  1. That still doesn't explain why Ford stands alone in not having the LED's on in the daytime like everyone else. stupid misstep in my opinion. One way or the other I'm going to most likely have them wire up an override.
  2. I rather be jarred than dead I guess.
  3. Coming up quickly towards 2,000 miles and I'm currently at 42.4 mpg which most has been at summer blends I assume.
  4. Jeeze the 2103's are barely a month old and we are already picking 2014 colors.
  5. Ah, but it does. Try it and see. At least the way id did for me was if I leave the key in the car and use the last 2 code #'s on the door to lock the car. Maybe it thinks that if you lock with the code you can unlock with the code, but it definitely locked my key fob in the car.
  6. The only thing I really don't like about it is that I have to remember to wear my seat belt when parking in my garage if I want to open the driver door to see how close I am to the wall. It slams the car into park when moving unless I have my seat belt on or unless I remember to stop, park and then set it back to drive. Can't be too good for the transmission.
  7. Use a fat 32 formatted drive and have only the pics on it. Mine worked. Use a usb extension cord if you have one if it doesn't fit.
  8. Be careful if you leave your key fob in the car, the car will lock you out and the only way in is the unlock door code.
  9. I was told that soon will be new apps that will be available such as Pandora in the My Lincoln Touch/Sync interface. Has anyone else heard anything about this? Apparently other than that, the only Lincoln with "Applink" is the Navigator 2013. Seems odd since even some of the budget Ford models have this feature.
  10. Yes, my car also had scratches and defects in delivery that they mostly fixed now, but fit and finish are iffy at best. Overall I still love the car, but I have to ignore some bugs and I'm sorry, but it is obvious that quality is simply not job one anyomore.
  11. They are a "Fleet Only" option (how ridiculous is that?) that would require a "Fleet" Smart Junction Box (unavailable without a Fleet VIN #). The only option seems to be to have someone custom wire an override for just the accent lights. Probably not worth the expense. Maybe if enough people complain they may rethink this stubborn and inexplicable position.
  12. But the media will go on hating Lincoln no matter what. Seems to be the trend.
  13. The media really seems to basically hate the MKZ. I guess time will tell, but I'm getting the feeling everyone in the media wants Lincoln to go bye bye. Personally I have some complaints about the car that mimic what they are saying in general, but I still find the alternatives less acceptable. Anyway, don't expect any decent resale value of this car. They simply won't allow it no matter what.
  14. The problem I have with virtually all the all-weather mats is that they don't cover enough carpet area to be very effective.
  15. or this one for $25, but I wouldn't have any idea how to do either. http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Auto-LED-Daytime-Running-Light-On-OFF-Switch-p/aa1070.htm
  16. I agree. It could have been so easy. Seems some Focus ST owners are also trying to figure out a workaround: http://fordstnation.com/focus-st-exterior/2828-enable-eyebrow-leds-drls.html
  17. I found a Lincoln dealer that was willing to do an electrical switch override in house, but the downside is that $45 "Fleet" option would become a minimum of a $300 job with the possibility of higher depending on the extent of the wiring work and accessibility.
  18. On the MKZ incentives page: 0.9% APR Lincoln AFS Financing PLUS $1,000 Conquest Cash
  19. I emailed Kevin Cours (National Sales Manager) to see if he can answer the "why" about this. Remember, this is the case for all new Fords and Lincolns, not just the MKZ. If we make some noise, maybe they will reconsider. Anyone who wants this option should email anyone they can because I assume they figure for every email, there must be many more that want it but wouldn't say anything. Like the proportions of a poll.
  20. Well there is a reason that Mercedes, Lexus, Range Rover, Tesla, BMW and Audi do nice daytime LED's. They look nice (in my opinion), and they add to safety. I notice cars behind me and oncoming more in the daytime if these light are on, especially when cloudy. AND I LIKE THE WAY THEY LOOK!!!! AND THEY ARE ALREADY ON THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!! So I'm looking into going to a custom shop to have a wired switch so I can control when I want them on. I imagine the reason that Ford turned them off is to gain the 1/100th of a gallon MPG that they might effect. I'm still really pissed off about this and the lack of any sensible answers from Ford/Lincoln. At this point is is the principal of the matter to me. By the way, apparently all the other Ford models are in the same boat. The software option disappeared sometime at the end of last year.
  21. I find this interesting but it has gone off a few times and in each case I can easily see that there would not be any time to react to a real fender bender or crash. It basically lets you know you are about to die. By the way, if anyone is like me and used to pulling in to the garage and opening the driver door to see how close you are to the wall or whatever, you must do it with your seat belt on or either stop, place it in park and back to drive or otherwise your car will slam into park while you are moving at low speed. At about 5 mph or so this behavior is overridden thankfully.
