  1. The syncmyride website is saying mine is up to date too
  2. Just called my dealer, and they said pretty much what others here have said. The serrvice advisor indicated that unless you are smelling the fuel odor and/or see leakage under the car, they will not replace it. The is a select number of parts currently which are reserved for those experiencing issues. He said Ford will send out the official recall notice in 3rd quarter and have sufficient parts avaliable for all customers under the recall to get the module replaced. Guess I will start being more observant of the odor and leakage. He did tell me the odor and/or leakage should be coming from the passenger side since that is where the module is located. If he didn't say that I would have thought driver's side since that is where the fuel filler is.
  3. I have the same recall listed on the owner site. Tried to schedule an appt through the site but i got an error. I will call tomorrow to schedule an appt.
  4. Good points. I have looked inti aftermarket options and that would be close to $600 and it isnt a factory look etc. I would hope the parts may be around the $520 amount if i got them for a ford dealer parts dept, then it is about the labor cost...ughhh. Probably not worth the cost but if somehow under $1000 i would consider it.
  5. I am interested to see how feasible it would be to add the Push button start and intelligent access to my SE Hybrid. That is the one feature I really miss and has caused me a bit of regret not waiting a few extra months for the Hybrid Titanium I ordered.
  6. I have the Husky liners, and I am really happy with them. The drivers side fits excellent and covers more area than the Weatherbeaters. All of the liners fit well The material is a good quality plastic/vinyl combo, and has many small nibs that grip the carpet. I took the front ones out after winter was over, but keep the rear one in since my partner's kids and their friends are not exactly careful with their feet/shoes.
  7. Yep, confirm on my drive to work today, that my steering wheel is offset to the right a bit. The Ford symbol on the wheel seems to be centered between the D and L for the gear selection on the instrument cluster, not in line with the N like you would think it would be. Not a big deal, but I thought I noticed it a few weeks ago.
  8. I am pretty sure my steering wheel is actually offset to the right a bit, so the opposite issue of the original poster. I thought maybe this is intentional, but i guess not. I will confirm soon when i get up.
  9. I really like the feel and texture of the leather steering wheel. It is firm yet has enough cushion to be comfortable. I am glad it is/was part of the appearance package. The leather wheel in my old TL might have been thicker, but it didn't feel as nice or comfortable.
  10. That is where I had my oil change redone today. Purchased from Beasley in York. Probably not again.
  11. Which dealer puts the stickers on even if the customer doesn't want it? Curious since i am in Central PA and if i get another Ford after this, i am interested to know. I bought this Fusion in York. Probably not again.
  12. I.made sure they took.off their dealer sticker before i took delivery even though the salesman wrote do not install dealer sticker on the order form with my file. I didn't mind having the frame on the car for a little while until the bad weather cleared and i found a nice Penn State or Phillies one. I was hapoy with them and didn't mind giving them a little free advertising until this issue.
  13. Bailey, Your response to my thoughts was exactly the way i felt. Like they didn't think i knew what i was talking about. Very frustrating and I just gave up trying. I'll take my business elsewhere. I removed their license plate frame before i went to work this morning and threw it in the trash sort of angrily.
  14. I intend on sending a letter to the dealer service manager and calling Ford customer service. Even after i told them the differences in the capacities for the 3 main Fusion engines. I even said, maybe you got the 2.0 liter ecoboost mixed up with the hybrid 2.0 liter. Didnt help. Grrrr.
  15. Update: Lets just say that I dont think i will be going back to my dealer for service again. I took the car in yesterday to have them redo the oil change or at least take some oil out, and after about 15 minutes, the service writer brought me back to talk to the mechanic. They both went on to tell me that 5.5 quarts is the correct amount and that it is ok if the oil level is at the upper open dot on the dipstick. I told them that the owners manual says 4.5 quarts for the hybrid, and is 5.7 for the 2.0 ecoboost (picture me pointing to the glove box lol grrrrr) and still they said 5.5. He even took out the dipstick to show it was around that level, which i beleive was the case since it was just driven in minutes earlier, so not all the oil drained back into the pan, so it was reading a bit lower than actual. He went on to tell me he fills it to the upper dot which I don't think is ok, but would be passable. I told them i checked it a good 18 hours after i last drove it, and it was above the open dot and close to the swirl part of the stick The service writer said they will make a note in the computer to not charge me for 6 qts next time, and i said that wasn't the point, the overfilling was. My bill was corrected on saturday so i wasnt worried about that part. I will probably call the local dealer near my work later and see if they can fit me in for an oil change in the next couple days. I'll just eat $25-30 and call it a day.
  16. They actually asked me if i wanted the car wash. I could have refused it, but i thought what the harm would be. If the car wash was the cause, then its a lesson learned.
  17. I wasn't implying that this is an issue with all Fusions, but it is disappointing to see on such a new vehicle. Never know if it could become an issue with other fusions though. I am not bitching. I have been quite happy with my hybrid so far. I am taking it in tomorrow to have them reattach it hopefully.
  18. I was actually looking to add the rest of the chrome trim like is on cars with the luxury package and Titaniums since I think it looks nice, but if this is the quality of the adhesion, then I am starting to think twice about it.
  19. Yep, looks like the rest of the black trim. Has a slightly rubbery feel to it.
  20. I got my oil changed at the dealer I bought the car from on Saturday morning, and let's just say I am not happy now. First, I went to pay for it. I got "The Works" service which included the oil change, tire rotation, and checks of fluids etc for $39.95. When the cashier told me the total was $46.XX, I was like, uh that seems high, and it should be $42 something with tax (6% in PA). I walked over to the service counter to ask about it, and they said that only includes up to 5 quarts of oil, and they had to put in and charge for an extra quart. I was a bit puzzled why a 4 cylinder engine would require 6 qts, but that is what they said. Well, they agreed to not charge for the extra qt, and I paid and left to do my days errands. It was a hectic day, so I wasn't thinking to check the oil level and owners manual to see what the capacity is. Today I decide to check the oil and owners manual. I checked the level and my partner looked at it too. He agreed with me it was way overfilled (a good inch over the hole in the dipstick which is above the full mark. The owners manual says 4.5 qts for the Hybrid which makes sense. Even my old 6 cylinder Acura TL didn't take 6 qts (it took 4.5). So now I have to call the dealer tomorrow and demand they drain the oil and set the level to the correct level. I will also mention that I hope they aren't doing this to all cars. Since the dealer is not close to my house or work (almost an hour away), it will be an inconvenience for me, but it has to be done. Yea, and when I drove by the dealer this weekend, EV+ is showing now as one of my more frequent destinations...not a good sign. It could be that I knew the oil level is high, but the engine sounds like it is louder. Maybe it is trying to process the extra oil and is sort of "choking' on it. The fuel mileage hasn't seemed to suffer, but that is tough to tell with the EV mode and depending on how much EV has been used.
  21. Give up?? Looks what is missing. Yep, the chrome trim piece under the rear quarter window came off. I was parked this afternoon when something caught my eye. The top edge of the trim piece was slightly apart from the car. I touch it and the piece came right off. Any ofthe glue or adhesive that held it on seems to be gone. I am shocked it stayed on like it did and I was doing some higher speed driving this weekend. I took my car to get an oil change(which has its own issues now), and they washed it as part of the service. Maybe the force of the car wash knocked it loose. When I take it back to correct the oil change issue (they put in too much oil and I want it drained and filled to the right level), I will have them reattach the piece hopefully. Talk about cheap and "ghetto" looking....ughhh.
  22. I see your points about the switching of drivers. In my case, I am almost always driving it. There have been 3 times my partner has driven the car, but that was with me in it after I was buzzed from having some drinks when we went out. The Advanced keys system has a back up where there is a card you waive over one of the sensors if you lose or forget the smart key. it will allow you to unlock and start/drive the car. The warranty thing is something I have been wrestling with in my mind too. That is why I have asked other opinions. My friend also mentioned the wiring/warranty issue, but he also thinks this is more for a cool factor. It is "cool" but I like the convenience/useful factor too. Many times I carry groceries with both hands and it would be nice not having to fumble with the fob to open the doors/trunk.
  23. When I decided to purchase the SE Hybrid I had on order in December instead of waiting for the Titanium Hybrid I had on order, one of the toughest decisions I made was giving up the Push Button Start and Intelligent Access. I have been researching the feasibility of adding it aftermarket, and it is certainly possible and not too expensive (relatively), but the one thing I have been wondering about is any possible warranty issues by adding it. I went to a shop today and they said that it would be approximately $500-600 for the parts and labor. They use the following kit: http://www.advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK104B.html, but I can ask about others and they will tell me if they would install it. They won't install just anything (i.e. "cheap crap from eBay"). The guy said this kit has been reliable. I am not crazy about the credit card look of the fob but not a big deal. I am hoping they can change out the Green bulb on the push button since nothing else in the interior is lit green, so it would look out of place. I am also considering something like this:http://www.ebay.com/itm/pke-car-alarm-push-button-start-Auto-Remote-Passive-keyless-entry-car-security-/110929947680?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19d3f0ac20&vxp=mtr, since I like the look of the fobs, and the price is good too. Now I am not sure if the shop would even install it, but its an option. The one thing the guy specifically mentioned was having the key inserted into the key slot and it always being in there, and bypassing the steering wheel lock. I remember when steering wheels would lock, but it has happened exactly once since I have had the Fusion. What is the big deal about bypassing the steering wheel lock? What is everyone's opinion of doing this, and would you worry about warranty issues?
  24. I am going to have my first oil change done this weekend early (almost 6000 miles, and 3000 ICE miles), then will most likely follow the oil life monitor after this. I had no issues with following the monitor in my TL (I got close to 7500 miles out of each oil change with it).
  25. On the bottom right side of the windows, they say 70% on them which means they let 70% of the light through. That is pretty much standard on all cars. It isn't much tint at all. 20% means that 20% of the light gets through. I just had 20% tint installed on my Fusion and it is pretty dark. It is technically illegal in PA but I will take my chances. Never had any issues with my previous TL and I drive more conservatively now.
