Ordered Feb 21 2022 and just today finalized all trade ins and purchase agreements. Our dealer received a large delivery of SDs and every one of them was a retail order and already sold. Just in line for the final tint and bed-liner, with a suspension kit and new wheels already added. Almost 12 months but it looks like the result is one solid and large machine!

That was, I believe, the date the truck processed through the KTP assembly line. However it was several more weeks of waiting for the final few chips as mentioned from the above individual at KTP it sounded like Ford made a monstrous push to finalize all builds and assemble all the chips holding most builds back in time for the new year. Their huge effort moved most trucks out it seems. I assume my build and probably a few others were the final 22MY to be ran through the line.

Looks like the order tracker updated today 12/30/22 to SHIPPED. Started its build 12/19. Wanted to applaud the folks working hard throughout FMC to make these solid vehicles and in such large volumes. Thank you to all the factory workers, drivers, transporters, and all those in between! Looking forward to seeing the massive chunk of truck soon!

Spent some time at the dealer and my sales guy has been reasonably up front. Checking into the truck itself, it is built but did have a chip hold. Ford had an estimated chip arrival date of within 1 or 2 weeks, and he suspected that meant delivery in mid to late January (well after what Ford was telling him). He has been realistic and reasonable with how long it could take. It is built just needs a few more chips before shipping. Ford said truck should arrive by 12/28 but my sales guy suggested it is more likely 1/28/23. Appreciate that the dealer is being honest and it hopefully means soon!

To help those in ordering/processing for their trucks mine with a build date of 12/4 has yet to complete its build as of today 12/12. Looks like they are loading the BCE modules right this very moment but no PCM modules loaded (my assumption is those follow soon). Looks like there was an absolutely massive number of trucks being built on this final build date. Stay tuned as the dealer believes they should have the truck by 12/22 (though as you all relate that would be a bit optimistic).

Thank you for clarification! So it is more-so they have likely assumed quantities, either on order or pending receipt, sufficient to produce the vehicle but that is likely to change.

Per resources on this site, Ford will not schedule a vehicle unless ALL parts for that vehicle are procured and prepared for the build. That is to say, they will not create a VIN unless they have all parts necessary to build the vehicle (with the current chip shortage being an exception to the rule). You can rest easy knowing if you have had a VIN created your truck and its parts are already set aside for your specific build.

Quick update for y'all. With the production schedule tightening up towards the end of the 22MY I had spoken with my dealer to just run over the details and validate it was clea, clear, and COVP. He quickly confirmed everything and sure enough today (9/16) I have a build date and VIN. Set for 11/28.

I can confirm. Spoke with two different salesmen to get a clear answer. One did not want to check WBDO and said it just wasn't an option. My now primary salesmen personally logged into WBDO with his manager and confirmed he was able to select it and it would be added to my build. If anyone at the dealer suggests the WBDO is not allowing them to add the 17M they have not checked and are not being entirely truthful. Have a different salesmen or the sales manager check instead.

I would assume that can probably be worked on/modified with your dealer if you discuss it with them. Looking forward to the truck costing a little less initially and arriving a little sooner!

What does this mean in terms of the fact that the vehicle option 17M has yet to be enabled in the WBDO system? Are they shutting the banks then opening the option?

Has anyone compared these prices with those of Flood ESP?
