2013 MKZ All Weather Floor Mats ....
jschmitt3 replied to jschmitt3's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
That was my first thought, but the driver front mat in question was the only one that had the mat "tie downs" on them. So I know it is the intended mat. Still doesn't seem right though John -

Oh boy .... I was thinking exactly the same thing ... I absolutely love everything about that Dune interior - but yes it definitely has high "scuff" capacity ... With 2 kids (10 & 7) - I can see myself needing to have a good handle on how to clean all dune surfaces pretty soon! If anyone finds a product/products that are recommended - let us know! Also, I already have (not sure if it was there before) 2 minor scratches on the chrome (? i think it is chrome) on either side of the cup-holder doors. Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance - John -
So I go and pay the extra (whatever) $75 for the all-weather floor mats for my hybrid Z - and I'm kinda wondering ... did anyone else order these things? Here's my real question? why is it that the front driver all-weather floor mat is the same size as the two rear passenger floor mats while the front passenger's size is more representative of what I would have expected from both of the front seat mats. It makes no sense to me that the driver gets a floor mat that does not run the full length up towards or just short of the brake/gas pedals. Any thoughts? John

Tracking MKZ Hybrid Mileage
jschmitt3 replied to tanner83's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
Still very, very early, but I'm at 38 mpg through my first 24 hours .... If I can get consistently in the 40-41 range, I'll be thrilled! -

Finally checked out an MKZ in person.
jschmitt3 replied to ZanatWork's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
I think there is a good chance of that happening in the next year or so ...... (there have been some Detroit rumors that have been flying on the net - that says that Lincoln might just be willing to do that with the MKZ) John -
Here's my predicted good news .... You've made your last request of Cyberdman! (Keep your fingers crossed) John

I know it's hard to think this way..... But be patient a little longer! That day you drive it off the lot will make it all worth it! I was trying to be calm driving home ... But I couldn't help it! It's a great feeling those first couple of days! I remember Tanner saying the same thing to a bunch of us after he endured what seemed like an impossible wait! 2 months and 3 days seemed like forever for me, but keep in mind others waited much longer! I'm pretty sure you'll get yours within 10 days! Hang in there .... Ill post photos and more of my first impressions over the next few days! (I'll do my part To keep your obsession ratcheted up ... After all it will make your delivery date all that much better! John

The car is in my driveway! :-) Put about 30 miles on it ... Unfortunately by the time all was ready to go ... It was too dark for photos; I'll get some up tomorrow mid-late afternoon! John
-
Looks like it .... I have not heard from the dealer directly yet .... but Chelsea at LCS did reach out to me this morning and told me that the car had been delivered to the dealership this morning! I have a scheduled 7pm pickup time ..... John
-
Completely unofficial opinion here .... but I would say that you are probably looking at a Fri. pickup at your dealership ... :-) John Mine was in Walbridge Ohio, last Wednesday ........ (mine should be ready to pick up tonight)

:-( Tinting is completely illegal in PA .... and they crack down on it all the time! Not even worth my effort .... John -
But keep in mind - your probably have not hit your break-in period yet ..... (usually 2-3k miles) ... Keep reporting ..... I'll be able to start monitoring my numbers in a just 2 days .... (If I end up getting 41 - I'll be thrilled!) :-) John
-
it does not come right away ...... it came to me in an email 7-9 days later ...... John
-
It doesn't matter what vehicle you choose, the coupon if you get it is for most of Ford/Lincoln vehicles (the exceptions are on the coupon); the MKZ is not excluded from the list John

Ok - not an exact science - but it has worked for a bunch of people .... if you go out to the Ford website and go to where you can "Order a brochure" (http://www.ford.com/brochures/) - they will ask you wether you want a printed one mailed to your house or simply download one! I actually did both - I ended up getting an email a few days later (maybe 5-7 days) that issued me a private $750 cash offer. I needed to print out the email and take it with me to the dealer. Then today - about 10 days after also asking for a physically printed brochure, i recevied a similar coupon the US Mail along with the printed brochures that were sent out. I was only able to use one of these "private cash" offers per purchase .... but that should tell you that there are multiple ways to get the "private cash" deal. I combined the 750 private cash with the 750 conquest offer to end up with $1500 in rebates/incentives on my 2013 hybrid MKZ John
-
Update: I was in at my dealer today to negotiate my trade in .... (very happy in that regard) .... But for those of you that don't know - there is currently a "Conquest" incentive that has recently been introduced for ($750) Plus - as has been discussed up here before the $750 private cash coupon that some have received with a physical Ford brochure or via a request for an electronic brochure is also being accepted on the 2013 Lincoln MKZs. My dealer applied both $750 offers to my purchase price. This was on top of the X-plan pricing that I also had the opportunity to take advantage of ... and my car is a hybrid .... so that should alleviate some concerns as well (Some people were asking wether hybrids were eligible for these incentives) So all my paperwork is done, final numbers established, credit application filled out for financing, and I have a scheduled appointment for my pickup on Monday night ..... Won't be long now! John
