  1. Glad you & yours are all OK! My 2013 Energi was totaled on 7/9 with a much less severe collision. I had to fight back and forth between both insurance companies trying to get what I felt to be a fair market value. I finally got that and was able to purchase a new 2014 Energi last week. I'm waiting now for transport of the car from MD to TX. With regard to the rear inflatable seat belts, they are an add-on option since 2014 and not included in the Driver Assistance Package that BLIS is a part of. You'll have to check your window sticker to confirm if they were included. I'm guessing they weren't since every other safety bag deployed.
  2. It's official. Total Loss. Now I get to start negotiating "fair market value". Body shop estimate was up to $22,618 and change and they hadn't looked for suspension damage yet.
  3. So this happened on my way home last night. Elderly driver turned in front of me. Thankfully my wife and daughter were not with me and I have only some scrapes and bruising on my left arm from the airbag. I am very pleased with the car's crash performance. In particular the 911 Assist function. While I was dazed wondering where my sunglasses went after leaving my face the car called 911, reported a crash and gave the coordinates. As soon as it disconnected that call, the 911 operator called me back and took details of what happened. I was also surprised and pleased that the rear seat side airbag deployed. I would not have expected it to given the front/left nature of impact. But had my daughter been with me, that is where she sits so I am pleased. After opening my claim I am all but convinced it will be declared a total loss. While that is hard to take because I may not be able to replace her with another one, I know she would never be the same if she were repaired. The hardest part of this all is potentially saying goodbye to my 47 Minutes. I can't even hope that I would ever win another car in my lifetime and certainly not one that I've enjoyed and loved as much as this one. I will at least get my license plates back as a souvenir.
  4. I have a 13 Energi. If I the HVB does not have range remaining it alerts me at 50 miles of gas/hybrid range remaining. What I found odd was on my Christmas road trip I kept the HVB with 22 miles range on it and ran in EV Later or Hybrid mode to Tucson. While doing that the warning alerted me at 50 miles COMBINED range or just 28 miles of gas/hybrid range. Personally, I don't care for that calculation when on a road trip. That 22 miles of EV range at Hwy speeds is more like 15. I know I could just plan to refuel before the warning but I would rather it be based solely on gas range and not account for EV.
  5. Yes, I've done that almost daily with either Pandora or Xbox Music. I just saw your subsequent post referring to the instrument panel. That is still a no go.
  6. Can I have your rear window?
  7. Knowing then what I know now, I wouldn't have bothered with the glass. I hesitated when he told me it involved headliner removal. But I see that distortion every time I look through it and it bugs me. But since the replacement piece has the same distortion, it is an exercise in futility. Much like the service tech trying to photograph it as proof to Ford for warranty repair.
  8. The original had a band of distortion about 6" tall that went from one side to the other. Anything passing through this band looked like a fun house mirror. The real shame of it all is the replacement glass has the same issue. I dropped it after noticing that and the wrinkle in my head liner.
  9. I had my rear glass replaced due to defect and the headliner has to be pulled down for removal/installation of the glass. I count myself lucky that they didn't have these issues doing it. There was one wrinkle in a back corner after work was completed and I decided to live with it. Incompetent dealers and service technicians are the cause of much expense to Ford and time to owners.
  10. And the HVB in the Hybrid will last all of what, 1/4 mile at 85mph?
  11. Looks like they updated it to change dual exhaust tips to single bright tip under Hybrid Titanium standard features. Unleash the hounds!!
  12. Looks like the summer update for Sync will be making its way out soon. Here is a photo posted by Scott Monty, Social Media guru for Ford, after updating his wife's Explorer: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151485142761625&set=pcb.10151485144571625&type=1&theater When asked whether or not it was available now he replied "it's making its way out. I received mine in the mail today. It's an upgrade and improvement"
  13. I just saw that the MyDriving section is now on the website. Some interesting info. I'm not sure if it is as feature rich yet as the EV site, but it is progress!
  14. 1. There is a TSB out for the trunk lid on models with spoilers to change the tension rods and hold it up better. 4. On the driver's seat there is the easy access function that, when on, automatically slides the seat back to aid in entry/exit and then returns to the memory setting once in. Is this not in line with what you mean?
  15. I've not heard anything new from the software engineer I was emailing with a couple months ago about that same query. I still just have him saying that it is a part of the roadmap for the PHEV version of the site/app. That could mean in time for the 2015 model for all that really tells us.
  16. As for battery and trunk in the Energi... Since it seems to be the increasing norm to forgo the spare tire in favor of other "solutions", is it time to just redesign the trunk to take out the spare tire well and incorporate that space into the battery footprint?
  17. For the Energi... I get the idea behind the charge port ring as a visual cue as to the current charge level. I would, however, prefer a better implementation that doesn't leave more gaps and seams just begging for lazy body shop guys to slop wax into. I've got wax residue left on the back side of that plastic ring. My first, ignorant, attempts to remove it left me with a nice big scratch and a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. Maybe recess the plastic ring to inside the charge port door so that it is only visible when the port door is open. I don't really pay much attention to mine anyway so it could be removed altogether for all I care. Some designs have implications due to unforeseen owner stupidity.
  18. Or once more of the gas duals start getting into accidents and totaled their parts will start showing up on eBay and at junk yards.
  19. I don't see any mention of dual exhaust tips in the Energi order guide listed there. Maybe I'm tired and missed it.
  20. The below quote from my service advisor has me concerned about my Fusion Energi with a build date not included in the TSB... "The tech is already aware of that tsb. Your vehicle is already equipped with those plates on the shaft. Ford is still in the process of finding out why they still make that noise"
  21. I'm not a fan of the clear bra "kits" due to the inevitable lines and the edges of seams being unprotected. I found a shop in Dallas that does them from full sheets of the material custom cut to each car and they wrap the edge into the seams. They even do full cars. Too expensive for my wallet though.
  22. There is also a setting that automatically slides the seat back when the door is opened to allow for easy entry, then adjusts to your programmed setting. I forget what it's called, but should be in the manual.
  23. It looks that way. But I would contact your dealer and inquire about the TSB to be sure.
  24. It looks like a TSB has been released to address this issue: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3598/tsb13-05-24.htm Unfortunately, it excludes my Energi based upon build date. So I'm still waiting to hear from the service department for my next step.
