Thank you all for all the great comments..I knew it was a 2.0 liter thing..but its more commonly known as a "titanium" thing...I'd imagine because you only see pictures of the titanium advertised with it..not any other trim really.

Also no wheel choices again. Well now there's really no big reason to have waited for the 2014's unless cooled seats really tickled your fancy ;o (I am of course talking about the Hybrid Titanium) I'm loving my 2013 for another year xD And sorry to anyone who waited for a 2014 this long only to just now find this out - On a side note - I wonder if Ford did this to push the sales of the Titanium gas model. It's cheaper for them to make, they don't have to worry about having all those batteries and other hybrid options in stock as much, and they can push the trim of car they really wanna sell out the door more by offering the sexiest fusion feature to it. It makes sense that Ford would want to make the high end gas model the trim to want. Anything over that is just extra money in their pocket and anything lower than that means they aren't pushing how good the upgrades are well enough. The gas Titanium model (in my mind) sits as Fords cost-effective way of getting a high-class luxury gas vehicle compared to all the others on the road today. I'd give that trim the dual exhaust as well. Anyone paying more for the hybrids are clearly interested in other things and won't let dual exhaust stop them from their purchase.. I know I was

I am about to take a long distance trip to las vegas this weekend and should produce similar results. i will be sure to take plenty of pictures and video of this and make its own thread. Maybe i just got a mutant xD

Here is the weird thing I learned about my fusion. I'm posting this because I'm surprised a number of you- if not all are getting poor MPG because an incline or mountain or steep upgrade is on your route so you use more gas. I live in an area where it's completely flat..like...unnaturally flat if you ask me...not a hill or like..bump in sight...like flat for MILES in every direction...perfect for farmland around here...but if you want to head towards los angeles you have to go through the mountains and there are steep, if not lengthy climbs of about a few several miles before it flats out a bit as you drive through the mountains valley. Simply put my car hates to use gas. It will not if it doesn't want to..Junior is one hell of a fusion hybrid titanium. I did a long distanced trip of about 200+ miles round trip and I got 45 MPG on the to trip and around 44.9 MPG on the return trip. Nothing but highway just about with high way speeds always being either 62 MPH or 65 MPH. Never anything greater than that or less then that unless adaptive was kicking in or in slow moving traffic in which i was going all electric anyway. So here is why I think my fusion hybrid is a saint. 1. It forces itself to stay in EV mode during long steep climbs. The first time this happened I was shocked. Since you dont have to change gears it just did what it had to do automatically keep my preset cruise control speed but the entire climb it never left EV mode. It was hard-bent on using every last drop of EV it had to to keep from switching to gas. It was almost like an EV+ mode for on the road. I've gone through this way 4 times and there is a steep climb for miles in each direction leading into the mountains and i've never used a drop of gas any of those 4 times it made the climb. It stayed in EV mode..and I think that leads to me getting exceptional MPG overall when the trips done. So when you guys say you go on mountains and get in the 20s...I don't know why...the car (at least mine) is made to not use gas going up hill..it senses the climb and is empowered to use electricity up and keep the engine off. And you know something else thats weird...even though the engines working harder to push it up hill my EV range lasts LONGER when its forcing itself to climb in EV than when its going on a normal level street or highway! Lol..WTF? Lol..More hills please!! 2. My car rarely (but enough) finds "Equilibrium". This is a state my car doesn't always get into..but at least 5 times during my trip it has. I call it equlibrium because its as if after miles of driving the Fusion hybrid finds itself one with the road where it not only stays in EV mode but keeps itself in EV mode as if energy freely flows into it from the environment keeping it from ever needing gas to charge itself while driving. When this first happened I was so surprised and i couldnt understand how the physics was doing it but basically I call "equilibrium" the point when the Fusion Hybrid does several things at one time that makes driving a hybrid fusion probably better than any other hybrid on the road. (1) It drives in EV mode with the gas engine off and is as silent as a bicycle, (2) it keeps itself in EV mode AND recharges its battery to full WITHOUT USING GAS, and (3) once the battery icon is fully blue it drives itself (62-65 MPH) without using gas to charge the battery, without the battery meter ever going down, and stays in EV mode until it no longer "one with itself" LOL. Sounds weird doesnt it? But can you imagine driving a hybrid that not only accelerates itself to full speed, but does it all in EV mode AND charges itself without using gas WHILE its using energy to drive and power accessories? That's what my car has done 5 times during my trip. The maxmimum time this has happened is probably 5-7 minutes. When the car finds this balance with itself it goes into EV mode, uses electriciity to charge itself while driving and then just drives on free energy it must be generating after its batteries are full. The only time i know its out of this special state is when 5-7 minutes pass of driving in this state and then the lower arrow starts showing the battery is now being used. Then it will stay in EV mode until its time to use the gas and acts like a normal hybrid again. These 2 occurrences make me soooo happy i purchased a hybrid and a ford hybrid at that! This car is really smart and really efficient. My highest MPG on a 8 mile trip was 67 MPG and it was just a flat trip no hills or anything...a usual trip i normally get in the 40s/50s on...but because i drove extra careful and tried to stay in EV i made nearly 70 MPG on a trip that usually nets me just under 50 MPG. So yes, when i drive on hills...i dont use gas...and when conditions are just right my car not only cruises in EV, but can charge itself in EV and maintain a full battery for around 5-7 minutes before losing its mojo. So to anyone wondering if this is an amazing car. Don't just test drive one..buy one for yourself and see what it can do for you! Lol...just thought i'd throw a sales pitch in there in the end, but seriously! BUY ONE!

Just got 67 MPG today..

I was washing and waxing my fusion and when i was drying it thats when i noticed those letterings are so loosely put on the car. It's as if its stuck on by adhesive tape. I thought those letters would be hard glued onto the car or at least a lot more durable than they are on this car. I actually have to take care so i dont get the towel tangled up between them and the car and twist a letter off or something. That's probably the only thing i dont like so i can understand when you say the "F" had to be replaced.

Just a small FYI...there could be a number of reasons why they took it out of the cupholders...We don't know if the Ford Mondeo ever had ambient lighting..and if it did where it was located in the vehicle. What we do know now is that Ford Global now has a new objective called "One Ford" so a lot of vehicles are now being crafted by ford to be sold all over the world with a different name. Now the Fusion and Mondeo are the same vehicle and no longer regional luxury midsized sedans. Because of this there are some pros and cons. The pros are easily apparent. The 2013 fusion is MUCH BETTER as far as styling, mechanics, and technology is concerned and you can thank all of this to the previous generation mondeo's adding a lot to the looks and tech department. They couldnt just dumb down europes premium vehicle just because its sold in America now...so that caused a huge boost in features/luxury for the money for the Fusion. I honestly believe the 2013+ Fusion are the ones to buy and older generations are now sold only as an affordable used car or for a new niche- a niche of fusion lovers who hate the new fusion. But the cons are some features not sold on the mondeo may be taken away from the Fusion here in America when the previous generations used to have it. Who knows what ambient lighting on the old mondeo's was like..and maybe ford decided to take away the cup holders not as a slap on the back for Americans but because as a GLOBAL CAR it wasn't wise for ALL REGIONS. And to the people complaining about no LED's...Ford offers more luxury brand sedans here in America then they do in Europe. The Mondeo is a class act. It is for the affordable and when fully loaded overseas is a pretty formidable luxury sedan (more than our fully loaded fusion) so it can get anything and everything ford ever wants to offer since europeans will pay extra for them. Here in America though there are at least 2 vehicle lines higher than the Fusion...The Ford Taurus and the Lincoln brand...and so a lot of features will have to hit those first and trickle down to the Fusion finally at the bottom of the totem pole. That's just how it is in our region. But I have no doubt the mondeo's LEDs will make it to the American market in 2015 or 2016. They have to save some things to keep the Fusion fresh every year new model...and this year its getting small crap like heated steering wheel and cooled seats..stuff that is a gimmick to me but actually useful to others...well same goes for LEDs..some people dont care...and some people want it...and im sure when it does come a lot of people will be happy as thats a make or break feature for them in 2015/2016 just as dual-tailpipes seem to be for some waiting for the 2014 today.

You know...to be honest i thought people that still thought this wouldn't be around anymore... Guess I was wrong.. There are still people out there buying titanium hybrids and expecting them to come with dual exhaust, thus getting pissed and angry when they find out 100,000 other people knew this and dealt with it before them. This is so January 2013 and behind. All I can say to you sir is good luck in your conquest! I'll get on my knees and kiss your dual tailpipe...if you ever get one

Look, surprisingly getting EPA estimates is easy- IF YOU DO ENOUGH DRIVING IN EV MODE. Just like less talking is sometimes better, less driving with the gas on is always better! The first 3 days I had my fusion I was so happy to see 50.9 MPG after a trip. I was so happy. Then today I got 57 MPG! Highest ever..and to think I could of gotten higher than that if I just slowed down a little on the street. Plain and simple if you try and drive up to the speed limit then coast and feather the accelerator you'll get in the 40s easily...In fact you have to be a bad hybrid driver to get in the 30s or just not care...either way. But if you try to drive good..you'll get anywhere from 40-44 MPG...and if you really try you'll get EPA estimates...and if you're really good and willing to drive a little slower than the posted speed limit (and deal with the anxiety, stress, and patience of letting others forced to pull around you (yes its hard..makes you feel like you're doing something wrong)) then you can get in the 50s easily. In the end it all boils down to how much gas you want to save. If you care about yourself and your car. You'll love this car and how well it treats you. If you love to speed and want to not piss other people off then you'll complain about MPG. It's really that simple. Do yourself a favor and drive for you. They don't own the road and can pass you if they need to. Thats why most streets have more than one lane

I found two stores online, but settled with http://www.automotivetouchup.com since they are the cheapest. Complete white-platinum tricoat pack with 3 pens (one for each coat) for just $36 bucks with rush 2-3 day shipping. Not bad at all. The amount of touchup im doing is just running a pen along the bottom corner of the door that touched the ground to cover up the paint chipped area with paint, letting it dry and repeating with the other 2 pens and it will be good. It's nothing anyone can see so all i want to do is smooth out the area and recover up the metal little areas in the jagged area that scraped the ground. It should work nicely and be no trouble at all. They have every color imaginable for Fords and unlike visual garage that need 2-3 weeks to custom paint your shark fin, these guys custom make your paint in 1 day and ship it the next. If you order early enough it may even ship the same day! They are really fast and up on their game! Can't wait to get my custom paint in the next day or two. I'll most likely have the pens for any other minor touchups i may ever need to do in the life of me having this car. In the end no car is ever perfect for long. We all hope our fusions come perfect as they are brand new from the factory, but after driving it the same thing happens to them that has happened to all our other cars given enough time and driving. All you can really do is hope you keep damage to a minimum for as long as you can I don't hate my grandma..Accidents happen and she was really sorry. Could of been worse...I could of parked next to a shopping cart collector area and she could have opened the door wide into it messing up the hide of the door lol. So..can't complain lol.

*update* Going to get a tri-coat white platinum touch up pen set for less than $40. It includes a seperate pen for the base coat, mid coat, and clear coat. Just swiping each of those on the bottom of the door will fill those little jaggies with paint and should keep rust from forming. That's all i really wanna do as no visible paint damage has been done to the car.

Had my fusion for about a week and today i picked up my grandma. She's going to be staying with us for a week and a half. Of course she loved the car! Loved it so much she accidentally opened the door to get out and hug my aunt and scrapped the bottom of the front door against the pavement curb...DON'T YOU HATE THAT? Like it's okay if it happens to someone else, but not me. lol. Anyway, if you close the door you see no damage. If you open the door and look down at the bottom of the door you see no damage..but if you run your finger along the bottom edge of the door its smooth..and when you get near the tip of the door where it scraped it feels a little rough and bumpy. Upon getting closer inspection on the ground looking up i see it's a little jagged in that area from the scrapping against the concrete but not too much damage at all....but my concern is now that there are little micro/small punctures into the base/clearcoat will it get worse years from now? Will those areas rust and spread? How can i seal it up from the bare metal being exposed to the elements. As of right now it's a problem only i see and know of..It's nothing visually damaging since its the bottom edge of the door (that scraped the ground and you have to feel it to know its been scraped against the ground or look at it from the bottoom up...but my concern is protecting the little paint chipped areas in that little area... Is that now a weak area of my car door? I don't want the paint to start chipping off months from now or anything...i dont think it will spread or anything, just worried rust will get there since the metal in those few scrapped areas where metal is exposed from the scratching is those little jagged areas you'd have to see with a magnifying glass.

Looks like I'm either going to go with 1.9% APR with a credit union for 60 months vs. 2.9% going with Ford for 60 months. The savings is several hundred dollars and that's more money putting towards the actual car vs. interest. As for the $500 i'm sure i'll get that. I'm putting my cards on the table and have a pretty convincing argument. What is still in the air though is if I want to just get 1.9% APR with ford for 48 months and save myself the hassle of going with another union and getting approved the same day im getting the car. The car will be ready after inspection in 2 hours. This is so down to the wire. So my real options are can my credit union beat 1.9% APR for 48 months and if so by how much (because if its not that much of a difference then its not worth the headache) I'll stick with ford for 1.9% over 48 months. If I'm going to stick with the 60 months its cheaper and better to go with my union at 1.9% versus Fords 2.9%. My question to all of you now is did you have any problem getting your Rebates or were they just offered to you? Because offering me $500 off but being locked in to a 6.99% APR is just retarded to me and fraud.

You didn't get the hybrid.

Hmmm. It's showing that in my area I can get $500 cash back (alone) or $500 cash back with 2.9% APR for 60 months. The fine print for the second one with financing is to take retail delivery from dealer stock by 6/3/13 (no problem there). $500 back with 2.9% APR seems legitimate to me. Ford.com says its in my area. Now is there any way a dealer could modify this or refuse to make this available for me specifically? Am I entitled to this since everywhere on Fords website and around the net this is the current offer in my area or can they say nopeeee only with 6.99%!

Okay so I'm purchasing my 2013 Fusion Hybrid Titanium tomorrow and I'm getting X-Plan pricing and $750 Ford private offer. Now I'm aware the hybrids get an extra $500 off but here's what I was offered from my salesperson: 2.9% APR for 60 months or $500 off with 6.99% APR Does that sound about right? I thought the $500 off was manditory or just -as is- as a rebate. I didn't know there were qualifications that went with it if you were financing. I mean of course we're all financing, but did you guys get that choice of whether you wanted the $500 off with higher APR or just skipping it so you can get the normal 2.9% APR rate? This just seems like a gype to me. I thought Ford gave this rebate to ALL buyers equally with the 2.9% APR for 60 months. Not that it was an either or senerio...2.9% or $500 off (with 6.99% APR fine print). So what should i do? Demand my $500 rebate because i'm entitled to it as all new buyers are with the standard 2.9% rate for 60 months or pass up on the $500 off because in reality it's only for those who want a higher APR (which to me isn't useful unless you plan on paying the car off in 6-12 months).

Were the door sill plates hard to put in? How long did it take you? What extra work or steps was necessary? Was it something an average person could do or someone with at least some knowledge of wiring, etc. How did you get the lights connected? DETAILS MAN! I'M A DOCTOR, NOT A PHYSICIST!

For those that don't know..here are the new prices for the new features on the 2014 Fusion. The following prices are for both the SE and Titanium Trims only: $190 - Inflatable Rear Seatbelts $150 - Heated Steering Wheel $465 - Heated/Cooled Seats The following price is for the SE Trim only: $520 - Intelligent Access w/Push Button Start None of the above options come in packages so they add to your vehicles pricing/discount pricing like any other non-standard feature. Personally none of them jump out and shout, "WAIT AND ORDER A 2014 FUSION!", except prospective SE buyers. Intelligent Access is arguably worth waiting for and with the price of the other technology features being much more expensive they make this look like a bargain and it's the one tech feature you actually will be using everytime you use your car. As for inflatable rear seatbelts...those are pretty expendable I would think. It's the front people that are more at risk of a fatal accident in even the mildest crashes than the person in back, but at just $190 many may feel it's "cool" just to add it anyway. However, if you're buying a brand new Fusion I would hope these are something you'll never have to use anytime in the owning of your vehicle. Same goes for the Heated Steering Wheel. I see most people either not needing this or using regularly. For just $150 though the people that want the most complete Fusion (like I did) may add it anyway for that "ya-never-know" mentality. Heated seats are already there so I'll just say you're paying $465 for cooled seats and some people say it works and some people say it doesn't. All in all, when you look at the options individually they seem to be pretty much bargain add-ons... but when you look at them all together an extra $805 is a lot to pay for a steering wheel with cool rear belts you *hopefully* will never use...oh yea..and seats that cool your butt. As for SE buyers..As always...if you're going for a fully loaded SE you're smarter and wiser just getting a fully loaded Titanium as the price difference is about $1000 or less and then you get EVERYTHING.

Wouldn't be much use with todays electronics as a two prong. It's a three-prong plug so high powered devices such as laptops and stereos and game systems can be used in the car...not just ipods and cell phones. However you would be crazy to plug in a household vacuum cleaner or the like in it.

After three weeks of my new car being in the dealership shop after owning it for one day they got the problem fixed: They canceled my purchase, gave me back $30,000 and placed an entirely new order on the vehicle after releasing me of all liability on the brand new car. Awesome, considering to fix this one problematic light they had to shut down the hybrid system to prevent any possible voltage leaks from frying the cars electronics and dismantle the interior and engine of the car. *rolls eyes*

My new Fusion HyTi came with a huge blemish on the right side of the front bumper...literally dirt or some dirty oil got lodged between the paint and the clearcoat at the factory leaving a dirt spot you'd think you could wipe off....but would never come off...saw it the morning i got my fusion after picking it up the night before when it was dark....very next day its at the shop and they took pics of it and approved the paint...your dealer should approve the paint...your car is under warranty for a number of years and its to my knowledge that ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO THE CAR THAT ISNT YOUR CAUSE OR THE CAUSE OF SOMEONE ELSE IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY...so if paint chips on its own its a defect and defects are covered...they took my entire front bumper off and had to sand down the blemish spot and repaint it...the next day after the paint dried they sprayed the clear coat on and let it dry and i picked it up later...ford did it themselves..and i had worries too about the bumper being repainted but guess what... ...IT LOOKED AMAZING. It looked as good as the factory and the color matched and my white platinum was sparkly with the rest of the car as if it werent even repainted. i was surprised at the quality and spee dof the work..just one and a half days...but as most others do i worried about the longevity of the paint job..it looked good now but will it fade and scratch and chip before the rest of the car because it isnt a perfect "factory finish"? Fortunately they said the painted bumper is under lifetime warranty too..so for as long as I own the car i wont have to worry about it..anything happens to it then ford will take care of it for free....now this of course was because its on the due bill...my dealer added a number of things to th e due bill the next day and all those things ill never have to pay for... so there are two things to get out of this. 1. paint jobs depend on the quality of work of the person doing it...but if my dealership can get white platinum tricoat perfect then anyone can who can do high quality work..so just take the risk because if they mess up they repaint..beats living with the messed up bumper 2. find problems within a day or so of getting your new car so they add it to the due bill...MAKE SURE THEY DO THIS...that is your insurance policy that this wasnt just fixed but was something due to you at the time of purchase so it will always be fixed no questions asked. If its put on the due bill you dont pay for it and you dont have to worry about any mistakes because they'll keep redoing it until its the quality of a brand new car sold to you the day you paid for it.

With your track record you'd probably keep it for only a year anyway. Not a worthy investment. Stick with a 2014 Ecoboost and celebrate with a nice, warm steering wheel on those lonely cold nights Nothing sportier than that :P BTW.. a Taurus wagon?!?! What on earth were you thinking back in 1990? You'd pick up a hot soccer mom? This baby has sporty written alllllll over it. And for just $995 too!

I believe i have the same small hole so that could just be a factorial thing which is why it doesnt go al lthe way through? It's so small and not noticeable unless you do what you're doing and look for it...however the blemish i do not have and that deserves some looking into at the dealer i'd say the least..
