  1. For what it's worth I've seen comments on the Mustang6G forum that people have pushed Coyotes to 8000 rpm without problems. There are reports of oil pump gear failures at 8k, but the suggested cause is the rev limiter. When the engine bounces off the rev limiter at 8k there are harsh vibration loads transmitted to the OPG gears. Granted that seems to be an anecdotal explanation. Some of the hard core folks suggest setting the rev limit above the intended shift point (e.g 8200 rpm for 8000 rpm shifting) to avoid bumping it routinely.
  2. I don't know the gearing numbers for the 2019, but on the 2021 (GT) shifting into 2nd at 90 mph yields about 8350 rpm. That's well above red line. I don't know if that's high enough to cause valve crash or other issues. If it sounds okay maybe you dodged a bullet. You might want to get on the S550 website and ask the question.   4. Nothing important, just my idle curiosity. I have a Mustang factory order. Vehicle was built a month ago and is sitting at the plant waiting for a train headed to CA. I've noticed that the Window Sticker is reissued every Sunday evening with a new date at the bottom of the page. Nothing else on it has changed. Why the weekly update and are window stickers revised at any other points in the production/transport/ sales process? BTW, if someone can find space for my car on an Auto Rack headed to the rail delivery yard in Benicia, CA, the help would be greatly appreciated. ?
  5. Will Ford be willing to invest money in vehicles that can't be sold yet? Manpower, materials, components all paid for and you can't recoup the investment. A quick interest calculation may convince management to delay as much of the manufacturing and purchase costs as possible until you can release vehicles for sale. It's not just roofless cars sitting in a lot, it's cash.
  6. Two questions. 1. What does "Cleanup Scheduling" mean? 2. Is the weekly scheduling a block assignment for the week or is it specific down to the actual build day and order in assembly line queue? I guess what I'm asking here is if the schedule is fine tuned a second time as the build week approaches or already set in stone. Curious because I have a GT/CS scheduled for the week of 1/11 and the logistics of running an assembly line must be an amazing challenge. Hell, if I'm trying to fix a leaky faucet I'm good for at least 3 trips to the hardware store before I have all the right parts and tools.

  8. Curious if anyone has any insight on possible impact of increased Covid cases on production. Either at the plants themselves or in the supply chain. Seems like the oddest things are in short supply at local hardware and other stores. Can't bode well for running an assembly line.
