  1. You can buy the pedals yourself. Together they cost $104 which is about the $100 they took off the car for excluding them. It could have been that they had a shortage of them when the 2013 was being created which has been relieved now. Who knows..but I ordered some from Ford Parts for $100 and so I'm not complaining.
  2. They did a wonderful job on the bumper. it looks like nothing ever happened to it and it comes with a lifetime warranty so even if 5 years from now the car looks good and the bumper begins chipping they'll fix it as long as its nothing i caused. the bezel was a small part replacement so it looked fine...i think they have high quality work...their body shop certainly does..i can only hope their senior repairmen and master repairmen in the service department are as thorough and high quality in their work.
  3. turns out there is a problem with an ABS module and i guess the park brake works but it keeps displaying that warning..so they have to replace the module..it was hard going to the dealer and seeing panels taken out of the inside of the car (less than a week old and its being taken apart) to find out what the problem was...unfortunately the module is in the back of the engine area in the upper right and so they will haev to take things apart just to get to it and take it out and replace it ...this is major work to me and its jsut upsetting my brand new car has to be picked and handled and taken apart...im just scared they wont put things back together perfectly. i have no doubt they'll fix the issue..but at what cost? other problems a week, a month, a year down the road :/ Maybe its just paranoia but so far my cars been at the dealership a lot...the chrome bezel around the gear shift knob had to be replaced because it was scratched up from the factory...the front bumper had to be removed and repainted because of a blemish of dirt caught between the paint and the clearcoat during the factory painting leaving a permanent "dirt" spot...now it looks as good as new and stuff...but this ABS module is all thats left..and while the other small cosmetic things were fixed and were nothing in my eyes...this just seems big to me and leaves me worried at their quality of work and hoping its pretty high.
  4. I paid $249 and got 15% "limo" tint on rear windows and back window. looks really good. dealer recommended place that works close to the local ford dealership. lifetime warranty as well. it looks so sharp and he did such a good job it was clear right off his lot.
  5. That's true...and it sucks when they want to wash your car EVERYTIME YOU TAKE IT IN FOR THEM TO COVER SOMETHING UNDER WARRANTY...im starting to see fine scratches all over the touch panel black area on the door. It really sucks that area is made of glossy plastics because its the outside of the car and scratches so damn easily. Truly only for hands only. Any rag would scratch that.
  6. If they used a power wash it could of just been horrible luck. The angle at which the person holding it caused the jet to blast at an edge of the chrome and as the guy stood there just blasting away more and more water starting going into that crevice essentially pulling it apart..you have to remember that on a micro level that force of water could blast cities straight off the map (think about what would happen to an ant mound or the "ever strong" spider web that's 5 times the strength of steel of the same weight when blasted with such pressures. it will rip right through them)...and so when he was finally done washing your car the poor piece was barely hanging on to the car underneath until...poop...it just fell off. Your piece may not have been as hardly attached to the car as it should have been on an edge, but nonetheless...whatever that free wash was...they caused the strip to weaken and get pulled up from its adhesive roots! I'd blame the dealer and their washing practices.
  7. That's just one car. Don't judge quality of a car that sells hundreds of thousands by the outliers in the bunch. That piece was probably not assembled right from the start...then again as the author noted maybe it was the wash it went through in which its not Fords fault but the car wash place for using unnecessarily high-power washing..which could damage anyones car, not just this one in a number of ways. When chrome trim begins falling from Fusions all across america then we can talk about the quality of the adhesion.
  8. I talked to my dealer! It's going in for checking monday. thanks guys
  9. As of this morning..out of the blue... a wonderful sunny day my fusion decides it's also a perfect day to have a technology breakdown. So I'm starting it up (hybrid titanium) and it gives me this warming "Park Brake - Limited Function - Service Required" Has anyone else got this or had this or had to get their parking brake looked at. I don't even use the thing so i dont know why it's giving me that error...oh the joys of electronic everything! Oh also..my "Service Engine Soon" light is on now too. Had the vehicle for one day and a half days so far.
  10. You want a better Sony PlayStation 3 go to England. You want faster 100 megabytes per second download speed for less than American DSL go to Japan. You want a more luxurious car than the somewhat comparable Ford Fusion in the United States, buy a Mondeo elsewhere. There are always regional differences in products of all kinds..not just cars. Some areas don't even get Blu-ray and are forced to only buy their favorite movies in DVD still. How aggravating do you think it is for them to know the whole world has Blu-Ray except them? You're in America...home of the free as in everyone wants something for nothing, everyone is entitled to the same opportunities and chances as everyone else, and most importantly when buying a new car- everyone wants to save money. In other places there arent as many safety regulations, road rules, etc. for citizens so people can do more and manufacturers can too. In other places it may actually be worthwhile to offer more luxury than it is in others. That's just how it is. Just as expensive houses are created and sold in upper-class neighborhoods and not in downtown ghetto's...so are expensive cars with better options sold in some parts of the world over others. I guess in terms of the Fusion to Mondeo debate...Europe is the upper-class neighborhood for Ford so they can offer them more and more first. And America is the middle-class, economy neighborhood where just as some people are just happy to have a roof over their head, we're just happy to get great MPG and cool features some of the "rich folks" have. Will we have everything they have? Nope...but at least we have more than those guys driving those other cars...
  11. Thank you both so much for the information. I feel much better now that I know.
  12. Just picked up my fusion and had this happen today. The sound chime was coming from the dash area and then it sounded like it was coming in surround sound from the speakers afterwards and couldnt replicate it coming from just the dash area again. So weird...it's nothing that really bothers me because i think its suppose to come from the dash area and it sounds fine coming out through the speakers too although i dont think its suppose to come out in that surround sound for everyone to hear...but its nothing major...if anything i think it may be a glitch in the wiring or tech and so the sound sinks into the sound system speakers (despite not sounding bad) instead of staying in the little dash speakers like its suppose to.
  13. Just got my Fusion hybrid titanium and so far the only problem I have found (apart from the engine possibly sounding weird when it comes on) is that the chrome trim square of the gear shift area was a little cihpped like i got one that was a bad one in the pile at the factory. It's noticeable to me and so i can imagine to anyone else who looks down at it so im going to have the dealer replace it. It's connected to the leather and stuff of the knob so i dont know if that means they have to replace the entire unit? or maybe it just snaps off and they replace the plastic? Anyway, just mentioning this to anyone who gets their new fusion to look out for..make sure the chrome plastics arent peeling at the edges or looked scraped off in any way.
  14. I just picked up my Fusion Hybrid Titanium and sometimes when I'm just sitting idling the engine will come on if its been a while...i assume thats normal..like if its been sitting for several minutes...or when i push on the accelerator sometimes to start moving the car i can hear the engine. What bothers me is the sound the engine is making. Is it sort of loud to you guys even when you're in the car. It's silent when it's in electric mode..but the times the engine turns on you can really hear it and its like this loudish groan or something. I don't know if I can compare it to anything..I may ask to test drive one of the other hybrids on the lot despite having mine,,im just worried my engine may be bad already? or maybe it sounds like all of your hybrids.
  15. If Ford took that feature away and said it wasn't "up to snuff yet" and isn't "robust enough" That means the technology used in the earlier generation 2013 fusions isn't adequate enough for Ford to make mainstream in hundreds of thousands of these cars. Who knows what they found...maybe the connections and tech behind it arent made to last as long as they would like and you'll have problems 3-7 years down the road...maybe its just too expensive to make or fix making it more expensive for you to fix out of warranty versus traditional buttons..who knows really why they said its not good enough right now...all we know for sure is that people with non-touch sensitive buttons have the "system that works as advertised" and people with the already ditched touch buttons are "happy while it works".
  16. The Wifi Hotspot created by the vehicle is useful under two conditions...you have a fast data speed connection to your phone from your plan provider and you dont have to worry about data usage restrictions. If these two conditions are met you can not only use the wifi hotspot feature but users in your car can enjoy the benefit of it. It's all about being able to be connected to the internet and when you're traveling you aren't. Passengers can't use their laptops to connect to the internet, they can't use their portable devices online, etc. With the hotspot feature you can use one cell phone (or mobile broadband device) to give its internet access to the car thus letting the car distribute it to everyone in the vehicle so all passengers can use the internet while you're traveling. This is great for long vacations, etc. Another reason why this is great is because you can have people connect to your car hotspot without having to give out having to give out your phones information to everyone to connect. This insures the information they save on your computer for the hotspot is only used once, or when they are in your vehicle...they arent saving passcode information for your phone permanently on their devices. If your phones data connection is slow even for you to use yourself then i dont imagine it will be very useful for anyone else, let alone a car full of people. Also using the car's hotspot may be stronger than connecting to the phone in the same vehicle because the car has a stronger built in router and antenna for delivering the speed consistently across the entire car versus someone holding up the cell phone in the middle of the car so everyone gets the best signal strength to it.
  17. Hi, My VIN # is 3FA6P0RU9DR282209. Can I have a status update please?
  18. I don't think they have to leave the Escape because it doesnt compete with the Fusion being in a different class of vehicle .... Fusion < Taurus < Lincoln ....the Escape doesn't fit in that sequence so for its class I think it's safe to keep its offerings.
  19. Yup...and an ugly copy too..I remember when the new Avalon came out a month or two after the Fusions debute in January 2012..i was shaking my head...and Toyota seriously put months and years into developing THAT?...it looks too much like a fusion wannabe...except if the fusion was a fat, big mouthed whale with front end deformities...but this is Toyota afterall..they can get away with disasters in the looks department because people buy their vehicles for reliability...not looks clearly.
  20. Is that how most of your guys trunks look or could that be a litttleeeee bit misaligned? From the bottom side its easier seen its leaning towards the left a little..but that would mean nothing to me when looking at the top there is no gaps between the lights on the trunk and on the car...but what does catch my eye is the lights on the trunk and on the car dont line up..its very small, but could be noticeable with the lights on? Is there any way to fix that or am i just seeing things and all of you guys that have your fusions it looks the same with no problem? Just wondering because my cars currently sitting off the train in my city as of 6am this morning and delivery is expected to be wednesday but im hoping earlier. Sometimes i wish we could just pick it up from "Amtrak" and drive it to the dealer lol. My baby is here!!! Come with daddy..let's get you all checked out so you can go home!
  21. Just another way the new fusion loves to make its owner happy :P
  22. You may be able to do the Mondeo/Fusion headlight magic trick swap..but keep in mind that whole Amber turn signal thing manufacturers have to abide by for vehicles sold in the US. They don't have that in Europe...so notice how the Mondeo LED headlights do not have the Amber/orange turn indicators on them...so now instead of an easy pull out and swap entire light housings you'll have to make a more intricate modifying process to use your housing and their bulbs....but with the whole heat issue your housing may not be compatible with their bulbs...or at least if you see burns or discoloration in the future you'll know :P .... anyhooo...what do i know? lol...we need some guinea pigs that care enough to order europe mondeo lights and put them on their american fusions to test it for the rest of us
  23. In the end no car has EVERYTHING any person could want. There will always be that one feature you wish it had so you would never have to look at another vehicle again...but on the brightside...most 2013 Fusion owners seem to be nagging at its lack of LED headlighting...while owners of any other vehicle are wishing their car had a handful of Fusion offerings. I think that in itself says something. At least with a Fusion you can pimp out your LED headlights and make it unique since you do it yourself and have a huge array of sellers to get different kinds of lights from. The process is cheap as LEDs cost as low as $6 bucks and once you do the accessorize you have nothing else to complain about (blatantly ignores MFT in this statement). I love this car.
