AutoGuide 2021 Awards - Ford and Hyundai dominate
Gurgeh posted a topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion ForumAutoGuide has released its 2021 awards for best new vehicles. It had 8 categories: Car of the Year, Utility of the Year, Truck of the Year, Luxury Car of the Year, Luxury Utility of the Year, Family Vehicle of the Year, Performance Car of the Year, and Green Vehicle of the Year. Ford won 3 categories (Truck, Utility, Green Vehicle) as did Hyundai/Genesis (Car, Luxury Car, Luxury Utility). Stellantis won 1 (Family Vehicle) as did GM (Performance Car). The surprise? Ford nabbed the Green and Utility Awards with the same vehicle: the Mustang Mach-E. The green vehicle win is unsurprising, but AutoGuide argued that not only did the all-electric MME beat out all other EV utilities, but it beat out all other utilities of any type. The Utility Award blurb notes: "The Mach-E isn’t just good for an EV, it’s a great crossover, full stop... The cabin is bright and airy, and there’s enough rear-seat headroom for adults even with the sloping roofline. Ford’s latest SYNC infotainment system, presented here in a large portrait orientation, is snappy and intuitive. More than that, the Mach-E provides a smooth, quiet ride—but can still entertain the driver when asked. 'The Mustang Mach-E will have many folks reconsidering their stance on EVs,' said lead road tester Kyle Patrick in his first drive review, 'offering a compelling package that doesn’t sacrifice anything from a ‘normal’ car.' F-150 Remote Start Time
pupcom posted a topic in F150 & Raptor ForumDoes anyone know if there is a way to extend the time the engine stays on after you initiate a remote start? Currently, my engine runs for about 5 minutes, then automatically shuts off. I'd like to extend that time to about 10 minutes. Thanks, Dan
WALDORF FORD & F-150 Bed Rails
pupcom posted a topic in F150 & Raptor ForumI recently ordered a 2013 F-150 FX4 with a 5' 6" bed from Waldorf Ford in Waldorf, MD. Amoung the items I wanted was the pop outs on the bed rails so I could install the pop up tie downs. I was assured the pop outs would be on the truck when I ordered it. Well, I got the call yesterday around noon that the truck was in. While talking to the sales guy, I asked him to make sure the pop ups were on the bed rails before I got there that evening. After I got to the dealership around 6pm however, upon inspection of the truck, I found that there were no pop outs. I told the sales guy that the bed rails did not have the pop outs as I had requested and even asked about multiple times. He said he didn't know why they weren't on there. I asked him to see if the dealer could install them since I ordered it that way. He left and came back to say they didn't have any in stock. So I asked him about taking rails off another truck in the lot. He again left and came back to say no other trucks on the lot have the pop outs. The manager even came out and "helped him look". So I left the dealership, upset WITHOUT the truck that I have been waiting on for 8 weeks! UPDATE: I went home after the dealership and got online and researched the part for myself and found that Ford does not offer the pop outs on the 5' 6" bed rails. I wish the dealership knew about the product that they are selling. I'm not sure if I should go back to get the truck or just go order one from a different dealer who knows what's what and won't try to pull a fast one. - Undecided FX4 buyer?
