  1. Sorry I was waiting until I had check in hand to comment on this. Even after approval be ready for a long and painful process including outsourced people who just don't care. My car had multiple transmission issues along with a fuel tank, some factory cosmetic issues and a few dealer mistakes/damage. It was out of commission for 35 days between April when I got it and September. There was no lawyer involved it was the Ford reacquired vehicle program voluntary buyback. I think the fact that it was mostly transmission problems(syncro, bad adjustment upon install and a leak) is what got mine approved. It starts at the (866)631-3788 customer relations number with your district rep good luck, you have to be polite but persistent.
  2. Sorry you have had so many troubles with their buyback. My car has been approved for the Ford RAV program but they are sure taking their good old time getting it processed.....
  3. What issues have you been having? It's a shame you seem willing to take a bath on the trade in just to get out of it. If the car is that problematic why trade it in on the same car? I'm in the middle of a Ford buyback review and have no intention of getting another Fusion(nice car but the build quality sucks) I'm hoping to be done with Ford all together if they will take this thing back from me..
  4. Trust me, I understand this. The issues with Ford are the mis-formed trunk lid, poorly designed gas tank and 3rd gear synchro. Everything else is a dealer problem, Where I live the choices aren't that great.
  5. You're telling me..... Cosmetic issues from factory 2 trips(1 to inspect 1 to fix), fuel tank issue 1 trip(for inspection, fixed on the next trip with the trans), 3rd gear syncro requiring a new transmission 1 trip, went to pick up after transmission replacement started it and the clutch stayed on the floor 1 trip, picked up the next day after they bled the clutch again 1 trip, fix the damaged wheels and nick on door from visit to shop 1 trip, not 1 but 2 axle shaft seals leaking on that new transmission 1 trip. So far a total of 8 trips to the shop. 4 of them requiring overnight stays(read additional round trip to dealer for me in a rental or wife's car) resulting in me driving 30 minutes(their body shop is actually 45 away but let's say 30 for ease of math) each way to the dealer 12 times for a total diving time of roughly 12 hours plus 45min to 2 hours spent at the dealer waiting on them each time. I have at least 24 full hours(more like 32 with dealing with rental cars and car seat swapping) or 3 full working days messing around with this expensive nightmare. I know I'm rather unlucky and this isn't an indication of every Fusion out there but I really don't want mine any more.
  6. Must have accessory..... a backup vehicle. I have never had any car to the shop more time than this one, let alone one with under 5,000 miles.
  7. On the highway(not interstate) I have no problem beating the highway rating. I just did a 300 mile trip on mostly 55mph roads(doing 3-6 over) there is a 20 mile section of 65, it even included some DC beltway traffic. I'm sitting at 40.9mpg this tank.
  8. This month with 3.5.1 I went a whole 300 mile trip without voice commands had to master reset to get them to come back. Then on the trip home it rebooted itself glad it wasn't when i was needing to know where to turn. When it works it is nice but don't call BS on other peoples problems just because they don't happen to you.
  9. Took it in to get the transmission fixed. 2,700 miles and the third gear syncro is out. Makes me sick to have my car opened up for this repair. They aren't even putting in a new trans, they are replacing the syncro and gear and buttoning it back up. Add this to the paint issues, trunk molding deformation and fuel tank repairs I am having done along with the MFT hangups and this isn't the best new car experience I have ever had. I have done a quarter million miles between all manual transmission cars I've owned and never had a clutch go, let alone anything inside the transmission. I am slowly becoming disappointed in this car.
  10. This update can't come soon enough, on a 6 hour trip yesterday 1 reboot and many voice command lockups.
  11. Don't know about DVD player but this unlocks video in and address entry while in motion http://www.coastaletech.com/mytouch2.htm
  12. I have driven many cars with the push button, it is nice but I wouldn't give up the Fusion's manual transmission for it. In fact, it's a feature I wouldn't pay more than a couple hundred for as a key isn't that much of an inconvenience.
  13. My Current Tank: After 93 miles, never below the speed limit over the Bay Bridge and around DC beltway: After 300 miles I have dropped to ONLY 40.5 as I did some city driving, will get pictures towards the end of the tank. What's this about bad mileage on the 1.6? That third pedal does wonders! You can see my lifetime average in my signature.
  14. I love the SE buyers should just get a Titanium.. Tell me how to get a Titanium with a manual transmission and then we'll talk. Until then, the best reason to buy a Fusion makes you go SE
