  1. More googling suggests this is a problem with android ICS 4.04, and that either a) leaving the phone charging while in the car, or B) using the program "Bluetooth Keepalive" will help. I haven't had a chance to try either yet, but I'll be doing that tonight.
  2. I've tried it with and without auto phonebook download. I haven't seen any way to control whether it tries to read messages. That doesn't seem to work anymore anyways. I haven't seen the phone put out any messages except the first time after pairing when it first tries to get access to the phonebook/messages (I've enabled it to not have to ask permission again). It very well could be an issue with the phone, but I haven't found anyway to modify it's behavior any more than enabling/disabling bluetooth. It seems like the phone and/or the car times out too early.
  3. The great(?) thing is that it started doing this within seconds of the salesman showing me how to pair my phone. How much more of a reset can there be than the first time the car has sync'ed to any phone?
  4. Anyone else having problems with a phone disconnecting/reconnecting over and over again every couple of minutes? I've got a galaxy s2, and nothing I've tried (reset, reverse pairing, turning off auto phone download, disabling wifi on both phone and car, placing the phone in different locations) has made a difference. If I'm playing music through the phone, it never disconnects. I'm out of ideas to try.
  5. Hard to say with "out the door" pricing, since we don't know how much tax and registration fees your state charges.
  6. For more information than you want to know about the keyless electronics, check out this pdf file https://encrypted.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=pcf7953&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCEQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sics.se%2Fphys-sec%2F2006%2Fphys-sec_giesler.pdf&ei=3mJ4UJmsIrDDyAGQnYGgDQ&usg=AFQjCNG7SLFEdOuNfN-kD09i_n1ftDkJ3g, and search for PCF7953 (the security chip inside the fob), or just go to page 33 and start reading.
  7. That one isn't exactly the same (note there is no liftgate button). Dang expensive, too. But, your link added to my knowledge. Apparently the acronym PEPS has something (I haven't figured out what yet) to do with the keys, and using it for a search term brought up this Lincoln key http://www.ebay.com/...e799b12&vxp=mtr that looks correct. The important thing is it's only ~$70. Much more affordable. If that's not the correct one, there's bound to be one available soon. (Anyone have access to the cards that came with the keys? The FCC ID # that I believe is on one of them will be what is used to tell if it's the correct one. The one on the ebay page is FCC ID M3N5WY8609). EDIT: After checking at home, that is the exact same FCC # as on the Escape key. I don't think it comes with the emergency key though. What I want to figure out next is where the security chip resides. I think it's part of the fob, not at the head of the emergency key. If that's the case, great, that'll be all I need. You only need one spare key in order to cut the teeth correctly.
  8. I'm glad you posted this. When I ordered mine, it was $1000 cash back, but I expected, and got, the upgraded $1500 cash back. I also asked about the $750 private cash offer, explaining that I never got a brochure, and would he look it up for me. Sure enough, I was listed as eligible and got the $750. So, the $2250 in incentives was $1250 better than when I place my order. I wonder if I would have got the $750 if I wouldn't have asked about it...hmmm.
  9. In the past, I've always bought a spare cheap key and programmed it with my two factory keys so I always had the necessary two programmed keys should I ever loose one of them. With my new Titanium, I have two "intelligent access keys" (IAK). I don't think there is a "cheap" spare key option with this system. Has anyone found a source for an IAK cheaper than the dealership? Surprisingly, I don't even see any on ebay. BTW, the owners manual states (on page 63): "Programming a Spare Intelligent Access Key. See your authorized dealer to have additional keys programmed to your vehicle." But, in the pdf file at this link (https://encrypted.go...WzyjgadpebH2pZQ) it explains how you can add a spare IAK if you have two previously programmed ones. The steps (which I have NOT verified) are: 1. Place the new un-programmed intelligent access key in the pocket inside the center console utility compartment. 2. Press the driver or passenger power door unlock control three times. 3. Press and release the brake pedal one time. 4. Press the driver or passenger power door lock control three times. 5. Press and release the brake pedal one time. The indicator on the Start/Stop button should begin to rapidly flash, indicating that the programming mode has been entered and two programmed intelligent access keys have been detected in the vehicle. 6. Within one minute, press the start/stop button. A message will be displayed on the message center indicating that the new Intelligent Access Key was programmed. If four intelligent access keys have already been programmed to your vehicle, you cannot program anymore and the message.
  10. Ordered my Tit AWD on 9/11, found out about the VIN # on 9/22, picked it up on 10/12. Amazingly fast.
  11. What are the details on the "early order incentive"?
  12. It's not common knowledge to me - I haven't got my Escape yet. That's a bummer, and doesn't really make much sense to me.
  13. Isn't instant MPG available with sync/MFT? According to a MFT PDF it is. I was going to attach a screen capture of that page, but I'm not sure how to attach an image. Page 58 of the MFT information book (avaiable here: ../../printablematerials/pdf/syncwmfttib.htm).
  14. Well I'll have to look it up to see how it works with a '13 Escape, but with my '10 Fusion, it is only used when you "rip" an inserted CD to the 10GB "jukebox". It uses the serial number embedded in the CD to look up the CD title and song titles (and with the '13, presumably the cover artwork). I don't think it does anything with the music files on a USB.
  15. They made it better: $1500 cash. When I pick my Escape up this month, I should be able to get the new, better, offer - sweet! Now if I could only get one of those $750 private offers sent to me. I tried to make that happen by signing up on Ford for brochures for a couple of vehicles, but so far, nothing.
  16. That's why I asked! Thanks for the info.
  17. What size comes with the towing package? Is it 2" or 1 1/4"?
  18. A little bit of googling suggests (nothing authoritative) that it's going to change to a $500 rebate come October. Can you give us more information about this pamphlet and the offer details? I won't get mine until the middle of October, so I'd love to find some other offer I can pile on top of my purchase price.
  19. Is that possibly the new offer that replaces the current $1000 cash-back offer (set to expire at the end of September)?
  20. Pillboy, is the attached photo of the cargo area from a 2013 Escape? Can anyone give me approximate dimensions of the cargo area? I'm looking at options for a liner that covers the cargo area floor as well as the back of the back seats when up or folded down. This http://www.amazon.co..._sim_sbs_auto_5 looks like a possible option, and is pretty cheap to boot ~$45). This http://www.autosport...p&pid=238&cid=4 is supposed to be custom fit, but is also much more expensive (~$160).
  21. Thanks PJ. My window sticker just showed up. I wouldn't have known the number above the word BLEND was a date without your comment, above. Looks like Tuesday for me - hopefully a good day for the "caulkers".
