Nautilus’s are being shipped I was told while Edges are being held for future placement of modules when they reprocess them at the plant. Like I said I’ve seen Nautlilus’s on trucks the edges are being parked with modules so they can be placed in at a later time when available.

Awesome news!  Thanks Jay for taking the time looking into this for me!

Yes indeed we are building the edges without parts and they’re parking them all over the place up here. Main plant is working anywhere from 7.5-8 hour shifts at the moment. We’re all wondering when we will be laid off again. We’ve been down over 6 weeks already in 2021.

Hi Jay,  is the Nautilus are also being built without all parts?  (I’m waiting for mine *wink wink*). Hopefully they are loaded on the rail cars!

OTD orders are restricted to specific vehicle lines and part of the new vehicle scheduling process for Escape, Edge, Mustang, Mustang Mach-E, Bronco Sport, Lincoln Corsair & Lincoln Nautilus

Ok thanks! Can you tell us what letters OTD stand for ???   Maybe Order To Day ????

I seen on automotive news Canada that OAC will end up losing over 33000 Units for the year. We’re supposed to have 1-2 weeks off a month through august. That’s the word, we will see what’s true we’ve already been down 6 weeks almost this year. Edge and Nautilus are solid Ford has decided not to revamp them so sales are bound decline eventually. It still wouldn’t have been this bad yet. This microchip crap was unforeseen. We got extra time off in December before our Xmas shutdown and now I know why.

That is really unfortunate. Sure hope it will improve soon: I have a Nautilus on order !!!

Oakville has only run for maybe 2 weeks since the beginning of January (I'm close, right @Oacjay98?) and inventory is practically nonexistent. A friend of mine wants to replace his expiring edge lease with a new one but can't find anything remotely close to what his current one is and it's not even anything terribly unique as far as options are concerned. I ran into the same issue 2 weeks ago when I got my new car.

Yes I wonder what’s are the output figures for Edge and Nautilus these days???

I like the Nautilus. I own a 2019 Naut myself.

It’s going to be my first Lincoln. I have owned big caddies in the past but I believe Lincoln have a big edge vs GM now.
My son owns a 2014 Fusion Titanium AWD and I fell in love with this car!

It's not only Canada. In the U.S., Consumer Reports' latest reliability survey shows Tesla Model X and Model Y owners report problems in "Paint and Trim" category much more frequently than average, among the worst in the whole survey. Model 3 is slightly better than Model X and Model Y but still worse than average for paint and trim issues. Model S is about average.

When confronted with the poor paint jobs, Tesla answer to Canadian owners was: There is too much salt and abrasive on your roads...

Well, M. Musk, if your cars are not suitable for our climate why selling them here??

FWIW I know two existing Tesla owners that have them on order, and one other that recently went from an X to an E-Tron and all say they are done with Tesla for service, quality issues. Tesla sales are also  falling in the EU and they have the issue that Stellantis will not need to buy their credits in the EU / US so they will have to make money on actual sales of vehicles now.  Europe is scary for Tesla as the market is exploding in size and  they are actually losing sales volume in an exploding market not just market share; that means there is a vehicle problem. I suspect that is going to play out in the US as well as new and better vehicles enter the market . You can get a 3/Y delivered in an little as 2 weeks, that means the waitlist has all but evaporated.

Just because people say over and over it is a tech company doesn't make it a tech company, it is an Auto company and has all the issues that come with being an Auto company. When was the last time a tech company had billion dollar plus recalls multiple times a year?  There is little competition in the tech industry and when there is they usually just buy each other out early so they can just maintain that advantage. In the Auto industry there is 10 Major companies with national governments backing some of them.

Tesla losing ground in Europe should trouble investors, strategist says (cnbc.com)

Many Tesla owners have paint quality issues here in Canada. I have read in the news there should be a class-action lawsuit filed next Fall.

It is a little hard to compare the Genesis and Lincoln crossover lineup. In size, the 2-row Corsair is the smallest. Next in size is the 2-row Genesis GV70 (already out in Korea and soon to be released stateside), then the 2-row Nautilus, the 2- or 3-row GV80 (it is available in both configurations), and the 3-row Aviator. Most compare the GV80 with the Aviator, MDX, X5 and Q7 or Q8 (depending on whether one is comparing 2-row or 3-row). These are all about the same size except for the Aviator and Audi Q7, which are a few inches longer. Another reason why the GV80 lines up better with the Aviator is they are both RWD/AWD vehicles and the GV80 comes with a 3.5 twin turbo V6 option (it's base engine is a 2.5 turbo 4). One more comment: the upcoming GV70 in Korea has the same engine options as the GV80, which puts a hellavalot of power in the smaller, lighter crossover.

I agree with you the GV80 should not be compared to the Nautilus. If only for the bigger engines. Lenght wise GV80 fits right in-between the Aviator and the Nautilus. For us, the Corsair was just big enough, and the Nautilus is plenty.
