  1. My rpms are right at 2000 and I cannot get over 25 mpg on highway only driving. My last three tanks of gas are 22.5, 22.6 and 22.4 mpg (Again mostly highway driving). My dealer has basicially told me to pound sand. I guess my only option now is to go rent a 2013 with a 1.6L ecoboost and drive it for a week. If I get the same mileage then it's my fault.
  2. No major hills and the temperature has been in the mid 70's since purchase. My one way daily commute consists of 5 miles of city then 18 miles of highway. As of today, the odometer reads 2100 mile and my calculated MPG is 23.7. This number is hard calculated since the trip computer mpg varies drastically. It would be one thing if I drove with a heavy foot, but I'm babying the engine and keeping the rpms under 3000. This past week, I made a highway trip of 150 miles and got 25.2 mpg driving 65 mph. My dealer has not been helpful and has given me the cold shoulder in regards to the issue.
  3. If you guys are looking for a good iPhone app to track mileage...I highly suggest GasCubby. I use it for all my vehicles and track the all maintenance, etc. It's easy to log then info while your pumping gas and you don't have to waste paper, lead, etc. In regards to my MPG, My current calculated MPG is 23.1 as 10/22. I'm really hoping that we are still in break-in but things haven't changed. This is very sad since I drive 65% highway and 35% city. I'm going on a long road trip tomorrow for work and will log about 250 miles on the highway. Hopefully I can eke out something close to the stated 33mpg city that the 1.6L is "supposed" to get. The more i have this car, the more I believe that Ford made a couple of 100 handshakes with the EPA people. P.S. I have 1500 miles on my Escape and average fuel mileage has declined over the past weeks
  4. I'm glad to hear you guys getting great mileage but mine has been less than diserable. After 1200 miles, I'm getting no more than 25.7 mpg highway (1.6L ecoboost). In fact my overall mpg is 22.4 (Car computer has it at 23.1). I'm hoping it is still running rich from the factory but am not seeing any changes. I did recently install a Yakima roof rack w/ fairing and had my mileage increase 0.5 mpg. This is very frustrating since I have always exceeded stated mpg claims previous vehicles. If I would have known that this was going to be my mileage...I would have bought the Edge with the Ecoboost (more room and better mpg then I'm getting now).
  5. Has anybody changed their oil in the 1.6L yet. I got underneath the car and had no problem removing the shield. However i had a bit of a head scratching moment when looking at the oil filter. For some reason the filter itself is lodged above some AC lines and hosing. Once the filter is removed, the oil will drip all over these items, etc. I'm in awe that the engineers allowed this design. This is literally the worse layout that I have ever seen for the oil filter. If anybody has any hints/suggestions for taking this filter out....I'm all ears.
