  1. Well after driving it for a day or so, it definitely feels smoother than before. Sometimes it still shifts how it previously did though, but I'm hoping that's just a minor hiccup as it is relearning. I don't think its still as smooth as the Ford Escape Ecoboost rental I drove tho (not sure if that was a 2.0L or not and it has been a month or two since I drove that so I could be exaggerating the smoothness of the Escape.) Overall, I'd recommend the fix if you haven't tried it. I didn't notice a TSB number on my receipt but they said I pretty much described the problem word for word with the TSB, so your dealer should be able to help. One thing that also is better is the lurch I'd get frequently when putting the car into Reverse from Park in the mornings. So far that is gone!
  2. Had mine in for something else and mentioned that it feels like it shifts hard on the second gear (might have been third). They said there was a TSB software update or something for the transmission so they loaded that and they said its much smoother now. They said they also reset it so it will learn how I drive over the next 50-75 miles. I haven't driven it yet but I will report back to let you know if its smoother!
  3. Update for those getting the recall (or if you just happen to care lol): Apparently the check fuel fill inlet message was tripped because the "canister" filled up (I was actually smelling fuel when I'd get out of my car). They said this happens from topping off at the fuel pump and to stop doing that. What's weird is I never do that for fear of something like this. The message actually first came on when I had half a tank left. So I still feel like its related to the recall work I had done in this thread but w/e. But its fixed now, hopefully....
  4. I can second the moonroof on the fusion. I'm 6'4" and I have plenty of headroom (make sure you adjust the seat down, if it was up all the way I'd have issues!)
  5. No debris, even tried putting a fuel pump in there just to reseat all the seals. But the message shows up every time I turn on the car now. I guess I gotta take it in...
  6. I got a "Check Fuel Fill Inlet" message/warning this morning. It didn't play a sound and didn't come back after pressing OK. Anyone have any advice on if I should take action or just wait to see if it comes back?
  7. inkblot above was correct; when they updated the software it reset some settings and I just had to switch Tac & fuel back on. Crisis averted...
  8. Seems brighter than my Titanium for sure. The Titanium also does not have it in the cupholders (I wish it did) but does have it in the doors. Does the software build in your car have the option for ambient lighting? Was curious how they would handle that...
  9. How much are they going to offer for your trade in? Just curious how much it has depreciated. Personally: I'm keeping mine for the long haul (10 years hopefully!). What issues were you having?
  10. Had the TSB "funky fuel tank" fixed. They flashed the instrument cluster and installed a new tank. I filled up immediately and was able to put in 15 gallons and my fuel gauge wasn't even on yellow yet! Very happy to get full range now. I noticed with the new instrument cluster update: you can't press down while in the INST MPG view (on the left) and get the tachometer anymore, it will only show the fuel gauge.
  11. I believe I also experience this with my 2.0L and when switching from D-->P/R, etc. (will try the one count remedy mentioned in this thread). Just drove an escape ecoboost (I think 1.6L but not positive) and it was smooth as butter.
  12. Well I had mine in for service and brought up that I still needed the recall work done and then also the TSB for not being able to fill the tank completely. They apparently tried the flash for the TSB and said it "didn't take" so a new fuel tank is on order and I'll being have that work and the recall done at the same time by the end of this week. I'll report back with the results... PS: I had a Ford Escape with Ecoboost as a rental and it actually is a nice fast little car. The shifts were much smoother than my fusion...do you guys/gals notice your fusion shifting "hard" (not sure how to describe it)? With the escape I almost couldn't feel it shifting. I wasn't sure if that's normal or not...
  13. Thanks for the explanation, that does make sense.
  14. To be honest, I'm confused as well. I can understand the DTE being fixed with the update, but I only usually get 12.5Gallons in my tank and that gets cut off from the gas pump. As far as I know the fuel hitting the tip of the gas pump is what trips it to shut off, so it really sounds like the tank is filling up with only 12.5 gallons. Anyone have any insight?
  15. Looks like most people are going the route of just updating the instrument cluster and that seems to fix it. I think I'll have them do that first...
  16. Anyone else have the issue fixed where they can't fill the tank completely? And anyone get the subject recall work done? Just curious how things went...
  17. Has anyone had this replaced yet? I had mine in (for inspection) when news about this first broke month's ago, and my dealer still hasn't called me about having the new tank in? Side topic: has anyone had TSB 13-6-3 done at their dealership? It's for the issue of only being able to fill the tank to 10-12 gallons. I was curious how this would work...does one fuel tank change fix both issues?
  18. Where do we submit bugs to ford? This surround sound issue needs to be addressed... I *thought* I noticed MFT being a little snappier after the update, especially when typing in an address. But could just be in my head
  19. Ugh, it stayed in surround mode for three days! Then yesterday evening it switched back...
  20. Mine has stayed in surround for a couple days now...*knocks on wood*
  21. I'm assuming we won't need a new navigation SD card? Any issues with iPhone 5 compatibility after the update??
  22. I'm up to date on both...I'll check it out this evening. Thanks EDIT: Works like a charm, thanks!
  23. I also have an iPhone 5...how are you able to get sync to read your text messages? Also, I have none of the bad experiences previously mentioned about sync. It rebooted once while I was driving down the road after the car was a week old. It could be a little faster but overall I'm happy.
  24. Funny you post this, I actually just noticed a lot of vibration yesterday while at a stop light with the AC blasting. I couldn't feel it in the steering wheel or anything but I could see the hood lip near the wipers vibrating.
