  1. Upfitter switches. I have them in my F350 2022 SD that has the diesel. Wanted to use a switch to supply power to a rearview mirror type of monitor for my trailer camera. Supplied wires/adapter was too short to reach the cigarette receptacle in center console. Anyway I got into the wiring at the relay/fuse box in the engine compartment finding the blanked off wires for aux switch wiring. I also found the 4 pass though wires. Butt spliced the brown wire which is supposed to be for switch 4. Butt spliced the power supply for the camera what would step down 12v to the camera voltage to the pass through wire in the cab. Same color coding as the wire I used in the engine compartment. Thinking this is easy but Ford could have left a bit more length on the wires. System works, camera monitor comes on when I start the truck. What's weird is the switch does nothing. IE I can't turn the camera monitor off with the aux switch. It always has power when the engine is on regardless of switch position. Any ideas what's going on here or what did I do wrong???
  2. F350 6.7 Platinum in Carbonized Grey. We're happy with the color plus were surprised how close the color is to the car. Kind of weird ordering these things without being able to see an example on the lot. We went with the black interior with the wife being happy with it....whew. No idea what the Marsala interior looks like so we played it safe with the black. By the pictures the Marsala looks way too red to me but hard telling in real life.
  3. Yeah I know that but it's a pain in the butt to have to go through the song and dance. I received my new truck yesterday so was trying to cancel the service on the old which turned out to be a painful back and forth. You'd think the car manufactures who have it on all the car systems would put their foot down with the crappy service but I guess SiriusXm is the only game in town.
  4. Is it just me or do you feel almost dirty after dealing with these guys? SiriusXm has to have the worst customer service going. Slimy, shady business practices. Almost like dealing with an old time shady car dealer.
  5. Just received the email saying my truck has shipped. 22 Platinum Carbonized Gray. I wanted the Platinum because of the seats, cameras, tech blah, blah, blah but I'm not a fan of the chrome tailgate tramp stamp. Can anyone point me how to black that thing out and maybe black the chrome side badges? And/or pictures if someone has done this. I'll probably keep the rest of it stock other than a floor mats of some sort, tonneau which will be more than likely ReTrax and Linux.
  6. Yup the stickers are green so I'd assume they're using the trucks on the web site as a leader trying to get people to call. I'm shopping other dealers now.
  7. As I've stated earlier in this thread. My order that was placed 3/26, had a VIN # and had an assigned build date of 8/11. Seeing no status change after the so called build date I started checking and I found out my order had been canceled on July 30. Supposedly that sales manager is no longer working with them so maybe a bad mistake or a disgruntled employee sabotage...anyway it's all on that dealer regardless. The only reason I'm still working with them is they're trying to get the now new order pushed through with the district manager or whatever they're called and I'm holding them to the original price. It's kind of sad regarding this dealer. I was the one that had to tell them the 2022 order banks were open as they originally wrote me up a 2021 order right when 2021's were closed. They couldn't tell me if the 2021 had gone through or not so switched it to a 2022 which I wanted anyway because of the larger screen. Then I was the one that informed them that they had canceled my order so the whole process starts over again. They didn't know it was canceled. What's now weird. I had gone into the dealership, told them the 2021's were closed so the order was changed to 2022 which probably was their first 2022 ordered. I logged on to their web page this morning and see they have three 2022 Super Duties on the lot. One is a Platinum which my order is but it's a Tremor which mine isn't. How in the hell could they have three 2022's on the lot which I'm assuming are stock? I thought from all the reading on the various forums Retail takes precedence right now. I'd ask them for the Platinum they have but it's Star White which the wife things is a too feminine color for a truck so waiting for the Carbonized Gray.
  8. Not what it's made for there Bubba. All I'm saying the screen tech is good....sheesh.
  9. My kid has a model 3 Tesla. Yes the interior is fairly stark and the screen looks a bit out of place but....wow...the tech packed into that screen is phenomenal. I was impressed.
  10. So an update on this. Ordered 3/26. Something went wrong on the dealer end with the order being cancelled 7/30. They had earlier given me a build date 8/11 so when I didn't see a status change I started to question them. Before that I wasn't hounding, bugging. Anyway according to my sales guy one of their sales managers (who is no longer with them) canceled the order by mistake, on purpose or whatever...who knows. I actually had to tell them the order had been canceled for some reason....sheesh. He's trying to get me slotted quickly because of the screw-up but can't give me an answer of when or how. I'm not sure if there is a way Ford allows you to jump to the front of the line in a case like this. I've put in my waiting period starting 3/26. When the build date came and went with no action I texted asking them about it. They didn't have an answer and didn't see the order was canceled a couple of weeks before that. Sales guy said the Sales manager flat liked to him....yeah ok maybe. The only reason I'm sticking with them so far is the chance they might be able to get me scheduled quicker. Need an answer for that quick or soon or I'm moving to a different dealer. F**k I was even clicking through Ram's web site but went ehhh when I saw the 6 speed tranny. First ever Ford for me, I've been a Chevy guy but they don't offer adaptive cruise in their HD trucks yet which I want so I'm trying Ford this time. The Ford shopping experience hasn't been good.
  11. Things have gotten confusing for me. Ordered: March 26 2022MY F350 w/6/7 Platinum. Dealer told me awhile back the build date was: 8/11...Nothing weird in my build like AS to hold things up 8/11 came at went with no change in my status. I asked the dealer about it but they couldn't figure why either...or that's what they told me. Soooo I asked the Ford employee here in Blue Oval Forum to see what his tracking said about my build. His reply: "See your dealer, someone screwed up because this order was cancelled on July 30th. In Order Processing - Cancelled Ford Kentucky Truck Plant 2, KY Jul-30-2021." Anyone have a clue what would cause this? I haven't done any change orders et cetera. Just trying to patient and staying low key. But....something went fuubar. Dealer hasn't answered me yet after I texted him early this morning. I was headed out salmon fishing so cell range was limited. I am beyond upset right at the minute considering I've been waiting since 8/11. Pissed I didn't even get a reply on the text.
  12. Thank you, Oh, oh. This is weird as there hasn't been any changes or anything. Just sitting there waiting. No reply back from the dealers. Thanks again.
  13. The way I understand it it's not really up to the dealer if they place the order correctly. IE....you order, they submit the order which has a date of submission and then it's taken over by Ford depending what they want to build or have parts to build. I "almost" feel sorry for the dealers...almost.
  14. Hello and thanks in advance. Build date was supposed to be 8/11 according to the dealer but things seemed to have gone into limbo with no status changes that I can see. Hopefully you can help and I'd love to be sending you a picture when I eventually receive the truck. Vin#: 1FT8W3BTXNEC33730 Order# R172 Thanks again!!!
  15. Yup the whole lack of communication thing really is poor of Ford but maybe because of all the problems that COVID caused they are having to change up SOP which I'm sure takes time. If they aren't in the process they need to get started as customer relations needs to stay positive for the long term health of the company. I've been a Chevy guy through several trucks. Liked them. The only reason I'm giving Ford a try is Chevy doesn't as of yet have adaptive cruise control in their HD's. After experiencing it on our car we don't want to not have it. Current truck is a Chevy 2013 Duramax dually which is still fine and a great truck but I don't have the need for the dually anymore and want to drop down to SRW which will tow my boat just fine. Tired of yanking that beast dually around in the parking lots trying to fit it in the narrow stalls at the marina. Fords production scheduling is very weird, confusing and doesn't make sense. My order a F350 SRW Platinum with the 6.7 was ordered 3/26. No adaptive steering, no 5th wheel prep, no bedliner so you wouldn't think any commodity hold-ups unless it's the wheel well liners. The dealer gave me a 8/11 build time but after that date came and went there hasn't been a change in status on all the trackers that we can access so who knows what is hanging it up if it's hung up. It is weird trucks that have been ordered substantially after mine have already been delivered. Last I talked to the dealer they don't know what's happening either. I guess they could be clueless on how Fords system works. For me the poor scheduling communication isn't frustrating because of impatience of not getting the truck but it's because I want to have things lined up and scheduled when I finally receive it as I think there is some lead times involved with things like spray-in liner and tonneau covers et cetera. Plus I'll need to move funds from one account to my working account so a decent schedule really would help the customer experience. Ford needs to get their act together.
