  1. I've had an iPhone 5 with iOS 8 and now an iPhone 6 Plus, and have had no more problems with it than I did with iOS 7 (which means it occasionally won't start playing after connecting, or stops while playing, or won't display the track info, etc). I use mostly Pandora. I have read that bluetooth connectivity is being affected for some with iOS 8.0.2, but i'm not having any issues. I wish that there will be a firmware update for CarPlay. I'd hate to have to buy a whole new car to use Apple CarPlay! And no, my iPhone 6 Plus is not bent!
  2. Since I got the gas mileage firmware upgrade I get the occasional 48 to 52 mpg result on my 20 mile commute back home in the evening. My avg lifetime dropped to 37.1 over the winter and its back to 37.4 near the beginning of summer. I don't expect to get over 40 mpg avg lifetime ever, but at 37 or so, I'm pretty happy with the results compared to the 24 mpg lifetime average over 12 years on my last car. Guess 48 mpg was too much to hope for in this early phase of hybrid electrics, but I'm happy with the compromise. My 13 fusion hybrid is one of the best handling cars I've ever bought. Even with 4 people in the car it gets in the upper 30's mpg and it has plenty of power. Wish everyone could have a good experience like mine.
  3. Does Pirelli have a good set of low rolling resistance tires for the hybrid?
  4. background: I'm a software developer/analyst who has worked with QNX in the past. I contracted for 2 years, to help update and fix railroad user interfaces to display realtime data from track devices, and car locations. It was an OS like any other OS, it had it's good things and its bad things. QNX is used in all sorts of systems from the ones I worked on to medical devices and so on. Anything in need of a fast, small realtime OS, usually in an embedded environment (i.e. not your typical pc setup). I've read some things on QNX in the auto interfaces. I think they would again build their own apps/interfaces on QNX, and also API's to allow any cell phone manufacturer to display from phone to car screen. This is a good thing. Choice. Rather than nail it down to one phone OS or another, you get to display some apps from whatever phone you choose to own on top of the car manufacturers interface. here's a link to a QNX web site with a video. Its mostly people waving their hands about but there is some pretty cool screen shots near the end of the video. Happens to feature a bentley, and some folks might be turned off by all the Macs being used to develop the tech, but oh well. I'm a Mac fan myself. The video features a Bentley. http://www.qnx.com/products/qnxcar/ Another link with some pics and some video, looks like a jeep. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1079243_a-look-at-the-near-future-of-in-car-technology-qnx-car-2/page-2
  5. it's pro-clips. I bought one. mine lost it's tightness around the swivel, and was useless after just a couple months. you buy the car attachment (specific to the car) and the phone attachment (specific to the phone) separately and have to screw them together during installation I'm pretty lousy at stuff like this and had mine apart several times, even at the screw that held the swivel, so I probably messed mine up. Your mileage may vary.
  6. Anyone still getting this? Has anyone noticed a correlation with colder weather? It may be a coincidence, but recently we had our first frosts on the lawns a couple days or so ago and not long after that I saw the message pop up again for a couple days. Then today we had an unusually warm day (73), and the message is gone.
  7. I've got 37.6 lifetime so far. It's taken 2 weeks to get there from 37.5. My avg per tank from resetting trip meter is about 40 this summer depending how hard the ac runs. I'm looking forward to the update, because my winter mpg was much lower. As for whine, it sounds like the radiator fan has a bad ball bearing but my dealer's service folks say its normal. This is my first hybrid and the engine certainly doesn't have that throaty exhaust roar of cars past. It sounds more like an asthmastic nerd, but I'm getting used to it, and even just 40 mpg more than makes up for it. I love the handling and the interior is very comfortable. Very happy with the car.
  8. sony system was not available on my SE Hybrid purchase. This unfortunately meant I didn't get the HD radio. does anyone know if its possible to upgrade the radio component to one with HD and keep everything else? I'm happy enough with my speakers, just can tell a major difference when listening to sirus or radio, the sound quality is very flat and muddy compared to music from my iPhone or pandora on my iPhone. I've since let sirus drop, but would like to tune in HD radio stations.
  9. Anyone have any recommendations or opinions on mud flaps on the 2013 fusion?

  14. why does sync my ride home page say "A new MyFord Touch software update is here!", but when I check for updates, it says I am already up to date with 3.5.x from December, 2012 (my cars manufacture date)?
  15. I guess I didn't hear right when I asked if parts for both recalls were in, and they responded yes. The only thing they did was replace my shifter knob with the leather one. No fuel delivery module part in yet.
