  1. After many calls to dealers I've found out that there are quite a few 2019 Edge's in stock as long as they were delivered by convoy (closer to the factory). If they have to go on rail first, then there is a big delivery snag. Dealers I spoke with were somewhat pissed at Ford as they said they can't get the cars they want in a timely manner.
  2. Very cool, thanks Gurgeh. Sounds like a good plan. Appreciate your advice.
  3. After spending quite a bit of time looking for a new vehicle my wife and I decided on a 2019 Ford Edge. So we contacted dealers and were stunned to find them saying that they only had one or two in stock. Mind you this is December 3rd and Ford started early September manufacturing the 2019. Then I was told that I could order one but that would take a good 10 weeks! I was told Ford is one of the slowest to get the cars to market. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this kind of experience? Just curious. I am located in Phoenix AZ.
  4. I thought the hardware for the AWD was new on the 2019 Edge too, with that being manufactured by AAM and that it was their 2nd gen Eco Trac disconnect system.
  5. Not the same as the 2015. This is new and a second gen AWD disconnect system using Fuzzy logic (AI) to make millisecond changes according to dozens of sensors. All new on the 2019 Edge. https://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-says-edge-uses-ai-to-manage-awd-system.html
  6. Has the ok to buy been given for the 2019 Edge? Also, just curious but does anyone know how many Edge's are produced weekly at the Canadian plant?
  7. Very nice indeed! Now that's something to look forward too.
  8. Interesting... Not being very knowledgeable in this field I would like to think the ok to buy would be sooner than later, simply because the 2019 Edge has minor changes.
  9. So it sounds like (after they are released for shipping) the the first ones off the assembly line become dealer inventory. Would I be correct in saying that there should be a good supply of the 2019 Edge by middle October assuming production starts September 3rd?
  10. Curious... What does this mean? Retail orders will not be eligible to schedule until the “OK to Buy” has been achieved. Thanks.
  11. Ice-capades, thank you for posting scheduling info.
  12. Sounds awesome... should be an outstanding ride! I'm looking at the 2019 Edge.
  13. It's so important to me that it's a deal breaker if I had no way to manually downshift, because 90% of my driving is mountainous.
  14. Was interested in the 2019 Edge but the paddle shifters were dropped, except for the AWD model. Can anyone tell me why? I drive mountain roads with 8% down grades and use the manual downshifting all the time, so without that capability it's a no go on the edge unless I go AWD. Ugh! Thanks...
  15. Thanks akirby, looks like that would make it sometime late October or November. I always thought the next year models showed up in September. Guess there are problems getting production going? Another question: Is this the first time Ford is using the 8 speed trans as I'm thinking about how reliable it will be as it is so new. Appreciate the reply's.
