My comment is in reference to the trailer connector in the bed not the adaptive steering system. Sorry for the confusion.
My apologies also!

Correct, the dealer told me that they have been informed it would not get built. Seemed a little weird to me, but I work for a heavy truck dealer and many things have changed in the last couple of years. I should also comment that I know the GM of the dealer I'm working with and I hope they wouldn't do me wrong. It shows retail on my paperwork, but if it wasn't submitted as a retail order they would be asking me to remove adaptive steering and the spray-in bedliner too.
As far as installing the option after the fact they are going to research a part number and price to get back to me. Working at a dealer myself looking this up usually requires finding a VIN that had the option from the factory to locate part numbers. I really wanted it from the factory but am fully capable of doing it myself as I have a hoist and all the necessary tools. The downside will be having to cut the bedliner around the bed mounting bolts to remove it. Just want to make sure that the kit they look up is complete. It needs to include hardware/brackets, factory harness, and bed sidewall passthrough/plugin. In the build data selection, it references 12/7 pin ports. I believe the 12 includes the trailer tire pressure monitor wiring which I plan to utilize.
Really hope this doesn't turn into a mess...
I’ve looked over all the schematics for adaptive steering on the 22 from what I could find the connector for adaptive steering is specific to the 22 only. My thought process was to get a wheel from a 21 or 20 but the connector is different. If ford can’t build the trucks with it, I highly doubt you can go to the dealer and get the wheel ordered. This is just my 2 cents. -

It does no good to find out nitty gritty details or call people who are already doing the best they can in a difficult situation. Be patient.
I wanna know why my 23 isn’t built yet! Can you help?

Pulling it down and stopping calls is a separate issue. I could call the actual trucking company that runs the local lot, but I won’t. Palsapp was just a way to try and see what it was doing without bothering anyone.
And you used it how it was intended to be used by the public. There are people who were calling JCT wanting to know why their truck was just sitting in the yard and not moving. I’m sure they were getting hundreds of calls a day for that!

The community here is hungry for more information about the status of their orders, in part because the Ford.com order tracking is GARBAGE. I'd argue that if there were better order tracking information available, there would be fewer questions / calls.
While I won’t disagree with you, blowing up JCTs phone cause your truck is sitting in a rail yard isn’t a good idea. Taking the notes/restraints information and calling your dealer and changing your order 10 times to get your truck faster isn’t good either.

Of course the day before my delivery window ends, palsapp pulls their vin tracker.
thats cause they were tired of customers calling them. just like @ice-capades taking down the weekly scheduling notes/commodity restraints, people were abusing it! so now everyone gets to sit in the dark and just wait. its a shame that it got ruined good job everyone.

Lets fire up the 2024 one as well just for fun. I heard the 2024 model will be a flying truck!I already ordered one but my dealer wont tell me when its going to be built or what commodities are holding it up ! I never got the email from ford so im not sure he put it in the system correctly. I went ahead and already dropped the spray in bed liner but for some reason its not being built yet.

Forscan actually changes memory values within the various modules and controllers which change the way the software operates. It’s not worth the effort to lock it out because it’s not changing the software, just enabling or disabling features the same way Ford would do it.youre right, im just talking future cars. I really doubt ford likes us turning on or adding stuff our cars didnt come with. I use Forscan quite often since I have 3 fords in my household. its also great for troubleshooting!! much better than some cheap OBD2 scanner that gives you generic codes. Forscan allows you to see the PIDs and troubleshoot pretty far into the vehicle.

Why? There's nothing to discuss until Ford releases the 2023MY Super Duty timeline, the USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) opens and the 2023 Super Duty Order Guide is released.
Was totally joking/being sarcastic lol

The no haggle prices pre pandemic were almost all far below MSRP. My F150 was $10K off MSRP advertised price - no haggling necessary. The point is you can’t enjoy the down side of the market where you get huge discounts off MSRP and then complain when the supply/demand curve flips the other way. It’s the same type of market. Of course you can wait it out and see if the market changes.
I dont see this changing anytime soon. There are still deals to be had out there, several dealers are offering 2-4% below invoice. theres still plenty of dealers that will take A/Z/X plans also. I for one am ok with the current market, my 2019 F350 was almost a wash for my 22 F350 and the dealer didnt have my 19 sitting on his lot 3 days before it was gone. im hoping it sticks long enough for me to jump in line and get a 23 on order and do this again.

Can we start a 2023 order discussion/tracking thread? Im bored with the 2022 I bought thats sitting in my driveway.

The site for the Ford Fusion is a great example of your point - those guys have refined this to an art form at this point. I wouldn't be completely surprised if some of them migrate to Maverick and do the same there.
That said, I don't agree with the criticism of this guy (not aiming at your post, commenting on the general criticism in the thread). He's modding his vehicle in the time honored traditional of hot rodding - only it's in the form of (primarily) electronics - which foretells what we will see more of the era of EV vehicles. I'm just glad he likes his Maverick enough to want to mod it - he's demonstrating an enthusiast mindset that hopefully will never disappear.
I wasnt criticizing the guy at all what he has done is cool! and more will follow. I was simply saying what hes done has been going on for a long time in the community. Hopefully this doesnt draw unwanted attention to Forscan, theres guys that have been using it for a long time to add features to their trucks that werent there or they didnt get when they ordered/bought. I would hate to get locked out of the ability to mod my vehicles in the future. I just recently put an MKZ cluster in my fusion with the help of Forscan and the results were amazing. I feel making a whole article dedicated to this guy swapping a cluster in is going to draw unwanted attention to the community from people we dont want attention from.

color me not impressed for the amount of publicity this guy is getting for something that many others have been doing for far longer with ford vehicles.

doesnt the F450 have adaptive steering standard? if so i have a good guess why youre not scheduled yet.

the biggest problem I see in the super duty thread(229 pages now) is peoples lack of willingness to read/research. instead of doing reading/research they join to ask a question that has been answered probably 100 times in that thread. I can imagine this is EXHAUSTING for @akirby and @ice-capades and any other mod that participates. if people would spend the time to read the information in the production/sales forum they wouldnt be making lame guesses if a bed liner is holding up their order or if adaptive steering is holding it up. nobody has a magic crystal ball to this. I am a member of MANY forums and I have never seen the same questions ask soooooooo many times. Spreading bad information helps nobody and sends everybody into a panic, but i will say keep cancelling your 5th prep packages and bed liners when i order a 23 it wont be a delay for me lol!! in all seriousness, read !!!!!!! the answers have been posted 100 times to almost all questions.

Before I ordered my truck in October, I went to a local dealer that advertised a new 2021 Plat Tremor on lot. Once I got there I realized it was the "managers" truck and had 2200 miles on it. They wanted 5k over new retail... you definitely could sell your truck now over MSRP. They didn't get my order btw, I don't like that shady crap they were trying to pull.
some of the stuff they are pulling on customers currently is very low ball and scummy!! look what they are doing to the bronco buyers, i see the same thing happening to the lightning buyers!

Once the chip shortage gets figured out, and all the trucks sitting on the sidelines get fitted, there will be a ton of new vehicles released into the market which will stabilize the market.
LOL people said the same thing about all the 21s that were parked!! theres not lots and lots full of 22s like there was 21s, this isnt changing till mid/late 23 thats my prediction.

This is where they will need to strike a balance. Ford in in the business of selling new vehicles, not used. They don't want to have to compete with the used market.
The used market isnt something ford created. so long as they are still moving new trucks, and people dont want to wait to order, both will thrive. I have no doubt I could list my 22 right now with 3100 miles on it for MSRP and get it.

I don't believe truck prices will ever go back to where they were. The days of getting $10K off sticker are gone. The mfg have learned they can build less trucks and charge more to make the same, or more, money. GM has already aligned their new business model with this thought process and the others will follow soon. They all want you to order instead of buying off the lot. You will still be able to, but you'll pay for it.
I think this is 2 fold also, it will keep used truck/trad values high. Im probably going to sell my 22 and order a 23(once i see how the 23s look).

Missing chips or 2021's?
Not sure about the missing chips, but definitely not 21s, the fair grounds was empty last week.

I just wanna chime in here since I live in the louisville area, our local state fairgrounds probably has 1500+ super dutys built sitting there in the lot currently.
