  1. Can it be fixed, though? It's kind of annoying to be the owner of a vehicle and also the only one whose cell phone doesn't work properly with it... @HenryVIII: Thanks, it's quite an awesome car!
  2. Hi HenryVIII, I've also been experiencing SYNC connectivity issues with my Galaxy SIII (Android). Could you describe which issues you had in more details? I want to see if they're the same as the ones I'm having since I'm looking for a fix. My car connects to my phone properly through the MyLincoln Touch screen, but in the instrument cluster screen between my speedometer and tach, it says "No Phone Added - Please see touchscreen" even though they are paired and connected. I tried other phones from family members/friends, and none of theirs does the same thing.
  3. On Canadian MKZs like mine, if you're on the DRLs, the setting is the higher one and the light right under your turn signal will turn off briefly if you activate it, then turn back on (not with hazards though). If you're on the parking/accent lights when your headlights are on, they shine at a lower intensity. The fact that they're at a higher intensity than the accent lights is what fills the purpose of DRLs, and they look much nicer that way.
  4. Yeah, that sounds like something I should try if the "magic"/black electrical tape fails. Thanks for the suggestion.
  5. Probably nothing, I just wouldn't really know where to find that or how to set that up. And it's probably expensive, I don't want to buy a whole roll of it just to cover my sensor.
  6. I have to say that I'm now experiencing the same issue with the automatic lights not coming on early enough (at dusk) to my taste in the MKZ. Can anyone post pictures of what they did to the sensor on top of their dash so that I know what to do to fix the issue? I'm especially interested in a quick, easy fix with black electrical tape or something to that effect (I don't want to cover the whole sensor or too much of it and end up with having the auto lights always come on). I tried finding translucent black cellophane in my area but wasn't too lucky in that department. I also bought "magic" scotch tape (the one with a matte finish), so hopefully that can darken the sensor's surface just enough to produce a noticeable change.
  7. As a Big Three fan and firm believer in encouraging our North American auto industry, I can only commend your decision.
  8. Thanks Bearcats98! Looks like it's page 63 in the MKZ (non-hybrid) manual: Locking the Doors Press the button to lock all the doors. The turn signals will illuminate. Press the button again within three seconds to confirm that all the doors are closed. The doors will lock again, the horn will chirp and the turn signals will illuminate if all the doors and the luggage compartment are closed. Note: If any door or the luggage compartment is not closed, or if the hood is not closed on vehicles equipped with an anti-theft alarm or remote start, the horn will chirp twice and the lamps will not flash. You can enable or disable this feature in the information display. See General Information (page 100). Yep. That is the definition of a "mislock". Mystery solved. Thanks again!
  9. I ended up taking delivery of my MKZ on 6/1/2013. Here are some pictures. Enjoy! Taking delivery 6/1/2013.
  10. Here you go, cyberdman, new pictures as promised. Thanks again for your much appreciated help. Enjoy! Taking delivery 6/1/2013.
  11. For those who wonder what the difference looks like between having the front bumper LED accent lights in conventional (on with parking lights/headlights) or daytime running lights (DRL) mode, here are some comparison shots of my Canadian MKZ (note the VERY clear difference in brightness, the DRLs are absolutely beautiful): CONVENTIONAL MODE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS MODE (only come on when the vehicle's transmission is on D or R, I believe)
  12. I really don't believe you can turn this off. But I found a quick workaround for the "car honks with driver's door closed when ignition on" issue. Just shut the driver's door, but don't let it latch. On my MKZ, I really have to give a good swing to my door for it to latch. I just don't give it that much and it works fine. This will allow you to keep your climate-controlled interior as cold as you want, and the car won't honk. Plus, if you look quickly enough, your door looks (sort of) closed. Short of actually turning this "feature" off, (which seems impossible) I think that's your best bet.
