There will be a range of Chinese-built Chryslers built on Chery platforms. LaSorda said: ‘This allows us to introduce all-new products more quickly with less capital spending’. --- In union affairs too the best defence is a good offense. A prepared membership is one of the most powerful weapons. Showing that Ford workers were prepared to strike scared off the company and the UAW bigtime! They had to come up with an alternate plan, which they did, namely dump the workforce into the drink! --- The Chrysler, and GM attacked their workers to indirectly punish the UAW. The layoffs were used to discredit the UAW in front of the GM and Chrysler workers but especially in front of Ford workers, at that time awaiting news of the tentative deal. GM and Chrysler are totally pissed and want to destroy the UAW now because the UAW gave Ford a-half- a-step lead ahead of them both. If this deal passes as is, Ford will be able to impoverish their existing workforce faster and sooner than GM and Chrysler can. They will get there at the middle of the next contract - 6 years. GM and Chrysler won't get to that same position for 9 years. The UAW kept this secret Ford 'gift' play on the QT, but GM and Chrysler found out about it and tried to cause trouble for both Ford and the UAW brass. They announced the layoffs and plant closures just before the UAW was about to give away the store to Ford, spooking them to announce a deal. The prepared workers, flashing schedules and other picket line details online, scared Ford and the UAW into claiming they had a deal. But the deal they put forth is total crap. GM and Chrysler wanted Ford to follow the pattern, thinking that the UAW would sacrifice the weakened Ford, keeping GM and Chrysler safer, longer. Instead a piece of shit was cobbled together and tossed out to the workers, details and substance after you vote it in, not before! But payback's a bitch! As GM sneakily devalues itself (39 Billion worth) a by-product effect is that it indirectly attacks the UAW-GM VEBA pot, making its value incredibly unstable - oh joy. In this big time game of winner take all, Chrysler pouts, then rolls out plans to sell itself in pieces before any more money is wasted by relying on this double-dealing UAW. The tag team of GM-Chrysler battling to punish the UAW-Ford side will fight dirtier when this tentative deal passes so be aware that other blunt force moves to punish UAW-Ford are being crafted. THAT IS EXACTLY THE REASON YOU ARE FORD MOTOR COMPANY!!! THAT WAS DONE IN THE 2005 VISTEON SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEEMENT, WAS IT NOT? UNDER THAT AGREEMENT - YOU ALL WENT TO SUPPLEMENTAL WAGES ON YOUR NEW HIRES, IN ORDER TO RETURN TO FORD MOTOR. UNDER THE NEW AGREEMENT, WITH JEFF TERRY AS A NEGOTIATOR, YOU NOW HAVE THE RIGHT TO BECOME A MASTER WAGE EMPLOYEE AT ANOTHER PLANT WITH UP TO 30,000 MOVING ALLOWANCE OR GO TO AN HVC (FCSD) LOCATION AND BECOME A MASTER WAGE EMPLOYEE. YOU DIDN'T HAVE THAT BEFORE. YOU WERE STUCK IN A TRUE TWO TIER. YOU HAD BETTER THANK JEFF FOR WHAT HE DID. REALIZE WHAT YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU SHOOT YOUR MOUTH OFF IDIOT.
