  1. Did I read correctly that Flight blue is not available on a Black Label? My 2021 Black Label is Flight Blue.
  2. If I would have had a choice I most likely would have taken the Ocean Blue. That is a really nice color.
  3. My Flight Blue looks Black sitting in the garage. When out in the sunlight it is a very deep Blue, but obviously not Black. For sure is not a bright Blue. My Pristine White Nautilus glows in the sunlight and looks awesome. No complaints about that color at all.
  4. All newer Lincoln models have it. All newer F-150 trucks have it. Any diesel trucks do not have it.
  5. Yeah I have the dash button on my Raptor but it is just to much physical labor to reach up and hit it. Ugh! I unplugged a simple wire. No more auto stop. I will not disable it on my Gator though. Do not want to complicate or compromise the complex electronics in that thing. Where the off button in located I do not have to lift my arm very high to hit it.
  6. Well I hate auto stop but have beaten that one to death. I have it disconnected on my Raptor. A great guy at my dealership even showed me a better way to do it than the way I did have it disconnected. I did complain about no engine cover also but I guess I will live with that. Some guys claim the motor might run a little cooler without that block of foam rubber sitting on top of it.
  7. Well,,, you are the boss. I will try to think of something else to get some excitement going amongst all these sleepy Gator owners...
  8. Man it is so quiet and boring in here. Maybe you could open the thread back up about which fuel to use! That would get some action going here! Ha ha!!! Thanks!!!!
  9. Well you are most likely correct when you say most people would not notice. I reckon there is no doubt that most Gator's are driven way more conservatively than mine is. I certainly don't try to beat anyone off the line, but it is running at higher speeds and off pavement quite often. And I personally can tell in all my vehicles when I run higher octane gas. I agree that if you cannot notice the difference why bother.
  10. Ya know guys, it just seems pretty simple and common sense to me. You have a high end expensive vehicle that you most likely worked very hard to earn the needed income to purchase such a nice rig. Why wouldn't you use the best fuel you can get in order to achieve the maximum performance and long term good all around care for said Gator? If you have the hard earned ability to purchase a $100K+ dream rig, spending a few more bucks$ for the best fuel available should not even be a second guess. At least that is what my walnut sized brain tells me.
  11. Except that Lincoln wouldn't fix it. Not their problem according to them. And the insurance company has evidently stepped up and did their part very well too. All he was doing was giving us some good information on what caused the problem and showing us a way to correct it. And that is good info to know. Opinions will vary on what would be the best material to use for this correction.
  12. What kind of comment is that redneck? Why bother saying with all due respect? So I guess you would have no problem with the interior and dash of your brand new 100K+ vehicle having to be disassembled right down to the metal? We all ought to be thanking this man for pointing out an obvious flaw that needs to be corrected, not making demeaning remarks like that. 20 Navigator I appreciate this information and will see about making those corrections on my Gator. Thank you for posting this detailed information.
  13. According to the experts on the Raptor Forum..., and one of them is a Ford tech, The 3.5 motor is tuned at the factory to run at optimal performance on 91 or higher octane. It will run fine on 87 also. But it will not put out full horsepower like it will on 91 or higher. I notice when running premium the motor runs quieter, smoother, and gets 1 more mile to the gallon,,, which I don't really care about. I just want it to run the best that it can. I also notice this in my Raptor. Also in my wife's 2020 Nautilas. As much as our vehicles cost why run anything but top of the line fuel in them. I have plenty of corn juice free gas available too. I have tried running 91 corn free in my Raptor and do not notice a difference on anything so I can't justify the almost a dollar difference in price. Specially filling up that 36 gallon tank.
  14. Premium always. With Techroline added. Chevron, Texaco, Costco gas has Techroline. If you are running regular now and have been for a while, switch to one of those premium fuels with Techroline. You should feel and hear the difference.
  15. Yeah that has gotta be tough when towing something! . I did find out that there are several companies that will custom fabricate a second tank for any vehicle ya want. The catch is it has to go where the spare tire is. So if you want more fuel capacity in a Navigator ya gotta give up having a spare tire. Unless you carry it on a roof rack! Ha Ha!!
  16. Yeah, I agree and understand that alright. I may not be in the average Navigator buyer category lol. You should have seen the faces at the dealership in Naples when I told them I was gonna drive it home to Idaho and turn it into an off-road friendly exploration / road trip cruiser. My Raptor works fine if it was just me, but my wife has some physical issues that need to be addressed and the Raptor does not meet them. The Gator does because it is so comfortable for an all day 12 hour adventure. She loves it! If I cannot figure something out, it will be fine. Just have to stop more often for gas.
  17. Ha Ha!! If you do 70 to 80 out here you will get run off the road and I enjoy the ride just fine at 90. I do 90 to 95 in my Raptor all the time. It is perfectly stable at those speeds. And I took those 22" wheels and crappy highway tires off my Nav. Now has 10 ply all-terrain tires. Very very stable at high speeds and off road. There are not flat glass smooth roads out here like there are in Florida where I bought it.
  18. Good point about the 3rd row. Not trading in my BL for an L. The 23 gallon will be fine. Just gotta get used to it as I have had much larger tanks for so many years. I will live.
  19. Not blaming anyone for anything. And this is not a gm truck thankfully as I would never own a gm product. And out here we do not drive at normal speeds. I am only musing about such a small fuel tank on a flagship road trip cruiser. Different people have different needs. I don't just crawl around town or drive on congested 55 mph freeways. My Gator will be driven on a lot of remote dirt roads and be in 4WD in a lot of areas. Ya ever been out west? Across the back roads of Nevada, Wyoming, the Dakotas, Idaho, or Montana, ? The Navigator is only 1 foot shorter than an F-150. which has a 36 gallon tank. They could have easily fit a 28 or 30 gallon tank under there. It would just be helpful in some remote areas. Might be able to correct it, might not. If not, I will happily live with what I got. We love our new Gator.!
  20. Well it would be if this machine got 20 miles to the gallon. Mine does not. When I fill up it usually says 320 miles to empty. Out here the speed limit is 80 on the freeway. Which means we are all doing 90 to 95. Back country dirt roads that go on for miles also make me nervous about no gas available. I do not check my mileage because I don't care what it gets,,, just so it runs like I want it to. Headed to the Tetons and Yellowstone again next week. I will be in areas where 4 x 4 will be needed. Even worse mileage then. I think a 28 to 30 gallon tank would be nice. I am glad to hear from a Ford moderator on this! Do you know if a larger tank will fit under there.? I cannot tell by climbing under it. One thing my wife pointed out that as we get older, we have to make more frequent bathroom stops anyway. Maybe just need to get used to filling the Navigator tank when I stop to empty my own tank! lol
  21. Sounds like the Cam Phasers to me. But that issue was supposedly corrected with the 3.5 back in 2018 / 2019. Should not be happening in a brand new 2020. !! Dealer needs to step up and deal with it. It is a major engine tear down to replace the Cam Phasers.! I would be sick to my stomach to think about them tearing down my brand new 2020 motor with 400 miles on it! Hope you get something corrected. Keep us updated please!
  22. I am surprised that a big perfect road trip cruiser Navigator has such a small fuel tank. 23 gallons does not make sense to me. Out west there are a lotta back road areas with many miles in between gas stations. Most of my last Ford trucks had 36 gallon tanks. Except my Excursion which had a 42 gallon diesel tank. Used to cost me $200 to fill it up! I have been searching without results to find out if a larger after market fuel tank is available for our Navigators. Service manager is no help. Anyone have any ideas about this subject? Or is everyone happy with 23 gallons.? Thoughts and suggestions please!
  23. By the way I stopped into the Lincoln dealership in Boise today. They are not a Black Label Dealership so they cannot even order them or sell them, but they can do all the B.L. services. They have never even seen one! Told me I may have the only 2021 Black Label Gator in Idaho unless someone else has bought one out of state and drove it here also. Which is very possible of course. Tell ya what... You don't want to damage one of those factory wheels that come on a B.L.. They cost $1,800 each to replace. Gulp!... I got 4 of them for sale if anyone wants a good deal to put on their Reserve.
  24. I have 28,000 miles on the Raptor. It is also my daily driver work truck. I am a Real Estate Appraiser. An Extremely busy one. I have had it since Sept of 2019. Had 3 F-150's before that and many other Ford trucks. Been a Ford guy my whole life. Now Lincoln too! . We made 3 separate trips to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone last year and we Love Teton Park. Just an amazing place and we always see more wildlife there than Yellowstone. Got to know Grizzly bear 399 and her 4 cubs well! Google her! Used that Raptor to travel some crazy back country dirt roads that you would never consider traveling on. Also made it up to the Black hills, Deadwood, Mount Rushmore, Glacier National Park, all over Montana & Northern Idaho. Planning a lot more road trips in the new Gator RV! lol.. The RV industry is unbelievable. The size of some of the dealerships around here is astounding! Hundreds of millions of dollars of inventory sitting on those huge lots. Someone is buying all that steel on wheels! Sounds like you have some great childhood traveling memories!. If you come over here we will have to meet up!
  25. I understand the appeal of actual RV traveling. Millions of people love that lifestyle and love their trailers, campers, and motorhomes. My sister and her husband own one of the biggest RV parks in Idaho located in Idaho Falls a couple of hours from Yellowstone and from Jackson Hole. They are constantly full and crazy busy. They are opening another one 2 miles away this spring. But that lifestyle just does not work for us. Motorcycle travel has it's good and bad. One of the bad that we are tired of is that everything you are carrying is on the back of that bike. So when you park at a coastal turn out, or scenic parking area, ya cant walk down to the beach { In your leathers / boots } and leave all your stuff sitting up there unattended. It will be gone. Even worse these days than it was a coupla years ago. And we are tired of riding through Central California and other wild west terrains in 115 degree weather. We both got mild heat stroke a couple of years ago. Been using my Raptor for traveling the last 1 1/2 years. Works well and I love it just fine, but not always comfortable for all day trips. The Gator fixes that. Did 12 hour driving stints from Florida and not once did we get butt sprung or uncomfortable. We like Holiday Inn Express or Best Western as our RV parks. lol. This Gator will be a fine RV for us.
