  1. Look at the front page of every major newspaper and all networks and what have we been blessed to see as CAP workers? That the UAW leadership at CAP wasn't under the impression that the laws applied to them. At CAP we have been told it was a lie, rumor, many on high paying appointed jobs going with the party line to keep the gravy train rolling. Launch has been a prime example, the 16 Explorer launch has been like our plant you can hear the proverbial fat lady singing. Our for now not fired Chairman is not allowed on the floor but is being paid, ya your right Decker we should be all good. Let's all just keep saying it and keep the 7x12's rolling.
  2. We should have figured that after the loss for Quinn things would heat up at CAP. EEOC lawyers and FBI swarming the plant yesterday. Yes the FBI, let's put on our seat belts!
  3. The only way a SPC could be told to report to pre-delivery is if that was their last classification as per contract page 35. But to the main point the key question is who agreed to cut jobs outside of the re - balance period and premium jobs at that.
  4. Littlecountry and Langston Hughes if you have not noticed from the lack of reception or respect given, the company top to bottom ignores the IUAW except when they need concessions. They donate to Black Lack upkeep and jacket orders to connected officials and pay for a Lion Share of Sub-Council's and that is the bargain. Henry Ford made the comment once you give the keys to the Executive Dining room to the Union it is over and look at where we are at, 60 years later how right he was! We have officials threatening young members that if they do not vote them in for a union dues increase their jobs will be eliminated, and the reality is the dues increase is for their raises to continue, for their expense accounts to continue and so it goes. The President of the IUAW Bob King said it all months ago when he said there was no future for the Union or raises if transplants were not organized, the VW defeat was the beginning of the end! History will show that the IUAW was an organization that could not except different views of the future of labor and collapsed from its own weight and for those of us that can remember we will tell stories of what was and what might have been.
  5. Decker not sure how many people took the time to read the book(I mean letter) the activist put out but he claims it is about the membership and team but the Freudian slip is all over the book I mean letter, I, me. This is the individual that put the same people in office that now he is against! And you are right he said not 1 word about the local account at $585 thousand and dropping quicker than Al Roker on a greasy flag pole. But he will address it I am sure in his magazine that we spent $30 thousand on last year and the President who he opposes(LOL) put him in charge of.
  6. When elected officials are failing and cannot defend their actions it is typical for individuals to blame and look to the past. How ridiculous and gutless for the current officials to try and blame others for their short comings. If they are unable to do the job they asked for and the only way for them is to look to blame those of the past it is telling of their lack of leadership and they should step down. As UAW12 pointed out the only thing that the current officials hack can say is blame it on the last person and never defending or saying they stand by their decisions. This is the state of the plant where the knee jerk reaction is it was somebody else's fault, when a person is a Bargaining Unit that works but when you are Chairman or President it comes across as weak and spineless. This is what the Republican Congress does to President Obama that everything is his fault, then as our group at the plant they should step down.
  7. FPS signed, Manpower Temps in the plant, responsible for raising Union Dues on every IUAW member the title of the thread says it all, "A New Low at Chicago Assembly".
  8. Another Red Flag for CAP, it was confirmed that a "failure to report letter" has been sent to the Local 551 Union Hall from the Department of Labor lawyers stating we are in violation of Federal Law. We paid for all the officials to travel to Las Vegas and stay at the Palms Hotel to learn about and turn in their top responsibility the LM2 report. And this is the group that presented the Union Dues increase for all UAW members and will be responsible with the memberships money! According to the Department of Labor each official can be fined $100,000 dollars for not turning in the report and up to 10 years in prison. But Hog I am sure you are right it is just an oversight.
  9. Pursuant to a voluntary compliance agreement, UAW Local 551 will conduct new nominations for District Committeeperson Board positions. This is on page 1 and on page 2 is the dates. The Chair of the Election committee said the 2 page "compliance agreement" was a typo. So they typed 2 pages with nomination dates in bold, handed them out to candidates for the Convention in the election rules but it is a typo. Then a text sent to a candidate stated the Election Chair has great lawyers! Looks like those lawyers will get plenty of use over the next several months.
  10. The million dollar question for us at Chicago ASsembly is why would our Chairman Coby Millender, President Carlo Bishop, Unit Fred Weems and Unit Aaron Straker present a motion to raise every UAW members dues! Maybe this was their Christmas gift to the IUAW crew.
  11. If I voted to raise every members dues as you did I would be a little touchy also. Ex-Chaair, if you only knew just how close my office is to yours. Never shut your computer off or logout of your email account, you have given us a treasure of information. I do like the sound of me being Chair from my spot.
  12. Not to sound fatalistic Spring but I am going to sound fatalistic! The IUAW has shown time and time again they could care less who is at the Convention once they got the Chairman, President and Units to stand at Sub-Council and make a motion to raise dues for every UAW member that it was a done deal. Our delagates from Chicago Assembly are going to go down as the group that started the dismantling of the UAW as we have known it. The silent majority at CAP has never been this angry at its elected officials!
  13. jerrymaker I completely agree. The IUAW officials that are not beholden to anyone, especially the membership find local officials such as the ones at Chicago, promise appointed jobs and get them to vote against their own membership, aka raising Union dues for all IUAW members, FPS program and then feed those same individuals to the wolves aka the membership that they did not have their best interest in mind. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely!
  14. Decker spot on about the IUAW, but the problem is that too many local politicians are looking for cush appointed jobs. We had an issue with MP&L last week at CAP and a political hack put into an appointed spot sent the District Rep an e-mail taking the companies side, the district rep has been at 4 plants, served as a Unit, H&S and never seen a company run union at any facility around Detroit. An Appointed rep that told the district reps to come to a quality meeting would have been told to do their job or be removed. Especially when she took the companies side!
  15. Decker, Roadhog does not even need to campaign for con con delagate, I can personally say as I am sure you can that members on the floor can not wait to show how happy they are with them voting to increase our dues. I believe Marx called this crew in his day "usefull idiots".
