  1. From the cutoff pictures you showed on the stock ones, my guess is that there will be a little bit more light bleed installing HID's (not as sharp a cutoff) and defined hotspots for the HID's. It's not ideal (doesn't look like it has the width you should have for HIDs) and might cause some more glare off the road surface (with the hotspots), but should have good throw.
  2. I ran both VVME and DDM kits. I prefer the VVME kits, though they're both made in China. I had to use a relay on my Charger, but as far as I know none of the Ford vehicles use a CANbus system like the Mopar cars, so a relay harness isn't necessary (unless your worried about the initial voltage spike to ignite the HID, which is pretty much irrelavant. My fusion showed up today, and I already have a VVME H11 in the waiting to install. I'll probably do that Jan 1st.
  3. Cyberdman, Still no car :-( ....can you give me an update: 3FA6P0D93DR187969 Thank you! Hopefully you had a great Christmas!
  4. Cyberdman, Could i get a (hopefully) final update....hopefully its working its way closer.... 3FA6P0D93DR187969 Thanks! Happy holidays!

    HID's

Car comes Saturday.....my vvme low beam kit is already here. So i know what ill be doing next week! I found from my other cars I'd rather have silverstars or similar than HIDs on fogs
  6. Cyberdman, Could I get an update on 3FA6P0K91DR187973 please? Thanks!
  7. Nah man, those pics look good! There are definately some hotspots but that cutoff is pretty well defined. I'll probably just use a PnP kit and see how it goes. Should be a lot better than a PnP kit in a reflector housing anyways. Looks like it'd suffice well enough that I could wait till ford offered HID's (which I do think they will for next years model) and buy the HID assemblies from Ford, or find housings off a wrecked (or swapped) Fusion and go with Morimoto projectors.
  8. Thanks man. On a side note.... what kind of mileage are you getting with your AWD?
  9. I doubt the dealerships will sell a safety recall item back to the public...
  10. Technically you can do it yourself. It woud involve baking and seperating the headlights to install. If you wanted it professionally done youd have to look locally or use a place like aacstyle.com or flashtech. The actual HID lights are as simple as a half hour of work and a 40 dollar plug and play kit from the likes of vvme or ddm. Double that price if your doing fogs. He used the factory lights. Obviously if you have any headlight issues it will no longer be covered.
  11. If anyone could get a picture of the cutoff beam on the '13 Fusions, it'd be greatly appreciated! I'm trying to determine what brand/quality projectors they use, and if I will be able to use a PnP HID kit, or if I'll need to save my money for a full blown retrofit. Thanks guys and gals!
  12. Cyberdman, I'm not sure if this is allowed....but the dealer screwed up and gave me the wrong VIN. They gave me another too be built Fusion. Thankfully your URL's at the bottom helped me spot that! So, if it's ok, think you could tell me the build or ETA or any info, yet again, but for this VIN: 3FA6P0K91DR187973 They said it was ordered a day after the other so I'm hoping the build date is the same day. Thanks!
  13. Cyberdman, If you could please give me some info since my dealer doesn't feel like looking anything up for me. Perhaps an estimated build date, or even ETA. VIN: 3FA6P0D93DR187969 Thanks!
  14. Ah....the same color I got! Now I'm really getting antsy to get mine in! Looks great!
  15. Fuelly is the way to go! That's what I plan on using when my car decides to finally show up!
  16. It's an ST....whats the fun in that?!? :P
  17. Saw a blue one on 283 near my house. Was torn between the blue and ruby red....glad I got the red. It was a nice color, but definately was a little too purplish in the light for my tastes.
  18. At home: Garage....At work...well, I work for UPS, so hopefully everyone in that parking lot can drive a car lol.
  19. Anyway you could take a picture of the headlights shining against a wall or garage door? I'm curious to the type and quality of halogen projectors they use...and to see how difficult it will be to rerofit HID's in their place. Thanks!
  20. I understand a break in period, but I don't know where these people are thinking that's going to bump your mileage 10mpg. If it doesn't improve you should have it checked outt by Ford. My Charger has 3x the displacement, double the horsepower and weighs 1k pounds more and makes that mileage.
  21. Going from a 2008 Dodge Charger R/T to a '13 Fusion titanium. I needed something still peppy and that still handled well....but without the 14-20mpg I was currently getting in the Charger. Ordered end of October...just got a VIN this week.
  22. Anyway you can get a picture of the cutoff on the projector headlights against a wall or garage door? I'm trying to get an idea of the type of halogen projector they use and how well it patterns.
  23. I'd say yes....mainly because the times I needed in other cars and didn't have it, I was mad. And even though stand alone units are cheaper, I'm not a fan of having to plug them in, put them on the windshield and all that. Built in for me!
