  1. Yeah it’s a good thing my side of the garage is a tandem(39feet), not sure it would fit on the wife’s side, my 2011 ccsb just fit with my toolbox behind it.
  2. Thanks akirby. It is definitely a big truck, pretty impressed with the short amount of seat time I had in it. That fuel tank is something else, fuel gauge didn’t even come off full on the drive home. The dealership must have topped it right off.
  3. Picked up my first diesel Saturday. 2019 F350 xlt CCLB, Ingot silver, only got to drive it home from the dealership I purchased it from(200km). Had to leave town for work for a couple weeks. Really enjoyed the drive. Coming from a 2011 F250 xlt CCSB with the 6.2L. It was a fantastic truck but it was time to upgrade, can’t wait to tow the fifth wheel next camping season.
  4. I am averaging 12.8 right now and that is only in town driving, in the summer when I don't have to let it warm up I am usually around 14.5-15 mpg in town driving. dclynch how do you find your truck handles towing compared to your 150 did?
  5. Dclynch those mpg #'s sound pretty low but if you are driving on gravel most of the time I would say that's why. The worst I have seen was 12.5mpg driving into a crazy head wind. I drive with a light foot and cost to a stop when traffic permits. Towing my fifth wheel I have gotten anywhere from 7.5-12 mpg. I still enjoy my 2011, I have 56,000km/35,000 miles now and no issues.
  6. My 2011 250 has the camper package as well but with the 6.2, payload is 2780lbs.
  7. Is your truck a diesel and does your 250 have the aux. springs to get that low of a payload? They also have different weight ratings so you can register them at different gvwr's.
  8. Ok than that's not going to do the trick. How about a dewalt 90 degree drill with a reverse drill bit if you can find them.
  9. Could you weld a smaller bolt to the broken recessed stud and extract it that way, it has worked for me before on a big Diesel engine.
  10. Drove across the border last weekend into Montana and picked up some firestone riderite airbags, installed them in a couple of hours. I ran the lines up to the gas door and installed the valves just below where the diesels would have the DEF tank cap. Nice and easy to fill, no bending down or having to get in between the truck and trailer to fill or deflate. I have been running 20psi in them all week to make sure they are not leaking, it lifted the back end about 1 3/4". Picked up the fver from storage and didn't have to air up anymore as it is sitting about level with 20psi. Heading out camping tomorrow, looking forward to see if the ride is as good loaded as it has been unloaded with the airbags.
  11. Twintornados, I am happy with my setup as I was able to excelerate when needing to with out having to put it to the floor. I found having the trans in manual mode on the highway works great and when in town leave it in auto with tow/haul mode. I know the diesel would pull my trailer with ease but the GVWR for my 5ver is only 9300lbs, so the big 6.7L is expensive overkill. Thinking a set of airbags will be my only addition to my TV.
  12. Finally got to take the new 5ver out this weekend, had it loaded up and a light tailwind on the way out to the site with a flat highway and managed to get 12 mpg at 62mph(pulled in 6th gear). On the way back doing the same speed and pushing in to a light headwind I got 9.0mpg( had to pull in 5th gear).
  13. Anyone have some mpg #s with the 4.30 gears and what are your rpm's at 60 mph in sixth gear?
  14. I have the 3.73 gears, see how she pulls loaded up for a trip. Next truck might have the 4.30 if I'm not happy with this setup.
  15. It's been a long wait, finally picked up my new FW today! It was a short trip home from the dealer and I had a wicked head wind to drive into and only got about 7mpg. The last bit was up a steep hill and the 6.2 was screaming on the way up but she held speed. Suspension dropped about a 1 1/2" hooked up dry, we are going to load the trailer up tomorrow and take another measurement. Other than pushing some serious wind I felt the truck pulled the FW great.
  16. went on a 224km/139mi. trip today, averaged 12L per 100km/19.2mpg and have 44007km/27344mi on my F-250 now.
  17. Never mind on the payload, went back and saw you already posted it. That is a huge difference in payload!
  18. Fordmanptw how has your 5ver held up? Do you happen to know the payload # on your truck, mine is 2749lbs, I'm sure it is a bit higher being a gas job.
  19. Yes fordmantpw, it does have the wardrobe slide. Does your F-250 have the aux. leaf spring as well?
  20. Thanks painted horse, my truck is a 2011 F-250 4X4 CC with the gas engine, it has the camper package(upgrade front springs and overloads like the F-350 on the rear). My 5ver is the flagstaff 8528bhws, I chose the 250 because I know it is going to handle the pin weight and tow the trailer just fine. I am just wondering how much it will actually squat the truck? Anyways I just got the B&W 16K hitch installed the other day so I just need to head down to the dealership and hitch up. I live in Canada so we have to wait at least a couple months before we can take it out! Moving up from a tent to a 5ver, no more sleeping on the ground for this guy!
  21. I have two car seats in my truck and prefer the hookless setup, I find the seatbelt easier to deal with, especially in the cold weather.
  22. Thanks for the input guys. I am going in this Saturday to sign the papers for my fiver. It has a pin weight of approx. 1700lbs, gvw of 9100lbs, well within my trucks specs. I have looked at the blocks on the 350's and they are about twice the height of the 250. That would be a easy and cheap way to go if my fiver squats my suspension to much.
  23. Anyone find their trucks squatting to much pulling a fifth wheel with their f-250. Purchasing a fifth wheel rv and wondering how their truck handled the weight.
