  1. Cyberdman, Can you check again when you have a moment? 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium VIN : 3FA6P0K95DR154040 Thanks
  2. I went with X-plan because I did not think I could negotiate a better price on a car that was brand new and not even on dealer lots. I'd have to go through my paperwork but I'm probably about $100 bucks over invoice. I'm fine with that. I've always felt that the secret to being satisfied with a purchase is to stop shopping after the purchase is made.
  3. Folks. It's a great looking car even without the Titanium trim level. The 18" sport wheels are my second favorite behind the 19" H-spokes. I saw the SE with the Appearance package and it looks very good. When I ordered I tried to balance cost and features. I skipped the AWD, adaptive cruise control and parking assist. When it comes to snow the tires are much more important than the AWD and I did not care for the weight gain either. As for adaptive cruise control and parking assist I could not justify 2K for features I would barely use. Now, I'll admit that I felt a twinge of regret over the adaptive cruise control but I'm over that finally. Just trying to stay sane as my estimated delivery date approaches.
  4. I'm in the midst of shopping for my daughter for a car or SUV. I hit two different dealers to look at some vehicles this past weekend. The dealership where I ordered my car from has 3 Fusions on the lot. One S and two SEs. Colors were black, white and silver. The other dealer had 2 Fusions. Both of them were SEs. One blue and one gray. I really think that Ford won't start advertising on TV until dealers have a larger stock of vehicles. After all, what's the point of advertising if you do not have product to sell.
  5. I'm 154040. My last status as of 10/24 was; In Production - Trim Line - Ford Hermosillo Assembly, SO Oct-23-2012, 00:00 EDT. ETA *Nov-05-2012. I'd be shocked if I received mine on or around 11/5. I'm hoping for the middle of November. I'm coming up on 9 weeks since I placed my order and my sales guy told me 8-12 weeks.
  6. I saw a car transporter heading the other way on the expressway completely full with new Fusions? Does that count?
  7. It's beautiful. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing and the more pics the better.
  8. Just append your VIN to the end of this URL. http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=
  9. Can't thank you enough, cyberdman. Can you take another look when you have the time? 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium VIN : 3FA6P0K95DR154040
  10. Camride, I've got to agree with you on that point. Pretty crappy of dealers to add a front license plate bracket in a state that does require a front plate. And you are right that they feel it's a free advertising billboard for them. I'll give them the rear license plate frame for advertising but no additional dealer sticker and certainly no front plate (unless required by law).
  11. I've ordered cars in the past and just told my sales guy not to have it installed. I live in a state that requires a front plate but I agree that it ruins the look of the car. I'm willing to take the risk of not having a plate. Most cops won't pull you over for not having a front plate but will cite you for it if they catch you for speeding for example. I'll just pay the fine if need be.
  12. Darke, my 2001 Ford Ranger is about as basic a vehicle as you could get. It doesn't even have power windows much less a navigation system. I bought it as a daily driver while the toy sat in the garage and got driven on weekends. I based my comment on hard drives failing from my experiences with PCs as I'm not privy to car repair statictics. I can't tell how many PC hard drives I've had fail. No part that has heads floating above spinning platters that are rotating at a minimum of 4200 RPM will last forever. If you look at the PC industry the move in laptops is towards SSD drives as they are quicker and less prone to failure from being jostled. I'm sure hard drives used in car navigation systems are built to a more stringent standard but the fact is that it is a technology that is starting to be superseded. Just a couple of years ago it would cost 2K for a NAV system in a car. Today there are many manufacturers that will sell you NAV for under 1K. The technology changes and I'm not buying your argument that a hard drive based system is superior to one that is reliant on a flash drive. As I stated above, I'd much rather be reliant on a SD card that costs peanuts to replace than one with a spinning hard drive. And if I want to have my own music in the car then I'll buy a USB drive and load the music on it and leave it in the car. Heck, just checking on Newegg, I see several 128GB drives that can be bought for under a 100 bucks. I'm thinking 32000 songs might last me a couple of hour long commutes at least.
  13. There is no way you are going to convince me that a hard drive based system is superior to one that uses flash based storage. I'd much rather have an SD card that is easily replaced over a clunker of a hard drive that we all know will fail eventually. If you want additional storage for music a 32GB USB drive can be had for 20 bucks.
  14. Same here on the next time. I have a build to date of today and I can't see calling my sale guy asking for him to try and add the adaptive cruise. Not sure it could even be done and I don't want to mess with my order. I'll be honest that I sure was tempted but luckily that moment has passed. Whew!
  15. I passed on this feature because I figured I don't drive a lot of highway miles and even when I do I rarely use cruise control but now I'm feeling a tinge of regret. It definitely seems to address the whole resume/reset issue with slower traffic in front of you. It's the same reason I passed on the Active Park Assist. I live in the suburbs and probably parallel park once a year if that. Oh well.
  16. If you have a VIN you can just add it to the end of this URL and it should display. http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=
  17. I concur. It's why I went with the optional 19" rims on my Titanium. Now those 19" rims are darn attractive!
  18. I don't think black is going to fix the scratch issue. That's a tough color to keep looking good.
  19. I placed my order on 8/30. My sales guy told me to expect 8-12 weeks as he felt that Ford would be rather deliberate with the Fusion roll-out to avoid some of the hiccups they experienced with the Escape for example. I received my VIN on 10/4. My window sticker finally showed up online on 10/10. When I checked with cyberdman I got a build to week of 10/15 which matched what my sales guy told me. My latest check in with cyberdman gave me a build to date of 10/19. I'll find out next week if it in fact has been built. So tomorrow will be 7 weeks since I ordered but at least I have some hope that my car is actually in the pipeline.
  20. Thank you cyberdman. Can you check again? 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium VIN : 3FA6P0K95DR154040
  21. Woohoo. I've stepped back off the ledge. My window sticker just posted. Special order with the correct options. Heck it even has my name under the options section with a tag 000X000. Not sure if I have seen that before. I do agree though that the auto companies could make this ordering process a lot more transparent. With the Internet nowadays you'd think they could come up with a portal that could provide status and tracking info. How cool would it be to track your delivery with Google maps?
  22. Strike, do you have a link to the thread where you saw the stop info? Thanks
  23. JSKershaw, Thanks for the reply. Trust me, I've been checking on a daily basis. I just thought that with the build to week so close that I would've been able to see a window sticker by now. I asked my sales guy about when he expects to get some Titaniums in and he replied to me; I talked to my Ford Rep on Monday, and she said they have a parts shortage for some of the Titaniums, so they are being held. Nothing serious, just trim pieces from what I understand. But that is why we havent seen any of the loaded up ones yet I wonder if that is also playing into why there is no sticker. Makes me think I might not make the build week though. He does have an S on the lot but I'd rather go look at what I'm buying.
  24. I figured I would throw this out to see if any of the more knowledgeable folks on this forum have any insight. I received my VIN from my sales guy on 10/5. I then submitted a request to cyberdman for tracking info and he came back with a scheduled to build date of 10/15/2012 which matched what my sales guy told me. Now I understand that this really indicates the week that the car should be built and not a specific day. However, shouldn't I be able to see the window sticker by now? Heck, based on the 10/15 build week I'm really only 3 days away. I've been checking regularly and I still get the message that this VIN is not found in the system. Does anyone have any ideas what's going on? Here is the link to my VIN. http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=3FA6P0K95DR154040 As stated above my VIN is 3FA6P0K95DR154040. Thanks in advance for any insight anyone can provide.
  25. The shipping was a bit cheaper from eBay. I just bought one. I guess that will have to tide me over as I wait for the real thing to show up. Can't wait to see my wife roll her eyes when I show her the model!
