  1. Gpitty,Super clean car. I was looking at your photobucket pictures when I clicked your photo and noticed your grille is blacked out, along with tints on your headlight and taillight. What kind of tint/overlay/vinyl you use for your lights and grille? I've been seriously considering doing exactly what you did to your grille and lights for a while now, just wasn't sure how it'd look in real life. Really diggin it! Gives it the extra mean-ness I think it's missing. (Still pretty aggressive looking, stock.. But still could use some more in my opinion) Also, why is your car so shiny?! That paint looks darker then the normal Ford blue..
  2. Can anyone suggest any particular cold air intake brand/model that they have installed or have heard good things about?
  3. Just wanted to double check... Do sync updates comes to every Ford owner in the mail?
  4. I have also experienced this "shudder." Will def be following this thread.
  5. taylorjd, How exactly did you feed your charger cable underneath the dash? Also, where did you find a coiled cable that length? Im assuming it has to be fairly long in length to reach from the window to the middle console, underneath the dash.
  6. Has anyone look at the Visual Garage website lately? I tried ordering one for my 13FF, but there is no Ford option under the manufacturer drop down menu. Is anyone else experiencing this? Im guessing they are just out of stock..
  7. Has anyone done any work with plastidip on their 13 FF? Just curious to see if there is. Please post any pictures you have!
  8. Where did you see rally armor mud flaps available for 2013 fusions? They have them for past models and the focus st but I didnt see them for 13 ff. Are you referring to the Ford mud flaps?
  9. I really wish they just came out with these headlights for the U.S. release. The one thing, besides the mileage, that I was a little disappointed about was how pedestrian the headlights were. Ford didn't even bother putting in the bright white bulbs stock, or any LED accent lighting, which is definitely on almost every other car, even cars in lower tiers. I guess they are waiting for the 2014 or even 2015 before they start incorporating these into the U.S. Fusion. Anyways I found some youtube videos of some headlight demonstration of the Mondeo's headlights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6GFKu2cIdg
  10. Anyone thinking about or has already installed Rally Armor mud flaps to their 2013 Ford Fusion? The link is below. I am wary about getting these because they are pretty expensive and you have to figure out how to install it yourself since they do not make these specifically for the 13 Fusions. You would have to get the universal flaps. http://www.rallyarmor.com/store/rally-mud-flaps-universal-c-60_116.html
  11. I have noticed this too. I think it may be intentional.. ?
  12. Anyone know how to repair curb rash? Im not sure if I want to go through the whole process of sanding, putty, primer, and paint. I was hoping anyone knew how to "clean it up" so it doesnt look as bad.
  13. I actually never thought of that. Well as long as other fusions have it then im not concerned. I may stop by the dealer though to see what is causing the hazy blemish inside. It even appears to have alot of dust inside the headlight fixture. From my understanding, your headlights should be totally sealed to prevent any moisture getting inside. Anyone know if this is right or is the dust insignificant?
  14. Thanks, I will have to check that out. And youre right the headlight recall was november.
  15. I have noticed a few things about my headlights. This can possibly be related in/directly to the headlight recall, so I wanted to get some opinions from people who are familiar with the headlight recall issue. Just for some background, the headlight recall was placed sometime in December. My Fusion was put into production Jan 11 2013 and when I picked it up a few months ago, I was told that the headlight recall was corrected during production. I am now doubting if it was, whether the salesperson was misinformed or just did not care. Here is what I noticed: Hole in Headlights In the red circles is what appears to be a hole on the inside of the headlight front plastic. This hole has not penetrated to the outside. It is on both headlights. Deformity Inside Headlights Again, in the red circle is what appears to be some sort of blemish or defect on the inside of my headlights. It appears to be some kind of foggy blemish that only occurs where the light is hitting the plastic. I even shined a bright LED light onto the spot to see if it is just the reflection of the light. These pictures are with the LED shining right on the blemish. Does anyone else have these issues on their headlights as well? One thing I noticed is that my lights are noticeably warm to the touch. I have never noticed this on my other cars. My fear is that the heat from the bulbs are altering and causing defects to the inside of the plastic. I also have a notion to believe that this is what the headlight recall was meant to fix. Can anyone confirm what the headlights before the recall repair looked like, and what it looked like afterwards? Thanks. I appreciate the help!
  16. Has anyone done any tail light mods ei red overlays, smoked out, etc to their 13FF? Been reading alot about the head light HID conversion but no mods for the rear.
  17. I have a 2.0L but I also noted the below claimed average mpg. Anyways saw this ob motortrend. They test drove the 1.6L and found below claimed mpg as well. Coukd be because they probably were driving it pretty liberally, but just something I thought ppl might be interested in reading. www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/1212_2012_2013_midsize_sedan_comparison/ford_fusion.html
  18. The taillights alone make me sorta wish I dished out a few more grands for the titanium.. but thats a first world problem. Nice pics though! Speaking of the awd bias, I think I saw on the ford website that it is a 70/30 F/R power distribution. I could be wrong cause I can't seem to find where I saw that spec and of course the ford salesmen had no idea what I was referring to when I asked about it. Could be wrong as you guys probably know more since you actually have the awd option.
  19. www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/1212_2012_2013_midsize_sedan_comparison/ford_fusion.html Just for anyone who is still interested, motortrend also observed an mpg lower than the specs for the 1.6L, although im sure they were driving it pretty liberally.
  20. Just curious, has anyone mod their intake or blowout valve? Just curious since I still havent seen any after market mods for the 13 ff. Also, does anyone know if the 13 FF have blowout valves? I was told that some cars that come stock with a turbo do not often come with bovs. Sorry if this deviates from the original thread topic. Just thought this might be sort of relevant.
  21. These were my thoughts too as I was posting my last post. I decided to anyways, despite the risks of sounding a whiney, but I figured itd be the best way to learn. My last car was a 02 celica gt and I averaged about 30 mpg, so I feel like my previous experience definitely skewed my expectations. Thanks for all the informative responses.
  22. I noticed a strange thing about the driving behavior of my FF2.0L on highway driving. It has been difficult to get into and remain in that cruising speed where my MPG is consistently at around 30 mpg, as the slightest push on the pedal shoots the mpg down to around 20-22, and the speed does nor increase at all. If I am pushing the pedal slightly less, then I end up losing speed and I have to accelerate back up to cruising speed, which then consequently uses more gas. This would not be as intriguing to me if the variance in highway mpg wasnt effected so drastically by the SLIGHTEST change in the throttle, with no resulting significant change in speed. I mean literally, it is probably a matter of pushing the pedal a cm or 2 more/less that makes the mpg meter flux all over the place. Hopefully this post makes sense. Perhaps this is just how Ford made this midsize sedan a more "responsive" and fun ride, or perhaps I am lacking knowledge on how combustion engine and the throttle works. Or maybe im just looking to pour more fuel over the fire. I will say though that since my last post, I have not seen any increase in mpg and it is extremely dissapointing... will be bringing it up to my dealer when I pick up my tags.
  23. Can you provide a link for the tail lights you ordered?
  24. Is there any adapter that would not use the bluetooth and thus drain the battery if left plugged in, ei some type of hard line from the fusion's port to your phone?
