It's like 264 miles, 4 hours and 2 minutes taking I94E. I assume they would truck it over there ... all I know is they have 10 days starting tomorrow to get it down here. The interchange at Markham was delivered at 5:49pm today.

This is probably a stupid question but I've never leased before. If I call Lincoln financial, will they give me the residual value and money factor based on my credit score? Reason asking is I would like this information to know if the dealer is trying to pad the interest rate for profit, or giving me the correct residual value.

Mark, Watch mine as I am a pre-order and it did go to IL; I assume for inspection at Flat Rock. According to MKZtracker, tomorrow is should be at Markham (final Destination) in which I assume again it will be trucked over to Flat Rock. Like you stated, I can't see my car going up there just for sh!ts and giggles.

I need to update my info as this was a possible guess, which was wrong. It took a different route once it hit Kansas City; did not go through St Louis as I though it would.

That is the next hurdle to accomplish as mine will be off-loaded the rail system tomorrow and I assume it will be trucked over to Flat Rock. What will help is when MKZtracker updates my status once departed Flat Rock for FL. It still could down by rail though.

Once on the rail, it takes right at 1 week to get from Hermosillo to Markham, IL. Mine left of the 7th and scheduled to arrive on the 14th. It could be a day early as it is only 35 miles away from destination and leaves tonight.

Mark, I've never leased so are these numbers what I should know when discussing leasing? Reason asking is my dealership told me today on a 24mo/10.5K miles the residual value is 67%. I didn't get the interest rate but I only had a $906 down.

MicKeyZ, When you build the car on Lincoln's website and send it out to the dealers, the only thing you are really accomplishing is for a dealer to call and talk about it which is close to you. When you do that, you are not agreeing to purchase it at MSRP since no negotiations have been completed; you're only getting a dealer to call you. About to late to order, you can order at any time, but I would suggest try let the dealership hunt/find your exact car you want first. If they can't find it, then order one (normally the dealer will ask for a $500 deposit). Once you decide to purchase a car, that is when you need to know invoice price and how much you are willing to pay...closer to invoice price, the better.

Great advice and just to add on, you need to do your homework prior to going into the dealer. Go to the site and build your car exactly the way you want it. Then go to edmunds.com and rebuild it exactly again so you can see the total invoice price; you want to negotiate as close to or even below invoice. Call every delaer around you and let them know you are very serious to do a deal, but at the right price. If you don't get a warm fuzzy, then go on to the next dealer. Even try out of state as they can have it shipped to the dealer closest to you. Bottom line is the more you educate yourself on the entire car buying process (for example, knowing about hold back, allocation/preorder, etc) will get you a long way when it comes to negotiations.

Trying to figure out specifically what path our car is traveling on its way to IL, I came across this weather station map that you can use to possibly track your car's path. I noticed these weather stations were along railways and they also had codes like UP675; maybe UP stands for United Pacific.
