April 26 is just the event date close enough to the date of production of the first customer orders, which is the preceding week. Likely they'll deliver those first few trucks then or soon after. I believe Job #1 was for dealer mannequins etc and has been happening for the last few weeks. Customer orders are all under Job #2 as per WBDO order sheets, which presumably starts around this week.

Well, if one wanted to be time-efficient and only charge at your fastest rate, then you might want to stop on more occasions for less time. At it's peak the extended range battery in the F-150 will charge at 54 miles of range per 10 minutes (that's information from Ford). It might only do that between 20% and 70% (this part is just a guess, they haven't released the charging curve). So let's say you went down from 300 miles of range to 60 miles of range (20%) then charged for 20 minutes to 54+54+60 = 168 miles of range (56% of battery), you'd then drive another 108 miles and repeat that 2 more times, to get to your destination with about 20 miles spare (6.6%). So either you charge at your destination or you charge one more time before you arrive. So you'd be looking at 1 hour total charging time. Of course, very few people would want to be this geeky, and just want the gas-like experience of fill-and-go. We'll get there 1 day. Perhaps the F-150 Lightning isn't for people who take regular long road trips (especially towing), but we'll get there one day. It's definitely ready for people who stay local though IMO.

Reviews from media people who actually test drove the pre-production units report that it will have the option of single-pedal driving. Also the handling dynamics feel a lot more planted than a regular F-150 (due to more balanced weight). Obviously still no range tests - going to be a while until we get those.

They're definitely marketing it as a PowerWall type feature - the ford charger can reverse and take power from the F-150 to your home. Except in the middle of a power-cut you can't drive the Tesla PowerWall to the charge station to get more electricity, but you can with the F-150 lightning!

There is no build and price yet. It's just a $100 blanket reservation to order specific trim / variant at a future date. The login is to associate your reservation with your account and make the payment. It's pretty much the last step of the process.

I was visiting New Zealand earlier this year and got a great deal on a 1.5 months rental for a Ranger. It was a brand new Wildtak. Served us so well that I was almost convinced to get it instead of a new Escape this year. Some of the things I liked about it and are standard Wildtrak options just don't seem easily available in the US and I'm wondering if it's a taste issue or something else? Power Retractable tonneau cover. The integration on this was fantastic: A separate button on the factory key fob for opening, closing and pausing the retraction. A specific button inside the cab on the dash for it Another button mounted just inside the bed which closes / opens Yes I know we can get something aftermarket like the Powertrax, but it's over $2500 USD and doesn't have the same level of integration (no built-in buttons and requires a separate key fob). Bed rail flares Or whatever they're called. The flare / wing yes is plastic, but help bring a bit of a connected feel between the cab and the bed. I guess us Americans are more used to a simple Truck appearance, and they'll have the Maverick for this kind of unibody style soon. But the only aftermarket similar style we can get seems to be more of a sports bar approach, which is a bit too aggressive for my tastes. Although looks-wise I do prefer the US front bumper vs the chin on the NZ one. Diesel Engine Speaks for itself.

Well, the Powerboost is available on all trim / equipment levels, so hopefully that's another sign.

Especially on the f-150 when there's so much information to show, putting a little bit of it on the windscreen would help spread it out a little and keep attention on the road.

Pretty annoying how on f-150, you can't have certain features without getting chrome. Platinum's cannot be configured without Chrome. Or to be even more feature-specific, you cannot get a wireless charger, without getting chrome all over the exterior
