Diverting Chips to Other Vehicles
MyGreatEscape replied to MyGreatEscape's topic in Escape & Kuga Forum
So, are you saying you already received your vehicle that was built this month? Or is that a statement as to the future, when it arrives? Mine was built in August also, but has not shipped. -
Ford Order Tracking Site Down?
MyGreatEscape replied to MyGreatEscape's topic in Production and Sales
Well, I can see you are right. The build date was 8/13, and the tracking site still shows it as built. The email said it would be shipping in a few days. Guess I have to wait a couple of weeks for it to actually be shipped. There is an Escape promotion (discount) this month, so they probably delayed the shipment on purpose so it won't get here until September. -
Ford Order Tracking Site Down?
MyGreatEscape replied to MyGreatEscape's topic in Production and Sales
Omg! I just tried it one more time, and the status of my vehicle is now built. It had been in production (real production) since August the 1st. I take back all my complaints against the tracker! -
Ford Order Tracking Site Down?
MyGreatEscape replied to MyGreatEscape's topic in Production and Sales
Yes, that is exactly what's happening. I will keep trying later and hope that the issue is fixed. I just wasn't sure if I was the only one having the problem. For the record, I am using Chrome. -
Ford Order Tracking Site Down?
MyGreatEscape replied to MyGreatEscape's topic in Production and Sales
Very interesting. I've been using the same operating systems a gazillion times without any issue until earlier today. I don't have Firefox or Edge, but I will keep trying. It's like I don't exist in their system anymore. -
Has anyone tried the Ford tracking order site today? When I try, the page just refreshes and asked for the order number and VIN number again. It does this repeatedly. Just wanted to see if anyone else was having issues.

Does Ford make mistakes on this tracking process? I have a window sticker, and the Ford tracker says in production with the date of 8/8. It actually changed to in production a week before that which is when I got the window sticker. Today I receive an email from Ford saying that they are giving me an update as promised, and would keep me updated every 45 days. What the heck?! How can it go from being in production with a window sticker, a blend date of 8/2, and now an apologetic email from Ford about how they will keep communicating with me in these lengthy intervals. Any thoughts? FYI, yes I called my dealer with no call back today.

Thank you for your input. I'm glad to hear that your window sticker was released this week also. At first, my build got moved to next week so I started to lose faith. Until today, the window sticker was finally there. I have a 2021 SEL model non-hybrid, which I am trading in. I never thought to use the foot activated tailgate. Until about 2 weeks ago. Now I am sure I will miss it but I will live. I'm not getting the plug-in hybrid, because I thought that I would not get it this year and the tax credit would run out. Therefore I'm getting the all-wheel drive, gas electric hybrid, with the sunroof and the tech package. I'm super excited again. Happy for you too!

Good news today, as my window sticker was finally released. However, I noticed something that did not look right. I paid for the technology package, which should come with the 12.3 in instrument cluster (digital). The window sticker shows a 6.5-in instrument cluster in the upper section where all of the standard features at no charge are listed. But it also shows that I added the technology package in the bottom half. So my question is, why am I not seeing the larger instrument cluster on my window sticker? Is it just lumped in with the technology package? I fear a smaller cluster, which is one of the reasons I ordered the technology package. Thank you for any expertise.

I don't know why they bother to delete it from the Escape. It won't push them out any faster. Just like the removal of the foot activated back cargo door. The constant rescheduling later and later leads me to believe the Escape is not a priority, and parts are being diverted to other vehicles. They can remove more and more options, but if this doesn't speed up production, why bother announcing it, as if it would get your vehicle produced quicker. I said earlier, I won't be surprised if my order gets switched to a 2023 model year. By then, all these deletions might become available again.

I actually used it, and I'm still under the first year subscription. During long trips, one full-time college student would use the car Wi-Fi, the other adult logged in to work through the phone's mobile hotspot. This helped tremendously for the once-monthly trip for medical treatment that was very far away.

https://fordauthority.com/2022/07/2022-ford-escape-production-update-drops-4g-lte-wi-fi-hotspot/ By the time they get around to building mine, they will have removed all of the features I specifically wanted. Perhaps I will cancel my order, and just look nationwide for something else.

It's Tuesday night. Just received an update from Ford, that I am now bumped to July 18th production week. Had really hoped that silence meant a good thing, as I was scheduled for next week. At this rate, I expect I might get it by the 4th quarter if I'm lucky. So much for things improving. I don't think I want a 2023 model. I'm not impressed with the nose job recently revealed.

New Escape With No Camo
MyGreatEscape replied to T-dubz's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Not much of a difference. I was expecting better. -
https://fordauthority.com/2022/06/ford-production-to-be-scaled-back-at-four-u-s-assembly-plants/ Poorly written article. What does this mean? Are all the plants down until September? Geez, wonder if I'm still scheduled 6/27, per the last bump notification.

In a forum discussing the possible end for the Ford Escape, a few users mentioned chips were being diverted from Escape production so that other cars and trucks could be built. Does anyone know if this is true? The recent post about the foot activated hatch release being removed gave me some hope, but not if they're going to divert microchips away from the Escape altogether.

Thanks to the few of you who have stood up for the Escape. The Bronco Sport is not appealing to the members of the Ford Escape crowd just yet. However, there are tens and thousands of Ford Escape owners who are quite happy with their vehicles. I have seen the interiors of some of these trucks look cheap and tacky myself, so it is just a matter of one's own perspective. I am proud to be a Ford Escape owner, and I have my third one on order right now.

Our schedules do appear to mirror each other almost exactly. Someone else on here has a PHEV, but mine is just for the hybrid. The plant is closed for 2 weeks in July. If we get bumped one more time, then it would seem to be all the way to July 18th. At some point they switch over to the new model year, which I think is in August. All I can say is that if we are bumped to the 2023 year model, there is a refresh of the Escape that is giving the front end a more aggressive look. Which I am okay with. Still, it would be nice to know when to plan for the vehicle.
