  1. The decision to leave Ford wasn't easy...thanks for pointing that out. :stats:
  2. I now own a Tahoe and a Magnum, no more Ford's in my driveway. Not having "A" plan anylonger made the decision easier as well as deciding that I will probably never purchase another brand new vehicle. I had owned Ford vehicles for almost 20 years and with no regrets. As far as the new career goes...I love it. I took a nice cut in pay...but the $100,000 (64,000 after tax) offset any financial issues. As a firefighter/paramedic, I routinely run into friends that I used to work with. I actually transported a Ford friend to the hospital the other day. It wasn't an easy decision....but it has worked out well for me. :happy feet:
  3. Well, I have been away for quite a while. On 12/11/06 I took the buyout from Wayne Stamping. So it has almost been 2 years and I haven't looked back....until now of course. Just checking in to see if the majority of the people have realized it was a great decision or the wrong decision. Happy Holiday's Everyone! :hyper:
  4. It took a little over 6 weeks to get my $$$$.... I left in January.
  5. Things have worked out for me... I had taken the $100,000 payed off just about everything and moved into a job that I still enjoy after 5 months. I had Fire/EMS experience so lining up a job was relatively easy to do before signing on the dotted line. I still watch Ford Motor closely and still talk to friends from the 3 different plants I worked at during my 19 years. I took a little bit of a pay cut, but at the end of the day I am happier with $$$ in my pocket and the gloom and doom machine not hanging over my head anylonger. Good luck....
  6. That 's the attitude......too bad all the life vests (buyouts) have been used, hope you can swim!
  7. Just think it does not make sense that a company that is in horrible financial situation spend tons of $$$$$ to push a sick lifestyle...... spend the $$$ on engineering not on a homosexual agenda!
  8. Rather than backing down from its support of homosexuality, Ford Motor Company has apparently taken a "rub it in your face" attitude. On the January 16 episode of "Dirt," which airs on the FX channel, Ford helped sponsor one of the most explicit, sickening homosexual scenes ever shown on television. Because it is so explicit, I could not even include a description of it here. I hope you will simply trust me. However, if you want to read our review of the scene, or to see the video of the scene, click here. Be forewarned, it is extremely graphic. Ford has made it extremely clear that they have no intentions of ending their support of homosexuality. Among other things, the company reneged on their agreement to remain neutral in the culture wars, increased their support of homosexual publications, sponsored TV programs pushing homosexuality and required employees to attend "diversity" training promoting homosexuality. 9. for those unlucky former fordz employees like my self I called WAP rep today and they told me that the checks will be in 3-5 weeks from this past Monday. I too enjoy my new career.....good luck to those that stayed behind, keep up the good work.....I do want to get my frozen pension some day!

  11. Wow.... There is not one sentence in that post that was good for those employees.... Hangon to your hats fellas..... btw.....there is an opening @ Wayne Stamping....I left almost 2weeks ago!!!! :shades:
  12. good luck.... My last day was last Friday @ ISA... Merry Christmas...
  13. :blah: :blah: :blah: Since you are pretty much a virgin on these boards....11/06 I will go easy on you....... :slap: My last day was Friday the 8th of December......Because I chose to take a LOA....And Ford has to be flexable on when people leave if they wanted to get the numbers to take the packages....It does sound like there is a bit of jealousy, because you could not take one of the packages. It will be alright bud....keep on working hard @ the blue oval so that I will eventually be able to collect my pension, now have a good day cause it really sounds like one of Ford Motors best stayed behind to fight the good fight!
  14. ok....other than the gay porn guy.....nobody has listed a real interesting career move.... like....Garbage collector, Crime Scene Investigator, Teaching, ??? Any franchise start ups? My Last day officially is Friday.....Start my new job Monday the 11th. I am taking a LOA....
  15. Wish everyone the best of luck.... wondering what kind of opportunities are out there for all of you? I have made my decision.....Fire/EMS :hyper: Was notified today my exit date will be 1/1/07..... a friend of mine @ Woodhaven is leaving and moving to Georgia to pursue a career in Law Enforcement....
  16. you know the old saying ..... wish in one hand and $#!* in the other.... another buyout? I would be very suprised.....Everyone seems to forget....they do not have to give us squat! Plus they just mortgaged the farm and it is not likely they will use any of that 18 billion to get workers to quit.
  17. Wayne Assembly and Stamping in Michigan.....seemed like a good guy...
  18. be careful....unless you are 100% sure you are leaving or you do not pull your paperwork by the 15th of December...you might find out 0n 1/1/07 that you are unemployed and receiving a $65,000 check about the end of January. I would not count on Ford HR to move swiftly on anything....especiallly over the HOLIDAYS!
  19. yes this is old news on this site as well as with other Ford Plants....Wayne Stamping and Assembly have had work rules similar to these for years....except the outsourcing.
  20. Heard today that the 700 or so leaving MTP early next year might not have to leave Local 900.... So far 600+ have signed for the buyout between MTP and WAP and another 115 have signed up @ ISA... :reading:
  21. you know the funny thing Ford fails to realize is that when all of us over paid autoworkers leave....and they replace us with $14 hr underpaid autoworkers.....the loyalty will end with us. Cause @ $14 hr these employees will not be able to afford the products they are building. They will go to Kia and Hyundai to buy what they can afford ....thus Ford's sales will continue to plummet....a vicious cycle is about to begin....
  22. They have no loyalty to us employees anylonger.....so...... My loyalty to Ford dies the last day I walk out the door......(might be taking buyout). Although I will still buy some compilation of an American Made vehicle with non Ford $$$$
