and LG is notoriously bad with bluetooth. I've got a rather expensive bluetooth and car that syncs, and the LG models constantly do that with most any bluetooth device I've used it with, it's a known LG issue. So if anything, I would say its a combination with LG's poor bluetooth connectivity and poor code on the Sync, but neither is probably more to blame than the other.
  19. It does depend on the vehicle, and the price of e85 and regular. I have a flex fuel Chevy Impala 3.9 L currently, and save about 33% where I am right now on fuel costs with e85 vs regular($3.01 for e85 and $3.99 for regular), and my fuel economy went down less than 20% when I made the switch over to e85. (Went from 25 MPG on an average tank of gas, to 21 MPG). I also have 2 family members that run e85 on their flex fuel GM vehicles, and both also noticed similar declines in MPG, but at least in my area, is does save money.
  20. Tracking update please! 1FAHP3J28CL166856 Cheers!
  21. You should be happy it only takes 11 days once it gets on the train to get to you! lol I've seen some people on here wait 3+ weeks once it gets on the train. Personally I'm going to be about 15 days for mine, assuming no delays and I get it around the ETA.
  22. They may still be making them currently, but based on their inventory, they may know they hit a threshold they can't make any more at this point.
  23. That was rather quick! Congrats! :happy feet: It would seem they've gotten most of the preorders and quite a bit of inventory out, so maybe they will be making retail orders at a faster pace. Mine was ordered April 29th. Window sticker build date of May 27th. But ETIS build date May 31st, and already halfway home for delivery with ETA as June 17th. So I'm on the front end of 6 weeks from start to finish, if the ETA is correct. I would say to usually follow the dealers advice on the timeframe. They know their allocation, their priority, and at least a ball park of their ship times. My dealer gave the standard 6-10 weeks for delivery, but said they usually get theirs within 6 weeks or so, and it's been right on...so far!
  24. I'll have to try and confirm this when I get my titanium. I was built May 27th, and ETIS build date shows June 2nd, and lists engine cover in the details list.
